Such an interesting and varied piece of organ music. I only wish Bruhns had seriously developed the brief "Gigue" section (4:29). That might have been a lot of fun! Thank you for sharing. 👍❤️
J S Bach wrote in this rhapsodic style at the beginning of his career. With good judgement he abandoned it later ,I suspect he saw that Bruhns and others had stretched its possibilities already to its limits.
Definitely hear the influence of Buxtehude. It's a tragedy Bruhns died so young. Great performance!
Thanks very much. Bruhns is one of the best examples of quasi-improvised music... and what an imagination he had!
Work of a genius, Bach must have stood in awe of this - he soaked it up, rest is history
Omg, we have a Brombaugh organ in Haga church, Gothenburg where I worked this summer!

He somehow did it in the final "gigue fugue", probably not in the most commonplace way, but this defied expectations are typical of Bruhns' art.
Lovely playing, David!!
That was beautiful ❤
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it!
This is an interesting piece. Nice registration choices here, too.

Prodigiosa obra y extraordinaria interpretacion.❤❤❤❤
The beginning section feels almost microtonal
