im guessing somewhere around 300-350 i think. the only reason this kit is so expensive is the lighting gimmick and that wouldnt change with the phenex.

Gundam is one of the few people I can listen to talk about absolutely anything and I'll actually pay attention, absorb what he says and I truly enjoy the experience. I'll probably never built one of these because my hands and brain don't work together that well, but I do enjoy learning about them. 💗

In my opinion I think this is probably the definitive unicorn gundam kit ever. For $250 to me is worth the money. Which is way better than the PG final battle version. Which is like Over $500 in total with the LED. I think one of the problems why people are tired of the unicorn Gundam is probably because Bandai needs to make two versions of them all the time. Two versions where if you want the green and red psycho frame.
The last thing I’m gonna say is that it matters more at the end of the day if it makes new innovation and variety. I’m totally fine having the same kid coming out every single year as long as I feel very different from the last one.

Definitely agree that it does feel over priced, but that's because I'm only interested in the Unicorn itself because I've heard over and over that it's leagues better than the OVA and ver ka. I love Unicorn so I ended up grabbing the OVA Unicorn and it was my first MG too, not a bad experience and it looks good to boot.. but I cannot for the life of me get it to transform. I've done the RG Banshee and Unicorn numerous times and figured it would be the same but bigger - and it is - but boy this thing is tight and after breaking one of the pieces in the front ankle armor I decided that I'd never try it again. Besides I like it in Unicorn mode more anyway lol
This one is a heartbreaker for me... No money, no space...... its become my holy grail.

Maybe 250 bucks. But between the editing and that light up gimmick, you make it look like a million bucks to me. Can't even fathom how you managed to paint the human characters, especially since they're smaller than a frickin' penny.

just pulled the trigger on a 1/144 scale Ver.Ka RX-0 RG as my first kit for 60 bucks. Payed a little more atm than it was but its backordred from japan.
Unicorn was the most uplifting anime I've seen and was really something beautiful to get me through the awfulness of 2020. God I want a Unicorn but I'm not sure which one to get.
cant go wrong with rg full armor. mg is fine if you dont mind worse articulation. if you want a purely huge display theres the mega size.mgex is too expensive, pg is good too buts its still a hefty money investment

Man I want this kit but can't justify the price. Would love to have without the light up gimmick......not a fan of light up gimmicks on the actual Gundam itself but cool with light up action 🎬 on stands....incredible job here.
Hell yeah! Your video's with commentary are by far the best gunpla videos on UA-cam. Even if it's only 8 min long, and only 1 per month, it's the only thing I look forward to. Sequels like a schoolgirl. Now get cracking on the unleashed so February will have meaning.

Idk I set aside like 200 a month at the moment cause my main hobby atm is building gunpla on my weekends off. I try to get through a kit each weekend. I want to clarify, 200 is not something I pay every month and I usually build HG kits. The 200 also covers paint, action stands, tools, etc. it’s not just 200 bucks for models and then whatever else

Between this and the MGEX Strike Freedom, i dunno which would burn your pocket more, while the Full Burst Mode Strike Freedom has more stuff i heard the MGEX one is better kit.
Also with all the add ons being sold separately it is literally DLC for Gunpla.

Welp I got tired of watching review videos of this and the MG Barbatos so I bought them yesterday and am receiving them today.
The MGEX Unicorn only costed me $215 with tax because I'm amazon prime shipping is already paid for.

Pretty good led system, much better than the PG one, the only problem is the price and stickers for the antenna!!!!!!
For that price, you shouldn't have to put a sticker to color the inside of the antenna!!!!!!!

Can we just get a Perfect Grade Nu Gundam, with the psycho-frame transformation like the Ver.Ka? I love Unicorn but there are plenty of Gundams from UC that deserve some love. Victory 2 anyone?
I would love a PGU Nu. Idealistically they could really improve upon the metal build while carrying some of the proportion from the RG nu and I bet it will be instantly sold out even if it is sold for 350-400 a pop. But I would object the psycho-frame design on it though. I thought that was too gimmicky and flashy and 'unrealistic' on a wall machine (yea I can't stand Unicorn at all it is imo one of the ugliest and stupidest gundam design ever imo). On the other hand, I absolutely love the new PGU rx-78-2, as a guy who never cared for the original gundam I must say they have done a great job modernizing the details and proportion of it. I can only that the PGU Nu will be even a step or two above that.
@@blipblip That's a fair opinion. I think the psycho-frame would translate well to a larger sizing and with all the practice Bandai gets with the Unicorn they could actually make it pretty cool with their lighting systems, or at least I would think so. I would totally be one to drop the big bucks on it if they released one. But seriously they need to give some other suits love. Plus it might bring some attention to other shows that aren't exactly loved like others, for example, Victory which is pretty wack and rough but still good and the Victory 2 is a pretty fun design. Or we can beg Bandai to make the Mammoth Gundam from Mobile Fighter G

250 bucks eh ... ya know this would be the part where i make a witty snarky comment about people putting so much money into plastic toys. But frankly, as someone that loves building n painting 40k minis, and has a habit to buy high grade 1/700 % 1/350 models of IJN ships ... im not without sin. And those high quality GunPlas look DAMN smashing.
Then again, from a pure rational point of view: A Tamyia 1/350 Yamato is a giant load of plastic, metal barrels, photoetch, compared to those Gundams.
But he ... if someone wants to make nice vids about it, the software&camera costs are prob same XD

I have all of a sudden stumbled upon Gunpla and I am enthralled with the whole process. I’m an artist and want to use the gunpla to study for drawing as well. Do you know which gunpla character has the most thrusters? Or panels that open/close to reveal framework underneath?

Finally, somebody that says it's very good, but *overpriced*. Hardly any other reviews talk about the prices. For that price, an MG kit to be very good is just EXPECTED, not amazing. It's more than 4x the price of an average MG kit.

I don’t think there will be a Phenex MGEX or even a Banshee Norn MGEX. Reason: lighting the backpack. There isn’t any good way of lighting the DE Shields and the Armed Armor XC.
What's the best method to get replacement parts? Was working on Dantalion last night and accidentally broke off a piece of the massive backpack.
the MGEX is the best iteration. the PG looks more like a daban KO glorified inner frame due to needing the space for the led wiring. that said i still like my PG Unicorn but would much prefer the MGEX if i had to choose only one physical representation of the Unicorn.

But it's the pricing of those products - there is making a product for your most popular IP, then there is taking advantage of the fact that the IP is popular to overprice the product.
