Awesome flying, dude! Keep going!!!
Awesome work man!! Can't wait for Part 3 😍😍😍
You went back to the front dive once when you got turned around! The saga continues! 😂
It was entirely a confidence thing. I knew it was better, and I tried to think about how I was doing it in practice earlier, but so many times I would bail on the line while flying because I had lost confidence. My best 3 laps did come with 3 straight laps using that line though. But I never did it that way consistently again, I just knew I should be.
John E Fly yeah, exactly the same for me. Best qualifier was with the straight dive on track 1, but then I did my best lap with the 180 on track 1 in the top 16 brackets on Saturday. I always under-perform in qualifiers though, for some reason. That’s why I got to 41 from all the way down at 87 or whatever my GQ rank was.
Nice !!
Wohoo!
Ha ha ha I didn’t know the other Costa Rica pilots video bombed you!
Is there a common frame and motor ppl are bringing to this race? Tough course!
not at all, setups are really all over the place. Lots of variety.
can you do some racing tips on how to go faster?
also whenever i go to a race i alway dont go as fast as i can. i always endup thinking of “just finish dont go fast” which slows me down a lot. what should i do?
I would say this is probably the best video I've done yet on learning to go faster: ua-cam.com/video/WHka7b_rqpI/v-deo.html
I can do some more in the future, but it is pretty tough right now with the weather up here. I haven't flown a 5" since champs honestly. We'll see how it goes. Regarding going as fast as you can at a race, I think that's normal. Consistency is more important than all out speed at a race. Being able to fly at a consistent fast pace knowing you could possibly push a bit harder if you really need to in a heads up race is key. I think it makes sense to work on consistent laps over speed in practice, and keep pushing the speed while not allowing yourself to crash (find a way to punish crashing to prevent you from doing it).
JohnE's channel has tons of good videos with racing tips - I really liked this one as well: ua-cam.com/video/OHV8Afy6wfo/v-deo.html
