I love seeing Affinity getting stronger and stronger. I been using them for 6+ years and I feel like the editing is becoming a real contender with other software.
I updated my beta from within 2.6 to the newer version, and it did a fantastic job selecting a tree. But where can I find the notes on the new version?
Some comments I read mention the segmentation model is likely the free SAM model from Meta. This supposition was based on the quality and style of the masking.
Meta you say? Uh-oh… I’m not an expert; is there a way for Meta to have planted spyware without Serif’s/Affinity’s knowledge that could pull an Adobe on us? I really do hope that this won’t be the case.
Hi @pieralessi7426, good question....I also did not receive any email about the 2.6 beta. I'm not sure if they forgot to send it out, or maybe they decided to only inform a small subset of people. With a big feature like the Object/Subject selection, maybe they wanted to roll it out gradually?
Sorry to hear that...which version of MacOS are you on? After the initial 2.6 beta release, they changes the requirements for MacOS to be on "recent OS's" (not Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey).
Add in should be a function within the object selection brush. This version is worth less, as it is uncertain what the selection will be. Unless you want to select simple things like billiard balls, which is 1 or 2 clicks with the regular selection brush😂😂.

I like the Mat Selection you showed on the hair, I'll have to play with that as looks to do a good job
Well, I’m late to the livestream it enjoying the recording.
Thanks Trent!
