Awesome job you did restoring the bean slicer to working order. It looks much better too. Excellent work. By the way, this is the first time I have heard of or seen a bean slicer before.
It's used to make "French" cut green beans. It is often called a bean Frencher. I think it's an American thing. Food companies often sell canned or frozen French cut green beans.
i love your videos! It's obvious that you love this "work"! In my opinion, every video you make is getting better and better quality! You can be very proud of your work! much love ❤️

You did a great job on it. Very impressed by your work, filming and editing. The tool itself wouldn’t be one I’d be reaching for. Keep more coming please.
I have to say , I have never seen one of those in my part of the world. May be we just like small knives instead. Honestly you just keep getting better at everything you do 😜
All these devices of simplifying and speeding up preparing foods usually has a big drawback: how do you clean it properly? :P Looks treat though, but as a clean-freak I'll stick with a knife hehe
Another great job. What is the deciding factor in whether to remove casting marks or not? Client preference? Trying to stay authentic to original process?
Thank you 🙏🏼 Depends on the project and what goal I want to achieve. On this one I just thought that leaving casting marks and putting it to the original state as close as possible would be the best thing to do 🙂 Just personal preference

@@DrHutOfHandcraft I must have terrible files then because attacking a hard weld in a small confined curved space takes me forever to make much headway.
@@Benzyl well it depends on the weld. If you weld cast steel with regular welding you harden the steel and it’s pretty much impossible to file it without proper hardened files, which are really expensive. In that video I used cast electrodes which are specially for cast steel

9:15 If I can make a suggestion? Stick a ring magnet to the bottom of that sieve and small items won't fly off.
Omg why didn’t think of that? What a great idea mate, thank you! One of the screws jumped out and I had to search for it in the glass beads 😅
Muy bueno desde Argentina

at close up view . there are small nicks on those blades. a small diamond coated file would smooth the edges

You know it's going to be a good video when the restorer uses hollow ground (aka. "Gunsmith") screwdrivers.
😄 I have them for a couple of months now, love them
@@DrHutOfHandcraft judnging from the blade alone, not seeing the handle, makes me think they're wiha?

Mostly glass beads or corundum. Never tired walnut shells before

That song at the end, wasn’t that played in The Omen?
I don’t know. It’s called Carol of the bells

I was way off. What I was thinking of is called, Tubular Bells, in the movie, The Exorcist, not The Omen.
God forgive me.

I think the blades need to be sharpened. The beans shouldn't be squashed like that.

Hand filing weld? Ain't nobody got time for that donkey work.
With a good file it’s very fast and more detailed

Maybe don't wiggle each and every single part, makes the video seem repetitive. Like using the same cutscenes over rand over. 😉
I don’t really understand what you mean 😅
Not very useful is it?
Well I use it as a decoration piece and it was fun restoring it, so for me it was “useful” 😄
