Exploring the Indiana Statehouse (Capitol)

We continued our Capitol Treks in Indiana, this time in Indianapolis at the Indiana Statehouse, which is what the Hoosier State calls its state Capitol.
Opened in 1888 and restored to its historic grandeur in the 1980s, this huge Capitol building is one to definitely put on your to-do list when you're passing through Indiana.

It really was something to see. They told us it had recently been refinished, because the glass top that sits on it now wasn't there, so for years all of the inlaid wood and carving was exposed to whatever people set on the table!

I work here! Thank you for doing such a great job showcasing our awesome capital building. It's one of my favorite buildings in downtown Indy. Beautiful for sure!
