Thank you so much for these honest words of advice. Most people only talk about how there's a lot of scope as if everything is going to be great and magical, but reality is, that doesn't happen to most people.
I would say everyone reading this comment, please consider the tips this guy is giving very seriously as i'm one of the perfect example of this video. I'm 2022 passout from tier-3 college with interest in AI/ML but in order to get a direct domain based job i opted for off campus and after nearly 30+ rejections and interview failures i got a job offer for just 4LPA but im very happy because of the projects i'll be working onto. Dont consider salary as your 1st priority if you want to start a career in this domain that's my opinion Thank you Nachiketa for putting out the reality of AI field as a career in india
Honestly, one to two years to learn a serious skill set seems pretty fast to me. Once I decided to take learning programming seriously, it took three years of multiple hours of study a day for me to get to the point where I felt I could build non-trivial projects.
I've got about 10 years of experience now and I do have a decent job. Having said that, I still wouldn't say I feel like I have all the skills I need and I have to learn new things and remind myself of previous things I've learned regularly. Studying never stops. What I'd say about the value of a student fresh out of their Bachelor's is that, if they are trained to know relevant aspects of ML in a decent degree, they might be quite useful so long as they were taught relevant modern practices. Infact, some practitioners have quite out-dated knowledge and aren't willing to change much. However, the knowledge of a Bachelor's student would be very brittle. They wouldn't be comfortable dealing with unclear and poorly defined problems, which is what most problems are. When you encounter such problems, you need a lot of experience and ways to make progress despite there being nothing to read or examples to follow to move forward. When we take on interns or students doing their Master's thesis we expect them to need a lot of help and to have very clearly defined problems. The ability for students to work independently varies dramatically though and it is partly just an inherent trait some people have and others lack regardless of their technical skills. Moreover, a Bachelor's student would discover that their uni had just one take on what was important and they would encounter different ideas and perspectives very different to their own out in the wild. They'll discover that they didn't really master anything during their studies and they just had a very brittle first snapshot of their field and they should expect to keep learning for the rest of their lives. One good thing about them is that they tend to work hard and want to impress. Older practioners don't care about impressing anyone anymore and care more about work-life balance.
@@looming_ if you want to understand how systems are built from the ground up and can handle the heat, I would highly recommend it. Each startup has a different culture so I cannot comment on that, but you should be comfortable with trying and switching new things early on in your career
@Lonely Boy if you know fullstack and have decent projects in ML you can expect 5-8LPA as a fresher.. then within a year you can improve skills, understand the industry and find better paying roles. Just make sure to maintain good relations with people you meet and do high quality work.
An addition I believe is also important is... if you want a good job with AI, do something useful in a personal project, publish and you will be find! Not the opposite! This is another approach you can take! Because everywhere there is someone looking for performance, not knowledge!! Because of that, diplomas don't have much value! And when you think about deep mind or something related, prepare your PHD or a very good participation in a project! They are looking for results, not theory! A good theory results in good results! ;)
Totally agreed with you. Most of them think they are successful only if they work in top MNCs. And for a field like AI, getting into proper AI research role is only possible in startup’s in India. This is because the big MNC companies usually have their r and d teams in America. I did my masters in artificial intelligence and machine learning from Manipal and I’m working as an ML intern in a startup.

The only thing is that they want to see that you are actually serious about your career path and that you show promise. As well as that, you will be staying with them for a good amount of time until they get a return on their investment. So they may sometimes make you sign a contract that they will pay for the your school but you need to stay at least so many years with the company. For example, my contract states that they will pay for the $300k MIT education, and I in return will stay with them for at least 5 years. Then after that time, I have the option to get a 300% raise and stay with the company or leave the company to do something else and be an on-call consultant for them for at least another 10 years while still being paid the same. So basically that means I will get to find another job or start my own start-up and still be paid the same amount of money I make now, which is a good amount, and all I have to do is consult them whenever they call me which won't be often like 5 to 8 times a month. Is it good to take AIML engineering or CSE
Bro Aiml is worth or not
The reason why those companies don't hire peoples except phd and MSC holders is that you guy don't yell one truth about machine learning and AI, that it is complete Deep Mathematics: deep probability, statistics, vector calculus and optimization and linear algebra, sometimes coding knowledge like python is not the priority for a AI and ML Engr, because heIIh
thanks dude
I need a suggestion from you bro
Currently I'm in data science field as fresher dealing with numpy and pandas and flask api i want to learn and work on ML algorithms side
How can I learn ML can u suggest any online course where they teach by practical experience and how can I learn from participating in kaggle competition
AAIC
I would suggest you to go for a masters than going for any online course...
I agree with 100% what you said but people only understand the package of you not the work you put to build this model's hardwork and .....
Hey man great video! its very confusing, just need one suggestion from you. Is it worth doing the MS in AI/ML or go the hard way without degree that you described?
Thanks bhaia
Here this is mw who is doing English literature degree with when everyone else is talking about ai 😢😂😂😂😂
@everyone in the comments, u guys dont get it ha? we will all be out of jobs, even the devs that create AI . developing the ultimate neural network will be like a nuclear bomb of knowledge , too strong for humanity. elon musk sated that they started openAI to learn how to regulate AI , not how to improve it. he states that it will be here one day if we want it or not
Thanku❤️
I think it will be better in the future
True faced the same senario!
Startups will fetch hell of work.
all the words you said are resonating with my current situation(like doing it for 2 hrs or 5 hrs etc...). I am 2 nd yr of uni.... Now i am confused because i am not good in data structures and algo. I am passionate in ml and ai(just began from 5 days). Dont know what to do now......
I can understand that a bachelor's degree is not enough to get a job in AI major ?
It was very nice vedio
6 ML-related job HRs contacted me last year and I got an intern at big company easily. This year I sent out 15+ resumes with no reply at all......
I have Completed BE in Chemical Engineering...can i do MS un AI
Yes iisc banglore provide the course
This video sorted an important issues for me so first of all thank you 😊
I will appreciate your answer one more consideration- what you think is the chance to start and develop a decent career now that I am 40 years old? And considering to take an expensive course in ai develop. I consider my self smart enough but not a genius and I don’t have any experience in any computer field. And to be totally honest it’s not my dream job, I just want to make lots of money.. Do you think it can be possible for me to succeed in this field? Thanks a lot 🙏🏽❤🕉️
I am looking for a new and better career path that I can do so I could continue making music as that is my passion.. but I want to do it without financial worries that I have now.. that is who consider ai
I have completed my graduation (BSc) with PCM group. I am planning for AI and Emerging Technology course at IIT Hyderabad. Can anyone suggest me about this particular course? Should I do it or drop this idea?
bro , I'm also in last yrs of same Bsc course , btao yrr kuch kya kru , what are you doing ?
Should not reveal secrets like this 😂😂😂
Does this still hold up after the onset of ai and chat gpt like models?
Bruhhh!!!
I don’t know if you know this but your accent is super heavy!!! 😩
I just can’t.
Very good...
so software engineering is better than AI???
Yes, much easier to go from SWE to AI than the other way.
thanky you
