@@ADobbin1Actually untrue. This classified as level 4 self driving and currently these kinds of vehicles are only allowed to drive 30mph. But the difference between level 4 and level 3 (Tesla for example) is that human input is not required but human can still override (For example to drive on a road that the automation does not recognize), as such the manufacturer has to take full responsibility of all actions the car takes while in self driving mode. DISCLAIMER: I do not actually know what this BMW proof of concept model is and cannot confirm if it is or is not level 4 self driving. I am basing the fact that the steering column not being accessible to mean that it is level 4.
When the car sees something you can't see it will make chuffing noises to comfort you like the one your tiger on the gold chain at home makes. Then you'll know that it's all gonna be OK.
if there’s one thing i want with an expensive car , its to not be able to have a wheel, just incase the auto pilot fails or malfunctions. this sounds perfect 😂
So what it does is put on a little light that means nothing unless you already know what it is, has no airbag deployment or crash safety, and doesn't let you take control of the car if it's auto driving and messing up! Not to mention that it makes a ton of noise because it needs to *breathe*
I have often thought that if you want to build driverless cars the key is to build smart roads. Roads that communicate to the car, that limit obstacles and that links one car with all vehicles around them as a network. Controlling the paths / speeds etc... the cars then basically act more like smart horizontal elevators.
In the 1970's there were textbooks that said that by the year 2000, all cars would work on a principle resembling slot cars. The car would pull onto the road and attach to the slots and stay on the slots until the destination where it would disengage. The power for the vehicle would come from the slots and would decelerate to avoid accidents. The only time the driver could steer or accelerate was to park.
Smart roads and smart cars would require wireless internet access which the US, China, Canada, India, Russia, and most countries don’t have 100% wifi access most notably wifi isn’t available in rural or remote regions of these countries. AI is the most efficient way to make self driving cars that can drive anywhere and isn’t reliant on wifi.
Love that the wheel goes away. So in an emergency situation you're sure to get into an accident, but so worth it for that slightly more comfortable arm room.

So it will take six seconds for you to regain control in an emergency?
Those triangles are like the absurd designs coming down the runway that the critics applaud, and sensible people roll their eyes.
An engineer once said the more moving parts the more places the thing has to break
Agreed
Exactly where my mind went. When I was a mechanic I always felt dread at seeing shit like this. Some people don't fully understand you're just making another fail point.
My consern was when the steering wheel went inside, it fully lacks a failsafe if auto pilot screws up
A businessman once said the more moving parts, the more places the thing has to break, the more money we can charge to fix it😂
I was thinking the same thing.
Girl got that batmobile controls 💀
Im so glad that if there's ever an emergency in self drive mode i wont be able to do anything to prevent an accident because my damn steering wheel disappeared.
😂😂😂😂😂
I like my human instincts and would rather have my hand on the wheel especially because there are some dome drivers out there. Ever seen the movie Demolition Man as in one of the scenes he is trying to drive a high tech car and all he does is end up crashing.
you'll still be held liable though.
Exactly what I was thinking
This is the best marketing campaign honda and Toyota could have asked for

1. why can't we see it?
2. it will phantom break won't it...
It’s playing supersonic sound at this point in the video
Which word?
So what it does is put on a little light that means nothing unless you already know what it is, has no airbag deployment or crash safety, and doesn't let you take control of the car if it's auto driving and messing up! Not to mention that it makes a ton of noise because it needs to *breathe*
It's like they are showcasing their worst ideas lol
Rich people think the most excessive shit is just so✨c o o l✨
I have often thought that if you want to build driverless cars the key is to build smart roads. Roads that communicate to the car, that limit obstacles and that links one car with all vehicles around them as a network. Controlling the paths / speeds etc... the cars then basically act more like smart horizontal elevators.
Bro tell this to someone other than a comment section shit
That's genius
Naturally that's already started in china
In the 1970's there were textbooks that said that by the year 2000, all cars would work on a principle resembling slot cars. The car would pull onto the road and attach to the slots and stay on the slots until the destination where it would disengage. The power for the vehicle would come from the slots and would decelerate to avoid accidents. The only time the driver could steer or accelerate was to park.
Yea bro wat about potholes 😮😂😂
Smart roads and smart cars would require wireless internet access which the US, China, Canada, India, Russia, and most countries don’t have 100% wifi access most notably wifi isn’t available in rural or remote regions of these countries. AI is the most efficient way to make self driving cars that can drive anywhere and isn’t reliant on wifi.
Those diamonds are waiting to fly into your face when the car crashes😂

Love that the wheel goes away. So in an emergency situation you're sure to get into an accident, but so worth it for that slightly more comfortable arm room.
You're imagining that humans will be able to react better than the computer controlling the car...
@@StabbyMcStabStabAI isn’t at a point yet that it can think and react better than a human brain. Why do you think pilots still fly airplanes even when they have autopilot? They’re there for the emergencies

@@StabbyMcStabStabbugs still can happen. Self-driving tech is great, but you should allow the driver to take the final decisions in case of emergency
@@StabbyMcStabStab We don’t know how long that will take. It could be a few years or it could be a few centuries. Sure we can predict it but it’s not a definitive answer. But while we are still here in the present, that feature is worse than useless, it’s a detriment
