Good aircraft always stay good. I own and fly a 1992 Funfex and it's awesome. All those old Cessna's flying for decades show us that well maintained aircraft are always good.
Old Hang Glider Pilot here ! started HG lessons June 1980. I paid $500 for my first wing (Manta Wings -180) w/ two harnesses. I still fly whenever ever possible, in Central California USA we have some good options on sites, but we are losing more every year. 😓
A very similar design is still manufactured in Brazil to this day under the name Skyway "Sky", I flew one today! It was originally called Brisa, and was a mashup between the Moyes Mega and UP Gemini, with some extra tweaks over time, so it's quite similar to the Mars. The sail is mostly the same, but it got a floating cross bar added some time in the 80s. That model was my first glider (made in 2019), now a friend owns it. I regret selling and bought another made in 2016. Handles really nice. Always good to own a single surface glider, and I really don't mind that it's not the latest Malibu 2 or Falcon 4.
My UP comet would fly as well now as it did when I last flew it in 1990. The air is the same and when I flew I always flew for my own experience not for being the hottest pilot or the guy that flew the farthest. I knew guys that could with old gliders fly rings around pilots the pilots with the latest gear. Sure there’s tech improvements and performance advantages but those only matter if they matter to you. I say fly for yourself because when you are older those experiences are the ones that stay fresh.
Now that is a fun day! Loved the carving
Moyes gliders only get better with age. Great to see familiar faces. Where's my Altair? 😉

Cool!... I used to fly a Mars 170 when I was 19 (58 now!). It flew beautifully.
Well that looked like a lot of fun! A nice day out in the sun...
You Rock Man! Thanks for all of your fine work documenting for us how to get high!
Thanks mate👍

Well said
How strong do the winds have to be before You consider & "Go For It !!" hang gliding?
At this site you need at least 15 knots
Depends on where. In thermal flights it could be zero.
6:00 wahout strut ?
Yep came out , the elastic needs changing
wait do you mean the men or the kites?
🤣both
Men are called pilots ;)
