@ The NTT(Nuclear Throne Together) one? That one was developed over the years by YellowAfterLife and they just eventually added as one of the beta branches, it allows mod support and fixes some vanilla game bugs (like the rad logic, some van spawn stuff that idr, they also recently fixed a corpse bug that affected Wrists)
Rebel also makes good use of Sharper Teeth and Stress mutations due to their ability to reliably damage themself without accidentally committing self-die. Also rhino skin makes their passive "stronger" by giving you more missing health to heal at the end of every stage
Rebel is the _only_ character I'd take Sharp Teeth on; even then, it's not high on my list of priorities. There's so much other stuff you want as Rebel Basically, Sharp Teeth is almost useless unless you're playing Rebel; then it's just "okay"

Honestly, rebel is a very fun character to play when you understand how to play her correctly, the summons can make the game alot funnier, ex: one time, i was playing as rebel, when i got to the throne (i was gonna loop), i hid where the uh...the thingies you destroy were, then i spammed the summons when throne was low, they actually somewhat helped, when i got out, i just started blasting lol
Rebel's great and I think A-tier is very fair, maybe even too generous. She has sky-high DPS... if you can get the build going. You need a lot of mutations to get the most out of her active and that's not a guarantee You ain't really cooking unless you get at least Rhino Skin and Throne Butt, and Second Stomach/Bloodlust is a huge boost too (Second Stomach is better early on, Bloodlust is better once you loop IMO)

Crystal should be S tier in ANY tier list (...maybe except for trolling one). She sturdy, she's safe. Best active in the game. Maybe a little too broken
If you can't handle her teleport, just don't take it (skill issue btw). A free skill slot for other important mutation. It's not like she need thorn butt to be good
The problem with Crystal is that she just doesn't do anything else, she has more hp and that's all, the shield is mostly worthless post loop due to how many melee enemies there are and bullets coming at you, what are you gonna do with 20 hp? Hug enemies until they die? Fish is much better since he pretty much has infinite ammo and can actually loop easily

And with the meta of Rad Shove + SPC it even more true than ever Yes 20 hp is huge. It’s nearly impossible for you to not getting hit post loop due to how many thing going at once. I lost count how many time I die due to bad-no cover-rng Just go look for your self nuclear throne leader broad and you can see most of them going for crystal
All characters are actually incredibly balanced. There isnt a bad character just different playstyles. My best characters are Eyes, Fish, and Robot in that order but my friend swears by Steriods and refuses to ever play Eyes, and he's better than I am. It's rare that a game has every character as balanced as this one does.

@@Dbdgoon skeleton is designed to be bad until you get to his ultra and if you are running bloodlust you can just spam spc because it wont consume ammo and the faster reload stacks with trigger fingers so you can just have a near infinite spc
i think detachment is a lot better then you said, with crown of death it allows you to not have any downside while taking it (before rhino skin of course) and 3 extra mutations does alot. honestly due to the ability to negate the downside i think its just as good as brain capacity
Eyes is litterally the best character. Throne butt+euphoria+long arms+extra feet+ultra mutation that pulls enemies back makes makes you basically a god
My friends always told me Eyes was the worst but he was the first character I ever looped with. Euphoria + throne butt is almost as good as Crystal defensively. The difference is it made me more aware of dodging whereas with Crystal I get complicit and eventually forget to shield. Eyes will always hold a special place in my heart because I showed my friends his potential and they eventually gave in and admitted he's good.
Honestly, I'd wishlist it and grab it if it's on sale. As much as I love the game and have a crap load of hours in it, it's still getting on in years and it's made on Gamemaker which has a history of stability issues. Hope that helps!
If you haven't bought it yet, you should. I've played this game on and off for 8 years now and it never gets old. I think I have 150 hours in it with only Terraria surpassing it on steam with 250.
rogue and steroids being worse than melting, the character that gets dunked on by palace dogs past L0, is kinda insane ngl. then again, i rate characters based on how successful they are at getting to L3 every run, and melting's dead last in that category. Not enough room for mistakes.
Melting has the craziest "character arc" - starts out absolutely awful, but once you get the Mutations you want he's the most cracked character by far Still think he's pretty mid because you're not guaranteed to get the Mutations you want and because yeah he's awesome once you loop but are you gonna risk your Daily on him?

That puts melting into get-1shot-by-palace-dog territory, an awful place to be, even if you get rhino. He’s…good if you’re constantly restarting runs if you don’t get SS by level 9, heh
bullet builds are fun but SUCK AAAAAAASS, his ultras SUCK AAAAAAAASS. it's literally so bs that steroid's throne butt is better than both of his ultras.
He overrates Robot and Fish, underrates Crystal, Plant and Eyes I would argue he overrates Rebel because you need so many mutations to get the build working right and that's not guaranteed. Also getting rekt by shielders is a serious issue in loops Horror really IS that good, though

Steroids is the best for rambo style, twin weapon, none stop shooting, fuck what's not to love he kicks ass
Steroids is the speedrunning *king* - he can go from 1-1 to taking out the Throne in under 5 minutes
