I just found you on utube last week speaking about cruises. Imagine my delight to see that you had past videos talking about my favorite vacation subject,Disney World! The description you gave of receiving love was beautiful
It was so interesting to hear about your character experience. I had a great experience with Mickey, Goofy,Chip & Dale. I had the first reservation for lunch at Garden Grill and was able to get a picture with all of the characters at the same time. I still remember the interaction. =)
What a cool experience, to be the recipient of so much love and joy! I am looking forward to whatever you have up your sleeve for the next few weeks. :D
Can you ask them to watch the video and let me know how much of what I described is still relevant nowadays? I'm so curious to hear how much has changed and what is still the same.
So sorry, Morgan! It turns out that my friends who worked for Disney Parks Entertainment (dancer, drummer, costumed character) did it at about the same time as you did. If you haven't already, you might want to "sign up" on LaughingPlace.com and/or MousePlanet.com. Both are really friendly sites with lots of members who work(ed) for The Mouse. Just create a thread with a link to your vid and a question about how things have changed. I'm sure you'll get lots of replies.
I have been looking forward to this story for so long, Its always been a dream of mine to work for Disney, but life got in the way. I loved this video. Thank you for sharing this. So excited for whatever you have planned for next Sunday!!!
I would of love to do what you did, but really anything where I can work directly with the family and kids and make there experience an amazing one. I just love to see kids smile and making them have a "Magical Moment" as they call it at Disney.
Love your stories Morgan! I cant wait to find out what you have in store for us next weekend. I know you've spoken about a group cruise before and I understand your reservations but would you consider joining the seacruisers on one of theirs? I'm going on the MSC Seaside with them in January and thought it would be amazing if you joined the group!
LOL I was never a character but I certainly danced those parades and it was ROUGH!!! People would finish and get sick all the time LOL Also you remember the endless supply of mini Powerades? Lol
I am ashamed to say that I had a little tiff with Chip & Dale in the revolving restaurant in The Land (something about the chocolate chip nose) - really weird trying to “argue” with a character that couldn’t talk (just head nod or shake head for no)! Anyway - it was a lot of fun! I also truly enjoyed the character breakfast at the Empress Lily Steamboat - have a funny pic of my husband with Goofy (I think we were the only adults there without a child)!! I had heard about the secret underground world under Disneyland - now I know someone who actually traversed thru those underground hallways!! I think I’m going to miss story time, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy whatever you plan to do instead!
+Amy Neumann Haha! How quickly rumors get started! I'm just taking a break from the format for a few weeks to try something else! It will still be fun and informative and travel related, you'll see!
bonnie bergstein yeah I did hear that part but I thought that meant in addition. You are right though. But, like you and he said I’m sure it will be great.
OMG! Cast members had to ...... use their oratory skills to pontificate? Imagine that? Using your lips and mouth to communicate with another human being? Being over 55 now, I still do that, as it appears to be a lost art now! ;-) P.S. I'm going to miss your "Sunday Chats with Morgan" as I've made it part of my Sunday afternoon routine (because of the time zone change, you see). Can't wait to see what you've got cooked up for us in 2 weeks!
Just wondering, do you know how often they cleaned the fur costumes? After hearing you talk about how sweaty you are, some of that had to get onto the costume -- so I guess you'd put on a costume that had other peoples' dried sweat???? Ugh.
When I was in high school in the early 1990's I worked as a costume character at Chuck E. Cheese. So I can relate to this story.

Morgan: Hug, hug, hug, hug, hug, hug!!!!! Hope you know we all send you hugs.
Thank you! I feel good!
So hyped to see what kind of new format you have for us next week! Amazing work and awesome story Morgan!

You'd think they would use ice vests or something to cool people down in those suits. My hats off to anyone who would wear those hot suits.
This was a great sunday storytime !! Really enjoyed it , thanks .Looking forward to the new videos too .x
I will miss Sunday storytime...
You may want to look at "The Big Comfy Couch" series. If you have not seen it yet, it may be worth a try. You could show it to Marcus as well!
Great edition of Storytime, Morgan! I know peeps who worked as performers at WDW, but I still learned things watching this vid!

Do you have an idea of what it is you want to do at Disney?

Then being a character or a greeter would be just right for you!
Thank you I really appreciate you saying that.

bonnie bergstein wait, what? I didn’t hear where he said he wasn’t doing story time anymore. That can’t be true Morgan! Please say it isn’t so.
Amy Neumann - watch the video again (and read the other comments). Morgan said that he’ll be doing something new & different on Sundays!

Yes, we actually talked. With our mouths. To each other in the same room. Isn't that strange???
How hard was it NOT to speak in costume and did you ever slip and speak?
Were you ever Winnie the pooh or friends?
Nope, sorry!
At the end of your explanation about "being onstage for a half an hour, offstage for a half an hour", an ad came on for Disney. Isn't that funny?

There were also liners inside the costumes that could be taken out and washed, if I remember correctly.
Second comment
