Namco doesnt take paul serious anymore , same with law. That's why they are comedic rivals. No way they make him rival with the anime edgelord main villain , best they can do is bryan. They took away his spotlight against ogre in that netflix show.
That would make all the tekken fans way too happy for the devs, they don’t want to see us happy. The story mode has been in decline for so long, when Paul used to run the story mode and be a top rival in it they used to be so good :(

In MMA, fighters usually have a "base". It's the martial they started with or are most comfortable with and their fighting style represents this. Alex Pereira/Adesanya have a kickboxing base, Jon Jones wrestling, Charles Oliveira BJJ, Ronday Rousey Judo etc. Essentially, every character does "Mixed Martial Arts" in Tekken, sometimes you can clearly identify a certain base. In Paul's case, it is undeniably Judo. I am by no means a Judo expert but I identified 8 Throws that are clearly done 1:1 like in Judo. (Ippon Seoi Nage, o-soto-gari, o-soto-guruma, soto-makikomi, tomoe-nage, morote-gari, hadaka-jime, juji-gatame) And then with some fantasy you see throws that are inspired by judo moves, like a "reverse" o-goshi, ura nage, kosoto-gari. And in general some moves are very much Judo-like. So I have to disagree, really fitting name. He obviously does MMA (like any other character without weapons i.g) but his fighting style is very much influenced by his Judo background.
