Electricity in Myanmar is super cheap compared to most of the rest of the world. I checked the kWh price two years ago.
Yangoon seems like a nice place for middle income Americans to retire. My wife and I get nice social security payments each month from the government. It is hard to make ends meet at home but it seems we could easily live a rich lifestyle in Myanmar.

i am a bachelor and live aboard my 38 foot Sail Boat on the Island here in deep South Texas , my Mercedes Roadster only holds 2 people .... However .... i would gladly pay the lease on a large condo if Aoi San , Phoo , Sandi and Snow were my '' roommates '' !!!!
I think there is still a travel advisory against travel to Myanmar at least in the U.S. I know that doesn't stop a lot of people though.

Also dont be afraid to be quite firm when renting about the electricity bill. Its so easy for them to charge whatever rate so really do research and check your bill frequently otherwise it can be a huge bill up to 80% of the months rent so i made the mistake of paying double rent my first month.

Now this is a video that helps us farangs decide if they want to make a move to Myanmar (yangon in particular). Some people are saying Thailand is becoming to expensive so finding or having alternate places that are still cheap is good to know.
