Comments now turned off as when videos go viral I get a lot of randoms making uninformed comments and assumptions. Now go and actually look at content that matters like the work of Jochen from Myanmar and Sonne!🥲😪
@@tinlinhtay455 As I live and work here I need to show teachers and tourists our normal lives here. The sensationalist UA-camrs with guns on thumbnails and making up fake content to sell their videos helps nobody and is outright unethical. It just makes people not know what is true and what is not. As I’m nearly 60 and live and work here like so many other foreigners people need to see from us how things are
For those who keep asking me about healthcare and medical and insurance, I have no clue as my work takes care of all that! As I live and work here as a teacher your school will manage all that. In the teachers playlist I also did a video on medical and general tips on life here
Appreciate these videos. I am relocating to Yangon later this month for work, and your videos help paint a more realistic picture of expat life there without all the fearmongering. Thanks to you, i know theres a Bonchon 😂
For us foreigners, life is very comfortable here. You can easily go from your condo in a taxi to a lovely bar, restaurant and cafe and have a beautiful inexpensive life and never even see the reality of how the ordinary local people live like I show in my food donation videos or the work of Jochen and Sonne. We are privileged. Im in Kalaw now and it is paradise here but super sad for the locals to look at magnificent places all empty because international tourists no longer come. It makes me want to cry. Tourisim used to supplement their 3 to 4USD a day subsistence existences. Burmese people are such a treasure. Every year I fall more in love with here.
Thank you for the video showing us around the city. It is really great content and advice for upcoming foreigners visiting Yangon. I hope you continue making more.!!!
Subscribed! So glad to see the content that shows this side of the city as well. Otherwise, even this local person, born and raised in Ygn, gets discouraged to live here after a video or two, showcasing non-existent threats and whatnot 😅 Wishing well for the other parts of the country though ❤
I'm so glad you feel the same as me about dealing with all the misinformation all those crazy visiting UA-camrs create. Sure as we live here there are things we can't talk about in a public forum, but yes making up stuff and putting pictures of guys with guns on a thumbnail is not the way to go either. Same, I'm off to Shan State in a couple of days to the lower part not up North. I'm hoping to paint a more rounded view of life here but it's hard as a small account. The big drop in and out ones even the Burmese simp on. Edited to say I'm also doing a video on the IDP camps in Chin state this month. I show all sides of life here.
@@LizafromWhere I will make sure to watch that one. I just watched the content you just recently uploaded. That's a tough and heart-broken story. Let's pray for all in Myanmar suffering from the wars.
I think the original Rangoon Tea House was actually upstairs in Pansodan Street, near Merchant Road if my memory serves me correctly. The Golden Valley location came later, I believe.
The rainy season is a great time for travelling and filming for UA-camrs as its less hot and you get the beautiful cloud cover. It rains on and off but apparently, it's much hotter here than Vietnam currently according to Niki! Ha summer definitely is not travelling and filming time for me as its BBQ weather even for locals. Edited to say now I am in Kalaw 16 July and the weather is perfect here and no problems to travel in rainy season at this time even as a UA-camr with gear!
That's a great video. I already watched that video. Actually i watched all the videos which are made by them.🤭 Your work is great i love your video content.
Thank you so much 😀. Finally after a year of UA-cam I learnt how to do it. I will have some very interesting and surprising stuff coming up for you soon. Better and better!
I started making videos because when I had a job offer as a teacher to come here, I could find nothing on the internet about Myanmar. But I came anyway and it has been the best decision in my teaching career to date. Now people are fortunate as since I have been here my channel is drawing other UA-camrs so you have more access to information than ever before. You're welcome!. Just wait until you see my content with my friend from Georgia Niki Proshin who will make great content on here. So I guess that like I said in my teacher videos and like Lucia of Seeds said, to come here you need to be the adventurous type. Otherwise, Thailand is just next door for you;-). As a 'First Mover' I guess by the time this place becomes popular I will move to the next country people will again write me troll messages about how stupid I am to live there. Ha ha life on Social Media
I could make a 2-hour video on more Malls and coffee shops and people still would comment on what I did not cover as I said in my video too much. This was already too long as it stands.
On the media, they always show the bad side of Myanmar and never show the good side. Because of this, some foreigners think Yangon is also dangerous and have no idea about this side of Myanmar, they probably do not even know there are these nice shopping malls, and this pretty much angers me. In Yangon, it is totally fine here and we are functioning perfectly. Thank you for showing this side of Myanmar. A couple days ago, I was watching a youtuber in Yangon (I won't specify his/her name) who said in the title Yangon is dangerous and not safe, and I was pretty suprised to see that because I've been living in Yangon all of my life and nothing bad has happened to me. Another youtuber, who is not that bad as the youtuber I mentioned, always photoshopped in a random Burmese soldier in every thumbnail possible. Although on some occasions, there is soldiers on the sidewalk, its not much. Again, thank you for sharing this side of Myanmar (Yangon).
@microwave-dk6di yes Chai Travel is shocking!! I called him out in my video but not by name. Now I am in Shan State filming. You will see me staying with different hill tribes. I love my life in Myanmar. Niki Proshin is my friend and a YouTTuber. I invited him to Myanmar as I asked him to help me get the truth out about here🙏💜
@@LizafromWhere Yes, chai travel absolutely shocked me too. I was looking for new travel videos for Yangon because I wanted to see what foreigners thought about Yangon, and chai travel really ruined it by saying Yangon is not safe. He described one of the roads in Yangon as a "highway in the city" I don't know if he was making some sort of joke about the road or in a good way. However, what do you expect from a busy city? He should just go to Naypyidaw of he does not want to cross busy roads. Enjoy your trip in Shan State!
