Alessia Cara did an interview about this song and she said Metallica called her and asked her to be on the album and she said she was surprised! She then went on to say that The Warning are amazing people to work with!
An old grandfather here who has never liked head banging stuff but I make an exception for The Warning. I was blown away after hearing their first Sandman, and further blown away by this version. These young ladies are total badasses - love them.

I love the creepy vibe of the whole thing - Goth witch in the forest, the coffinlike doors they're standing in, the descent from light to dark just when the lyrics say "exit light, enter night". The Warning is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The question was asked to Alessia Cara if she wanted to contribute on the album and she is on the same agency as TW and someone suggested to Alessia Cara a cooperation with TW. The rest is history as they say. From Metallica’s point of view in an interview with Rolling Stone

This version is so haunting, like is is being sung from the other side; the spirit world. Pau saying the prayer creeps me out.

Wow you ladies are really fun reactors, this is my first visit to your place. I think its so cool that The Warning and Alessia merged their vocals so well. I think The Warning arranged the music so masterfully it seems fresh and able to reach a whole new generation at the same time paying homage to one of their main inspirations with that ending epic riff of Metallica's. And yes, Dany stole the show LOL, but no one cares if you haul in the groceries right !

I started following these young ladies seeing 10-year-old Pau doing crazy drum covers, and I immediately saw her talent, but now she totally looks like she would murder me in my sleep, I'm kind of scared, lol. Like for real I have been keeping an eye on them since the beginning, I was using a different youtube account back then but I remember commenting on their videos and their dad would actually respond to me. I would love to meet him, he must be super proud.

Have you seen The Warning's original cover of Enter Sandman from 2016??? in an interview about this version Dany explained that they took a chance and reworked it as the dark lullaby Metallica wrote it as. They were actually really concerned if their fans would like it or not! Not a concern... we all LOVE IT!! 🤘🤘🤘😍😍😍

Great reaction ladies. My second time here and listened to your reaction again with you guys. Just came back to tell you in case you don't know that TW performed last year at the Teatro Metropolitan and it's the best produced show they have to date. The mixing and pro shot is first class. So far, the band have dropped around 3/4 of the concert on YT. Every song is killer and of course, they do this song. I really recommend looking into that concert, you won't believe the wall of sound. Cheers!
From what I saw in Rolling Stone and from others is that this is introducing Metallica to some who don’t know them. So glad you picked this up, and I hope Alessia will help more learn about the Warning. Try to have Sweet Dreams!

Good to see that you girls are back ❤ And indeed if you want to check out some music videos from them, they recorded 4 other music videos. The first one is a cover (Foo Fighters - Pretender). The second one is a song from their first album: XXI. Century Blood. And lately they released two singles which are Choke and Evolve.
If The Warning handed us a dirt sandwich, would we love it? Maybe! But yeah, this is great and as a big old dork of a fan I loved it. I hope you haven't yet seen Choke or Evolve because it would be great fun to see your reaction to those! You'll love 'em!

I much prefer covers like this that make the song into something new over ones that sound too similar to the original.
For me it can work both ways. You can have a good more or less faithful cover and a refreshing rework as here. But sometimes it's a mess, say, if you play around too much with the vocal melody while keeping everything else roughly the same.

This came about through Alessia. She was approached by Metallica's "people" to cover a song on the Blacklist - AC & TW Share an international manager Chris Smith from 21 Entertainment & he recommended that they bring in The Warning, everyone agreed and this is the result ⚡️ 🤘🏻

I had to put up with the my-how-you've-grown comments from relatives for much of my teens until they got used to my new height. Since people will continue to discover The Warning by way of their 2014 cover, I expect Ale will have suffer such comments for quite a while yet.

Yeah, they sorta HAD to pick this song for their cover. I think that was their big break, gone viral, when Alejandra was about 9 and they played this song. At least it was the first time I heard of them.

Since 2016 they have completed 3 albums, 4 EP's, and 4 Live albums and one greatest hits. They don't have a bad song the dual lead guitar harmonizing reminds me of Murray/Smith from Iron Maiden and Downing/Tipton from Judas Priest they are in sync with each other. the drummer beats those drums like they stole her boyfriend and she wants him back.
