My hair is currently in cornrows. When I get ready to take out the braids, should I remove the braids in the shower and then proceed to shampoo, condition, and detangle my hair afterward?
Hello, so you could try it but I’m not sure how it would go. Maybe prior to getting in the shower take your cornrows out and apply a moisturizing conditioner and keep some tension on the roots in a ponytail until your ready to get into the shower. It also depends on how many cornrows you have and their size. If they’re small with many then no I wouldn’t suggest it but if they’re more on the larger side and let’s say you only have about 4 cornrows to take out, then you may be able to do it in the shower without the takedown being overwhelming. Just be sure to wet the braids first and saturate them with conditioner to make the takedown in the shower easier for yourself.
