When the this majestic tree fall, the whole area will tremble ,I will never forget it ,it was like the world is coming to an end. It was too loud and scary .we had to hide then went out to check later ,the whole village was shaken ,everyone was asking what happened
Great question. I don't know, to be honest. Baobab regenerates readily from root suckers, so I would guess so . But I've never tried. It also grows so easily from seed that I've never had to try vegetative propagation!
The seeds are easy to use .we grew up with a big baobob tree ,we use to have seedlings everytime ,and we uproot them because we did not want many .after the big one fell ,we kept one which is now less than 20 years old .and it is near the dead one .

Gus did you ever go back to it afterwards to see if there were bigger new shoots?
Covid got in the way. But I will do, I promise!
I am groot. Would it be possible to replant clippings ?

Wow, that was an impressive tree! I hope it makes it upright again.
It was indeed, very impressive. And a real gut wrench when we heard it had fallen down!
Update?!!
Thanks. We are visiting in the next few weeks and will update!
Just drove to it this week and it is gone,,, kaput. Very few remnants remain,. Wouldn't even recognize the area as having had a baobab.
This makes my heart so glad!
Thanks, it made my heart glad too!
Please, please, let it live...
Alive , still a dad sight. Withstood thousand years but succumbed to drought from climate change. Alarm and a slither of hope.
Looks much like Adenium.
