FABULOUS Nancy! Thank you so much for taking my question and showing just how you'd pack for a whole month; I'm honored you laid it all out and took the time. It really doesn't look like a lot more stuff & that's because of the excellent way you pack everything and tuck things underneath your table/bed. You're the master of a clutter-free van camping setup, and you have a special talent for it, so please keep showing your setups and promoting the minimalist/clutter-free technique. THIS is the way to do it, as it makes for an inviting inside space to hang out with room to move around, and everything you need. Brava!
There you are!😂💯 I couldn’t remember who it was, and I didn’t write it down. But thank you for inquiring about it. Thank you for this very kind comment, it means a lot. 😊 Ihopenit was helpful. Have a fantastic day! 😃🙌🏼💯
I agree, gear wise, packing for a week vs a month road trip/ car camping trip not much difference. I do have some bulk food for dietary needs that are hard to locate generally &/or pellet/kitty litter (depending on what you use for toilet) items I’ve repacked into critter proof containers & stashed out of the way in the back of bins or drawers until my every day containers need restocking. Also, as a regional thing to my western area, I am looking at 2 gallon collapsible water containers to stash folded up empty to replace my hardsided water containers that take up so much room for those times when you winter camp in the desert 🌵 and bringing extra water is required. Safe travels.
I love your setup! It is so neat and orderly. Some of the nomads I watch have so much clutter in their vans (regardless of being full time or not) and I could not function like that!
You fit so much in ! Those under bed storage units are fantastic . And you could actually have a taller one for heavy clothes “ if camping in colder weather” and your microfibres towels could hang under bed , to dry if you had to drive away . Thanks for sharing your ideas , organisation is key .. to be free 😀👍
Fantastic... I hate clutter and digging for stuff! I am finding just about anything I would need can be purchased along the way. (I love that new power station, checked it out, great price. Pray all is well!)
What a nice video! I really appreciate the thought that you put into each one. I can’t orient my bed across the width, so I envy your open layout. 😆 (I’m short also, but I have a Kia Carnival.) Thank you for reminding me to focus on the essentials and not on the “just in case” impulses. As an aside, your rock hunting fascinates me! Is it your hobby, or a business? Personally, I just love all rocks! 😁😁😁
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your kind comment. Rock hunting is a hobby for me, although my husband bought me two different types of rock polisher, so I have begun to polish many of the rocks that I have. I’m a lot more particular when hunting rocks these days because I have so many already. So now I just look for hard stones and Petoskey‘s. things that will polish up well. The Great Lakes have so many amazing rocks. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have a fantastic day!😃💯🙌🏼
Ha we finally found some thing you’re taking just in case… Pickle ball gear. We’re all human if it’s some thing really important to us we don’t want to miss out on it. Nice job setting up. The only thing that drives me personally crazy every time I see your kitchen is how empty it is. I love to cook and that is my pickle ball just in case thing that I’d like to have just in case somebody wants to cook a steak with me on a wrought iron skillet or make a soup out of leftovers. My body craves variety, and I like to give it to it. Lol so empty space in the kitchen is the lost opportunity to feed my soul. Also, I like to hike so I have to take a hiking pole and what makes things complicated for me is a 62 pound dog that has always slept next to me so my bed becomes larger. That being said, I’ve learned a lot from you about minimizing what I need for happiness, and to be more intentional in keeping my van tidy. I have a swing out stow and go on the back which allows me to bring a Kelty shelter that comes off my passenger door. It’s essentially a side tent. I was going to give up and camping because I didn’t like my butt always being out the door when I was trying to clean or get things I needed because my space is minimized due to my dog. So it takes me 10 minutes to set up and gives me a 6 x 9 space I also stow my kitchen items and two small one burner stoves and butane. Oh, my reflective and a mallet.
Hahahaha! Yes! Busted!!! 😂🏓 Yes, my eating is pretty simplified as well! 😂 Less is truly more! Oh, yes, there will be things that people bring that I don’t have, or need, everyone’s different! But the overall goal is to make sure you have enough space for yourself, comfortable space. I’m sure I could find room for a couple hiking poles!😉 A a good steak on the road does sound fabulous though! Thanks for taking the time to comment, have a fantastic day! 🙌🏼😃💯

I really enjoy your videos. They are always full of great information and ideas! I have a quick question because I'm a taller person and would need only 1-2 inches more than is available across the back, window to window. I have heard that the van is a little more wide behind the front seats. I was wondering if one could do the same bed layout with the table and have a little more room, like for a 5'8" person, or maybe make the bed in the back a little wider so that one could sleep a little bit on a diagonal angle. Thanks for sharing your ideas.☺️
I also enjoyed your approach to demonstrating how you would pack your van. I was very refreshing and straightforward. You showed what you packed. Then, you showed where and how you packed it without filling the video with several minutes of packing and going back and forth to your van. Thank you!!!!❤
Thanks for watching! All very good questions. The van is definitely wider behind the front, passenger seats. From door to door. It’s 67 inches from window to window and wider on the floor because the wheelwells are not there. So let me explain; in the back, where the table bed is, you have the wheelwells, which intrude on your floor space. But behind the front and passenger seat, there are no wheel wells and from the floor up to the top of the windows , you have 67 inches where is in the back, where the bed is in this video, you have 4 feet on the floor area 67 inches from window to window. Does that make sense? One thought I have is that I’m not sure if I would like to take up the space behind the seats for a bed, because then there is no space for you to relax in your van. But maybe that’s not an issue for you, I don’t know. I have thought of what it would be like to have a bed in that area from behind the front and passenger seat, taking up the space where my sliding doors are in the van. But because that is my space to dwelling, I don’t feel that it would be a good fit for me. You have to be careful, and making sure that you reinforce these little 4 foot tables if you are going to sleep on them, especially two people. Make sure you reinforce each leg and at the center. They are obviously not meant for sleeping. So be sure to completely reinforce each leg and center.
@@ModernDayPilgrim yes that makes sense. I was thinking that it would give more "living" room if I could make a bed from side to side instead of front to back. I totally understand about reinforcing the table. I didn't think about the drop down right in front of each door also. Thanks for addressing this question though. I'm looking forward to your next video.☺️
