You guys really know how to use music to make a moment feel immersive as hell. The music during the fight with the stag made it even better.
DE sound department, almost no misses in a decade
@@colegillgrass3373 facts
The visuals and sound design make me think Hellblade more than anything.
@@StephenYuan I was thinking Hellblade as well when I saw the art style and even the way the character moves
@@StephenYuan the stag fight reminded me of the Garm boss fight in Hellblade.
Massive respect for Krum Guzzlar. Gotta pay tribute to the great moments of the past

I love that DE isn't afraid to get as weird as they want. There's so much heart in their games. I can't wait to play this.
nothing weird tho. too bad they can't even say if it's single player or mmo
@@akiraic how can you say this isn't weird lol
@@drphalanges1520 considering some of the stuff GGG did with Path of Exile this being weird isnt all that fair haha. A mode in PoE has you fighting team arena fights for tatoos for crying out loud! (They were items used to modify the system that gives you stats in path of exile, the passive tree)
I love that DE isn't afraid to get as weird as they want. There's so much heart in their games. I can't wait to play this.
@@brianfeddersen8124 weird isn't always a bad thing. If it's done well it's great. Warframe is weird done well and this looks to be in the same weird wheelhouse lol
I liked the concept of not needing to rely on killing at the conclusion of a battle to achieve a decisive victory without the demise of any NPCs.
The main theme of the story is to restore what was lost/taken.
In that, it makes sense to redeem instead of just killing.
@@inquisitorichijou883 Yes, it makes sense. It's just that most political games involve killing, plundering, and destruction in the pursuit of power. The games that are remembered nostalgically are the ones in which the conflict is centered more around saving family, friends, love ones, and things of real value.
Yesss
To a degrees, but this feels too much like "The Power of Friendship/Love/Family".
If you can unzombify the deer, what can't you fix? And if you can fix everything, where's the tension?
Idk, this is so far high fantasy that it's hard to feel any since of "grounding". You ride a giant wolf right as what looks to be a space ship lands.
The world looks, well... like a tech demo set piece, which makes me apprehensive as hell. On top of that, it looks.... unalive. The village has 1 npc, everything else was a placed baddy, the wolf looked very scripted...
Idk, I don't see what to hype over. Especially if DE starts diverting resources away from Warframe to this. Is there something I'm missing about this? Because I don't see anything that stands out as something to be excited about.
Praise to your art team, thats just insane, the world building, the designs, the atmosphere... insane
Too much bloom/glare though. It's making me think there's something wrong with my eyes and I gotta rub it.
@@VincentNaconfacts I always turn those settings off
The artwork is fantastic. I particular love the menus with all the celtic/knightly kind of theme
Is this game related to Warframe?
@@XiBMCiX Made by the same people, not sure if its been confirmed that the worlds are linked though
25:00 is where the Epicness begins. That soundtrack playing along with the boss fight goes hard!
the sound design for the player seems to be gone...hmmm
@@DarkMustard1337 I don't think it's "gone" it's muted, you can still hear the sound effects but they want you to take in the music.
This soundtrack sounds like an alternate version of This Is What You Are.
Thank you for the time stamp, was about to do it myself, such an amazing song
oh yeah. 💯 percent
This right here is the product of peak creative freedom. I'm loving everything about this. And to think that this is the product of only one year of development is insane.
Right, but I hope they take their time with it. It would suck if the vision is there, but it's just not polished, or has a very short playtime/not a lot of things to do/ a lot of reused/repetative areas etc.
This is what happens when the concept art phase doesn't get the "mainstream treatment" by getting polished too much. I love the creativity in this game.
colors look very washed out
Agreed 100%
Pure new creations!
It’s a F2P game. If y’all really think anyone is going to take the time time to make a game like this and then make it FREE, I want what you’re smoking.
Prepare for battlepass/lootbox/other mtx garbage
I love the scene were the monster turns back into a noble and beautiful animal and the chanting "Rivers give trees their light trees that see with fairy sight whispering they sing for fall shower us in colours all" gives me goosebumps. I hope this turns out to be an amazing game. The world already feels very alive and wonderful.
I love the Melody and how you could play the tunes and the connection. A backstory of what used to be. This is a very imersive game
I agree wholeheartedly. The music is epic and all too.
The gyatt is very immersive. I edge every time. Lol
It looks great. I love the aspect of deep healing in this game so far. I know it's a prototype. I'd just say that I'd want the melee to feel more... connected; with more weight to it than the Drifter melee that feels too papery and light. I'd also like the magic to be very expressive. I love your focus on intimacy. I hope that the concept of deep redemption is something that we get to sit with in a deep way when the big character moments happen. This feels like the weightier sibling to Warframe that is focusing more on the depth and the impact first and foremost; not to say there's no weight to warframe, of course. I'd want that sense of intimacy and weight to be felt throughout all aspects of the game. While warframe can feel a bit desperate at times, Soulframe can feel much more focused and potent with its messaging reverberating throughout the experience. How that culminates will be nice to see if that's the direction or intention. Anyway, those are my thoughts. I love everything you guys are doing and you really heal the planet in so many ways.
I agree everything is amazing but the combat has to feel like it has weight and hit reactions more realistic.
DE has the most underrated sound team in the industry.
Love how combat is faded out in sound while epic music plays during fights that deserve it. Brought tears and gooesbumps
Love the aesthetics, the motion matching movement, the music and the general vibe of the dungeons and open zones. Combat hit feedback could use a bit of work though tbh. That said I can't wait to play this! When is it out??
TDA
Hopefully they flesh out on the combat and gameplay. They've already delivered in the art, music, sound, and other things from what they've shown here, so I hope they don't miss on the most crucial part of a game.
Agreeing with the movement. Steps look like they have weight now, not so much for the combat, still has that Duviri jank in it.
100% perfect observation.
The game is still ways off. So there is plenty of time to flesh out everything.
If music is implemented like this throughout the game... That will be epic. Love this. Bad ass work!
27:24 didn't expect to be moved to tears but 😭 that was so beautiful, you can see the love and passion present in this game in just this gameplay demo. That was definitely a Smiles From Juran moment.
I absolutely love the UI, the game also runs very smooth which is not a standard lately. The music is also great as well as visuals, the game has that feeling of a mysterious, mystical adventure in it.
Warframe haa always been a pretty easy to run. About 8 years ago I could easily play it even on cheap low power laptops. Dunno how well it would run on chraper laptops today though.
Man the music, the environment, the character designs, the sound effects, the combat, the aesthetic!
Is it all too good! I just wonder how DE had the liberty to develop such a game when Warframe itself is already so great, what I mean is that they've yet to devolve into using predetory tactics many other game developers employ especially when you consider the fact that they don't have a huge studio!
I guess when DE makes something you're gonna be really eating well for a long while huh?
To all that you've done I say thank you!
DE's fantastic use of orchestral tracks is so alive in this game, gives me nostalgia from the warframe story missions
In a time where we need stories of hope and rejuvenation, Soulframe's reveal at Tennocon left me speechless. Digital Extremes, you've got a knack for blending art, emotion, and narrative. There's a magical touch in everything you create. This is going to be special! 🌿
Amazing Eternals was a mastahpeece
Watched this during the livestream and I was absolutely blown away. Everything from the visuals to the mechanics to the hauntingly touching music is incredible. More, please!
so excited for this, love the concept and the aesthetics
This looks phenomenal and the music is God like
really amazing. the end of the gameplay with the music, the tone, the cinematic, you got me in the feels.
I wish you the best and wish this game succeeds. I love how the type of game looks familiar but in your own unique way. this game has a soul.
Desperately waiting for that stag boss fight OST to be released, it's been bouncing in my head rent-free since the livestream.
DE has many flaws, but their soundtracks are 1000/10. The ambience is also great.
This hits the soul, the atmosphere is intense!
Truly amazing. The "philosphy" behind the game caught my interest during TennoCon but the gameplay sold me. Wow. What an incredible concept and I can't wait to play it! I'm not going to lie, towards the end I got a little emotional with the stag and the redemption of Lady Deora, what a beautiful game and world that I am looking forward to playing in.
Hey guys; I know that Warframe was the main hosted deal yesterday but I kept hearing from those not into Warrframe, or those that are, that this impresses them. I, too, am interested to see what you come up with but wanted to pass along the word from my community. You guys are doin' good work. It's obvious to many. Keep it goin'.
RPG elements is what sold me instantly on it. The amount of progress since last showcase, which, mind you, was not long ago, is amazing. And it looked like, that you still could go towards that ship thingy. And explore in more directions. The atmosphere though... Man I can't wait to get my hands on get. AWESOME job DE!
The game looks outstanding, I hope I'd be able to run it
From my experience playing warframe, the game might not require high specs, but image quality will help a lot. For example I used to play on TN monitor (720p) and not until I changed to IPS (1080p) that I realized I was missing out. Now my monitor is dead and I'm using a TV as display, even tho it's 1080p, the picture is bad.
They have stated that they plan to make it possible to run the game on low-end hardware much like Warframe. Having a low barrier to entry in terms of needed hardware seems to be a core principle of the studio, which I'm personally all for.
@@thegrouchization Yup, I like how they don't gatekeep their game lmao
The world building, the atmosphere, the music, the feel of the world. Everything seems next tier.
You guys are really creating a masterpiece here, cannot wait to play!
This looks magnificent! The Princess Mononoke vibes are here and they are glorious. Cannot wait to see more!
That "fall into the ground" move at 6:14 is impressively creative and cool for a transition and sense of spirit worlds, I love it. *grabby hands* And the fluidity of the cloak fabric, thank you for such a detail. Love to see it. Lookin' good!
Graphics and audio design is stunning, combat animations look stiff AF, I know is still early but I am just pointing it out!
Absolute gem of a gem! loving the ambience!
The heroic deeds of defeating the darkness within the hearts and soul of the residents in this magical land is extremely appealing
Combat wise: when the Envoy strikes an enemy or goes for a critical attack - I've found its best to slow down the frames on the moment of impact, have a very visible stagger on every hit done by us and by the enemy towards us , nice amount of gore from the attacks alongside bits of effects that bounce off from strike based weapons/spells
Slowing down the frames not only gives you that satisfying sense of collision between weapons/spell against enemies, it also allows our eyes to register that the movements we are making are having visible consequences for the enemy and thus immersing ourselves into the world to a greater depth
Can't wait to see future updates! you've knocked it out the park with this one Soulframe team!
The sound design in this game is more than amazing. Proud to live in a time like this.
And this is exactly why I was excited when Steve and Scott left Warframe; now they can focus on this new project while the team with Warframe continues to expand with the lore, and all is right. Really looking forward to Soulframe and the new Warframe updates... 😊
I don't know how this'll work as a live service, but ten years in and I still ask the same from Warframe. The world building and story quest will be worth the price of admission (be it money or time)
woah I love the visuals of this UI
The UI is so underrated! looks very immersive thematically
Love the Princess Mononoke vibe, love the artstyle, and love the music. Can't wait.
music touched my heart, and this healing of the world from darkness is beautiful. I'm sure there will be many beautiful stories like the one with the child and the deer
Guys the music is insane, can t wait to play this astonishing journey.
Imagine being Pact with a Wolf. It's a mandatory for me.
What an outro. One hell of an experience overall. I'll remain patiently stoked.
This is just fantastic. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I love what you did with the soundtrack - so much emotion. I love it!
Wym its gona be free 🤣
Very excited for a melee focus. System looks like it still needs a little bit of tweaking, but the core is there, and the world looks incredible.
Anticipation levels high.
The art style make me think about Cetus, yet it is still totally different in a way... I love it, can't wait to see more and play it myself. Great job D.E. !
This is so beautiful that I'm willing to pay for the video. Masterclass in symbolic storytelling, I have learned a lot.
i absolutely can't believe that DE made all of this in only a year.
this is just.. astonishing.
I mean you can see a ton of reused assets... not hard to believe at all.
@@xDarkjoy Which assets were reused?
@@thegrouchization He is probably talking about environment assets. Antlers look so much like sentient parts its almost uncanny. But Its perfectly fine
@@burakkaya9149 I mean... they just look like antlers to me.

I was so excited for this project when it was announced last year. It's genuinely impressive all this that's been put together since then. I love every inch of worldbuilding, artistic expression, and love in this. I look forward to the day it's ready to be played, even as an alpha build.
Oi, Soulframe, give me the full song from 25:05 please. Please? Pretty please.
Gotta love the SUBLIME work that is already put into showing the evilness of the Ode. The song that is played during the fight against the torment stag is a childrens rhyme. The Ode not only corrupts nature, it robs people of innocence, dreams and memories.
Loving this and super excited! Good job so far guys keep up the great work!
The art style and music are nothing short of spectacular - they create an immersive world that's a joy to be a part of.
The combat system, while already promising, could be an even more exhilarating experience with a touch of refinement.
It's not really hitting for me, but I can tell a lot of work has gone into this none-the-less.
With how the combat was looking with the last look we had at the game, I was convinced that this was an elaborate rouse of a Warframe expansion tie-in that took the Drifter arc a bit further, another extended alternate start that expands Duviri that worked as a companion or bridge to the original Warframe gameplay. But it's seeming my hopes here are a little dashed, that or the rouse is a bit more elaborate than I first gave it credit for.
You think they'd make an entire new game as a ruse to elaborate on the Drifter and Warframe? When they already have Warframe to do that???
The journey with warframe since the beginning was a long one but this so far seems like the change of air i needed
Yeah...the need another new game...as everything they need already present in the Warframe development...thus the production of the game is this good
everything about this from the style, to the music, to the combat looks absolutely incredible!!
I would love to see them actually model the sheath for the weapons. I always thought that all games would do that by now but almost none of them do...
Ghost of tsushima's sheath system is perfect
@@Manu-hl4cv Shadow of Mordor and War too.
@@Kuhtlass right! Witcher also
The music during the stag fight actually made me cry during the reveal
This what people mean art direction > graphics. I mean it has good graphics in my opinion but the art direction is what really makes the visuals.
I love the return to tradition, reverence in the sacred ways of nature ; from the easily missed minutia of the wind blowing through the rocks in the cave system, the water flowing through the rivers, the soft sloshing of feet impacting the earth - every component of what makes our reality real to us feels very present here
What binds us most to the human experience is the journey of the soul through its many hardships, pitfalls and desolate feelings of being swayed by an insurmountable force that is sweeping the land; eradicating our spiritual idols and severing the connection we have to the gentle breath of life around us
Absolutely love the essence of Soulframe and what the team is manifesting through the vessel of this game, it is of grave importance especially in a time where so many are lost to the waves of change, knowing that everyone is worthy of a second chance to be the best version of themselves once more
A request would be for the combat to have more gore/blood/visceral feedback to every hit and action made by the Envoy to really make every movement of attack conjure a feeling of the how heavy the weight of our equipment/tools may be
thank you for reading : - ) looking forward to seeing the next update!

I am getting on board early and riding this adventure with you for years to come.
I'm assuming this is the same engine like Warframe of course right? If so, can't wait to see these graphics with great performance. Y'all's engine is one of the best optimized engines out there.
Which is what I cannot say about many cool looking games these days.
Yes, it is. Digital Extremes has used the Evolution Engine in all of their games from Dark Sector onwards, including the Darkness II.
It's honestly crazy how the warframe engine is so optimized considering it was made by an indie studio.
On console its really badly optimized but on pc is great.
@@melanch0lycat5393 Technically, they didn't make it by themselves. Evolution is forked off from an earlier version of the Unreal Engine.
Still impressive what they've managed to accomplish with it.
@@riven4121 Speaks for its own name. It's so evolved.

This looks sick! And the music for battle with the stag is awesome!

Tudo me lembra o maravilhoso Warframe! Essa trilha sonora tá sensacional!!!
finally a game I can be super hyped for and know that it's not going to disappoint.
glad to see the use of music matching what some of us have come to expect from DE. nicely done
To put this much beauty into a project in such a short time is absolutely outstanding!! You guys have captured and owned the art immersion and I am all in! Freaking good stuff DE!
I think it's also our job to get the critiques in to help guide this project from a fan's perspective and I have but only a few:
1) Enemy combat readiness.
I want the enemy to block and/parry my brash attacks and punish me for not taking them seriously. That said, I would also love to be able to chain an attack from one enemy to at least one flanking enemy. Lastly, I love the staggering but would like to have a way to time a motion or button press to shorten my stagger for a faster recovery.
2) Slight speed increase - I think a small bump in jog/run speed would be great. Maybe a 5%-10% bump. Another option could be an early gained ability for this?
3) Hitbox polishing - I've seen others discuss it so no need for more of the same input.
And that's it for my input. I'm hyped for Soulframe and, again, I congratulate the dev team yet another job WELL FREAKIN DONE!!!
So excited for this!
Wow, this looks really cool. Extremely talented dev team.
artstyle, ambience and music is absolutely phenomenal
Wow, just wow! Beautiful, stunning, powerful and emotional! Draws me right in.

FEEDBACK BELOW ON COMBAT
Art style 10/10
World design 10/10
Music 12/10
Story telling 9/10
The game is amazing!
However, the combat felt extremely lacking. It being slow was not the problem but how non-existent it is.
Enemies are very simple and extremely easy to deal with. Their moveser is lacking and the hard ones/ bosses were not any better.
What the music, dialogue and ambiance evoke of mystery and riled up emotions would make you expect a combat encounter that add and smplify that grandeur.
However, instead of everything crowning the combat and lifting it, the latter is bringing everything down.
In hopes to give constructive criticism, to my loved DE, I hope you do the following or take it into consideration:
-Adding more attacks to the enemies.
-Making their attacks hit harder as they currently are as easy to avoid as just walking away.
-Giving enemies more health.
-Make bossed or "elite" mobs harder than what was shown by a magnitude. Despite this clearly not being a souls-like game, the combat remains very lackluster.
-Add more enemies or increase combat encounters. This does not necessarily conflict with the "slow pace" direction of the game.
-Enemy attacks seem as simple to dodge as walking backwards. Is it perhaps because they stand still while attacking?
To sum up, the two main reasons I felt combat was very lacking is because, first, there was no threat at all. "Peaceful" or 1/5 of I have to describe it using game difficulty options where 5 is hardcore, 3 is normal and 2 is easy.
Second reason is that the player is too strong. I don't know wht stage of the game this is at but anything in the player kit can 1 or 2 hit enemies, so why should I as a player use most of them?
I hope my point got across and did not seem offending because I genuinely loved the game so far. However, i don't see myself player it if the combat is practically non-existent. Even in telltale games for example you bave quick time events to keep tension, but soulframe so far felt with no tension.
Playing a relaxing game is great but I dont want to sleep midway.
I have my trust in DE to deliver and take feedback as you gave always done, at least from my view playing warframe over the years.
Good day!
The aesthetics are beautiful! Love the woman's armor and her headpiece.
This came out of nowhere. I can tell this going to be a hit. Adding this to the list of must plays: Crimson Desert & Soulframe
The soundtrack deserves a better boss. in fact it deserves an epic boss.
Probably my most anticipated game for a while and probably also the only life service esque game i will be playing after im done with destiny 2 after its final DLC. Cant wait.
I love when you said: "It's soulframing time" and you just soulframed everywhere on the map.
The UI for this is so sick. I love all the tiny details especially in those character screens. That "Virtues" menu dope af.
This game gonna be amazing
Na bro called a wolf to mull dude and then RODE it
WOW! That ending fight was beautiful. These production values are insane!!!! 😢
Courage, Spirit and Grace.
That's beautifull, thank you DE.
