Crazy times we live in when a bare bones basic work truck is pushing 40k
And it’s not even a Silverado
Barebones is only $29.5K so you're tripping, 40K is a loaded daily driver with all the latest features.
Probably because “bare bones” now means digital instrument cluster, infotainment system, back up camera, power windows etc… Back in the day a basic truck was 2WD, had a manual transmission, manual windows, an AM stereo and probably no AC.
It shouldn’t even be that much. I just looked at WT today it was 33K with the convenience package II
Good to see a review of a work truck, instead of another ridiculous $70k off-road Tonka.
This is Awesome , I love the reviews of all the "TOP" Vehicles, but a series of Reviews for us Peasants would be a cool side series, "Affordable Content " ?! ... thanks for the content Boss !
The WT doesn't get the G80 locker as standard but the window sticker shows the advanced trailering package which adds the G80 back. This dealer was smart and picked the right packages with the main features without inflating the price. Missing 4WD Low is a pity but I could probably live without.
I'm actually very impressed by it's payload number ... all and all very kool truck, ty for sharing.
I thought Chevy was cheap bc the lowest trim have small screens but this is ok for me nice video awesome review
Affordable. Hoping for 30k.
You can actually custom order them and you’ll save a good amount of money since the dealership wont do all the ridiculous add ons, I was planning on ordering one and the 2 wheel drive option with the wt package 1 and 2 and the safety package came out to about 32,400 so not bad
Certainly need hard knob lights and no cracked blocks on the 2.7.
Needs a longer bed, but with the tailgate down and an extension bracket you'd have a longer bed.
Bedliner from Chevy is $395, or tbh it might be $345 can't remember exactly
I would give up the second seat for a bigger bed...
I like the steel wheels, they’d look a lot cooler if they were black with a chrome hub cap.
Thing sounded like a leaf blower when you started it.
Base is 37,000, you know what you could get in the used market?
When will the brush guard be available for this model and the 2023 version
The only thing I would change with that truck is I would go with the nicer rims and the V6 and blue
I thought I was driving a 2024 WT as my work truck but Mine does not have an arm rest or cruise control???
Gotta go GMC, so much nicer inside. When you're already at that 40K mark then add a few grand and increase the comfort. It's always worth it.
Here give me your 40k, the bed liner is a measly $500….
….that GM could have never included in the 40k. 🤦🏼♂️
This truck should not be a penny over 28k as is. Taxes and all the BS included. Out the door 28k.
Wheres the spare tire? Are they leaving those out of the trucks too?
I thought the WT trim had a lower output engine.
That’s standard, turbomax is an option. If you listened to the video you would know that lol.
It does. You can always add expensive extras
@@Holden-McGroin thanks! I listened and watched because I like to multitask. I was more expressing the fact I did not realize you could option the WT up.
@@jbpmidas Makes sense to me brother!
I've recently purchased a 2024 WT
Mine has the 237 hp engine
but the dealership has a factory tune that doesn't void the warranty for $400. that offers a 40 hp gain
I love mine but wish that I could have gotten the turbomax 310 hp motor
Is the turbo max 310 motor is equivalent to like a V6 engine?
@@KennyG_420 Not quite sure on that one but I would assume the Turbomax 310 is better than the V6 it’s definitely built tougher and torquier. I’ve got the 237 hp version but plan on getting the factory 40 hp flash tune upgrade
No complaints here
Plenty of get up and go for what it is
Correction
I checked my factory sticker I actually have the 310 hp Turbomax motor
@@JeremyChildress nice that actually have the turbo all along, I guess that’s why you never noticed no problems with it “getting up a going” lol
@@KennyG_420 Guess so
I’m just slow and didn’t pay attention to the sticker close enough 😆
How is that a "basic" truck? Nothing with a touch screen infotainment system will ever be basic.
I don't understand why their backup camera doesn't cover the whole screen
Kind of crazy this video was posted 42 minutes ago and not one comment. I guess I’ll be the first.
You can find this new for $28,000
Why is it a work truck? What if you want to have fun with it?
GM will find out via the Onstar system. They'll send out their minions and take the truck back.
$37,000???? I do not find that affordable at all. Call me cheap but that’s ridiculous for what you get.
GM could have at least painted the front bumper. Seriously? Unpainted black plastic is ridiculous. It looks like a half finished vehicle. And those spare tire looking wheels. Yuck. 🤢
It’s a work truck
@@EliastheKiNg34 it would have cost GM under $100 to have the bumper painted. For the price they’re charging it should be standard. A sea of black plastic looks terrible, work truck or not. Just wait until it’s all sun faded and worse looking.
I love the steelies. Besides, you can get used oem wheels of your liking. They are the same pattern as 1/2 ton.
@@AustinTA-cd9rs so spend more money not hard
Only $15,000 overpriced.
