Great job hoping to join you in uist in the near future. If you secure the towline to the bridal with a bowline the towline can freely move over the line and won't end up towing off one side of the vessel. Happy harvesting our paths may cross soon

6.92 miss Kim. Get it right 😜 basically 7. I had the location to thank for that. Starting to realise that the more muddy the area, the heavier weed. It can grow within the mud and suck up the excess goodness

It’s such a fun place. It can be harsh at times but still a great place to be 😊

It’s a tough of old job mate. Very tough during the winter months but fun nonetheless 😁

That was really interesting. Quite labour intensive and you also need to have a good head to work out all tides/ weather etc. Hope it gets used well after all that

Oh the factory dry it and grade it. They sell it to farms or pharmaceuticals. I tend to use washed up kelp for the Croft 😊

Is that weight wet or dried?
BASF up on west of Lewis take in seaweed, I think it is used for cosmetics.

It’s weighed wet. Which is good for us. I don’t think it would be worth it if it got weighed when dry. But it’s a good earner if you break a sweat 👌🏿😊

What is the seaweed used for?

The factory who collect it dry it out and grade it. It then gets sold to farms and pharmaceuticals 😊

I'd would say you would be better with a small diesel engine fishing boat with more power to pull the net and then use the outboard for the inshore.

You need 1 of them 360 cameras that you can wear or something so you can be hands free...I keep worrying you'll fall in.
