Australia just needs to tear up the export gas contracts that don't pay royalties and Australia would have the cheapest energy globally.

Can i add that on the Economic complexity list (Countries listed for their diversity of income) Australia is placed at 95th globally....we sit sandwiched between Uganda and Pakistan!!!! Yet, even though we are a minerals, coal and gas superpower we give it all away for free to the likes of Santos. Food and stuff have increased for sure but a)you could be creative around these like keep your shoes for one more years or buy from a 2 dollar shop and for food, maybe buy more rice and beans as Ramsey would say. But with rents and mortgage, there is little you can do... except maybe inviting complete strangers to your house as flatmates.

I hate the scam level price groups are charging for NDIS jobs. People need these services but if companies of middle men keep leeching from the system there's no way future governments will keep the NDIS around. I was getting paid $30 an hour as a sub contractor, have to my own tax and pay my own super. A client tells me one day that the sub contracting group was charging about $50 an hour on top for themselves. This is for cleaning work, i'm sure the numbers are orders of magnitude higher for jobs involving qualifications in other fields. Reminds me a bit of job keeper, funneling money into bigger groups and companies while people at the bottom toil away.

I wonder if the unemployment numbers are lower than the past - if some of the long term unemployed have been moved to the NDIS? If so then wouldn’t this artificially lower the unemployment numbers permanently?

What's happened is people are going onto the NDIS because of genuine disabilities which didn't exist before the pan.
For every excess morbidity that happened because of the treatment, there are 10 who can no longer function live or work effectively in society.

Some just wanted to keep working but being penalised by cost of living same as everyone and forced to take social security unable to survive on lower income than their normal high earnings , it’s boarder line collapse of society , take what you need to survive if you want to live..

It doesn't count the underemployed and anyone not on welfare. The majority of positions I have applied for recently have 100 - 400 applications. Employee shortage rhetoric is bs. The Tradie shortage and unaffordable housing would end once we stop immigration and the foreign sellout.

NDIS is propping up the economy and employment figures. Unskilled people are being paid $50-100hr to do very little. Middle-men are taking generous cuts through pop-up businesses, subcontracting and providing basic services. People with higher needs are being funded hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, even over a million dollars with the money going straight into deep pockets of business owners. It's a ridiculous system where "business" people are becoming rapidly wealthy and people with disabilities are loving in absolute poverty, increasingly homeless and having to beg for adequate funding because prices are now so outrageously inflated.

Exactly, this was the lnp undermining the NDIS just like they undermine Medicare at every opportunity.
These people do not want us to have anything that gives us power or independence.
