I think it’s actually annoying that they’re missing the point of the REASON why Bella was upset with KJ. The night of the ramyun and chill, Bella expressed to KJ that she thought he was interested in Tiffany more and he said “no that’s not true, that’s why we need to communicate more” and after they hooked up the next day he completely ignored her/acted like she didn’t exists and went to go pursue Tiffany (the exact person he said he “wasn’t all that into”) He was being manipulative and using her and that’s why she was upset so yes he is a fuck boy smh. If he was honest from jump saying that he wanted to just explore his options, then she wouldn’t be mad.

I'm new to the episodes and I was thinking she was one of my favorites until she said Erica called the show racist when in fact she called out preferences she seen in society and the possibility of that happening there, huge difference. That's also why I was disappointed in the panel too.

KJ had his eyes on Tiffany since the jump. Dan was focused on Erika and partly on Sabrina from before Bella came into the picture as well.
It's not bc she is black, it's bc she was not either of their first pick. That's how guys operate. And until their 1st choice is proven not an option at all, it's likely they'll jump on any opportunity to get it.

Bella lost nothing. She dodged a bullet. Dan is so over dramatic for no reason. Bella was literally the best contestant, such an amazing personality. Dan lost his golden duck.
Also Tiffany crushed every way for me to like her. On a second thought tifanny and KJ are very compatible w each other coz both of them are boring af with "walls" bigger than The Great Wall of China.

It ended for Bella exactly how I thought it would. Despite having the best personality on the show as far as the women goes and connecting with a couple of guys, there she was. This is just like many of the other dating shows in that sense. Guys really miss out and these dudes def didn’t deserve her.

But then again she wasn't honest. KJ toyed with her so she should have spoken up about it. Why did she keep KJ's secret? She should have blasted him and kept it real. But she kept lying about it even when she was talking one on one with Dan when he asked about KJ, she said "We just talked." That's why Dan said he didn't pick her. Would you choose to be with someone who lied to your face? We, as viewers saw what happened through the window so I was just waiting for her to be real about it. If she didn't want to say her personal business she should have said something like "I don't kiss and tell and who knows..." but she stuck to the whole "We just talked." lie. And when it was clear that KJ was the asshole that would have been her perfect chance to be like "Hey, this is what really happened. I'll set the record straight." I think we as women should always speak up on that and be clear about it and put the men in their place. But the fact that she kept lying about it only proved she was being sneaky too.

Yess! Unambiguously Black women are often not seen as serious romantic prospects in many cultures (but notice how physical and handsy almost all of the guys were w her), but it does help you weed out a lot of the Dans and KJs because they never keep their act up for long. It was hard to watch Bella be hurt by first KJ (and completely disagree with Bris that he owed her nothing, he owed her RESPECT!!) and then Dan, but her inner and outer beauty shone through even those disappointments. ❤

I think it was pretty obvious that Dan didn't like Bella, he just liked that Bella liked him. I owe Sonja an apology cause I thought she was weird at the first episode but she became one of my favorite people. What she said to Tiffany when she was crying was so mature. I thought Tiffany was given a little too much smoke by the panel but it was hilarious. Bella is gorg and has a great personality so she will be quite alright.
I'm still trying to figure out why they found Tiffany attractive. She is as bland as white rice.

Bella carried the show. Outfits were on point, did the job of an emcee by getting everyone to talk and be less awkward, and just all-around great person and energy. If she doesn’t return to season 2, at least give her a seat as a panelist or emcee! She’s amazing!
As a dark black woman, it was just sad to me somewhat. We get chosen to have fun, but never for something serious. Though Erika was saying the things about racism for the wrong reasons, it didn't mean that she was completely wrong. Bella did win a lot of things and was chosen many times. But by last episode it was shown exactly what many black women keep saying, which people keeps dismissing as just of overreaction on our part. KJ was exactly the example that black women keeps talking about (especially the dark skinned ones). We always fun to hang out with, to spend time with or to try it out. But for something more.....no. There are definitely exceptions to the rule, but it doesn't take away that it happens to black women in many occasions. I just would like to see a beautiful black woman like Bella winning. And I mean winning as finding someone worth it of her. But overall I still enjoyed the show and I will definitely tune in for a season 2. I grateful for the creators of the show for they hard work. And Dan if you see this... I'm extremely disappointed in you!
I think Erika knows her worth and people hate that, especially for black/mixed women, she saw she wasn’t being chosen and spoke up I think it’s a fair point. It’s sad because the irony is, (the men) taking her seriously would have led to maybe more openness for Bella as a full black woman, as a white passing woman you can always turn the tides by being docile or girly (as they stated for both women) but black women don’t have that benefit, it’s sad they instead chose to downplay the bias.

Dan followed his ❤️ nothing to be ashamed of. He didn't want to pursue something with a woman he knew deep down wasn't it. Yeah that's a sucky way to let her know, vut at the end of the day his mistake was choosing Bella in the first place at the boat and not Sabrina.

Bella was truly the star of the season and the whole show was a vibe! Loved the hosts, the participants, the crew and the production quality was top notch. Only downside is that it was too short, really. Looking forward to season 2

I’m mad at Dan’s decision. Not just because he didn’t choose Bella but more like if he was interested in Sabrina what was the point of all that. He had his opprtunity to pursue her but did not. I know Sabrina didn’t make much of an effort when he ask her. But still he knew she wanted to go on the boat. Most likely she would’ve said yes. It felt like he went with the person he had less chances of being rejected by. He waisted his time, Bella’s time and Sabrina’s time.
True that. It's a shame. Hope Bella finds someone better and Sabrina too, honestly. Chan is nice too. They definitely felt more like friends, however. I hope they stay in contact. Happy for Minjae and Sonja though. They hit it off pretty early and I'm glad they stuck to their guns. Glad Erika said yes to Chan, too.
I'm really glad I checked the comments because I knew deep down this clown was going to fumble majorly. I almost found myself rooting for him and Bella and now I know that I can always trust my gut instinct. SMH
I agree: he probably already had an idea to go after Sabrina. It's like he just followed the path of less resistance, like you mentioned; it was easier to keep something up with Bella since they already had an okay time together. But also after a good time like that, it's natural to just stay in that corner, there weren't many ops to get to know new people.
But that being said, Idk how anybody saw any chemistry there. They had one date and decent conversation. Dan's good at conversation. Bella was certainly flirting with him, and he was being present but honestly there was hardly anything beyond an enjoyable time spent together between the two. Plus it was over the course of 48 hours, not anything substantial or really meaningful.
If you end up not bringing Bella back for another shot in S3, you should at least consider having her as a commentator. It'd be interesting to hear the perspective of someone who's been through that experience and she always was very observing and well-spoken. She definitely got the watchers' hearts 💕
I would definitely like to see her in front of the camera rather than behind it, she has charm and charisma.

Bella is the type of person who knew how to live these days intensely. She was open and sincere with her feelings, experiences and friendly with everyone. She deserves all the glory of this first season. Dan is super funny, but that guy who conquers the first level of the game and moves on to another game. Do you know what I mean? He has no focus. I dont think Dan is the guy who moves on to another game, him picking sabrina kinda showed that he is actually the type who would give up a game if he isnt getting the result he wants but then return back to it to give it another try. I think Sabrina and Dan played too much. It was clear that they liked eachother but Dan just wanted to hear her say it and he gave her plenty of opportunties to do so. I was actually suprised to hear Tiffany say that Dan and Sabrina spent the whole time talking the day before. Dan was clearly too proud to make the first move sooner with Sabrina and Sabrina is still too young and not quiet ready to be direct with guys. She said no to Dan because of Bella since she would have felt guilty and disrespectful

Also, people who are sad about Sabrina: Remember that she's only TWENTY and she doesn't currently live in Korea. Her being super young is why I was surprised she got chosen for the show from her audition. I always tell young women to focus on themselves and to not get into serious relationships at such young ages, especially with older men and long-distance ones at that. Some men will waste your years for absolutely no reason. I didn't expect anything to come out of this for her, hopefully it's just a fun experience that she remembers later on.

Am I the only one who could tell when KJ stepped into that room that Tiffany had the biggest grin on her face? I felt right then that she was going to say yes. She ultimately didn't care what Bella told her. KJ came in & chose her & for her, that was enough.
Bella is a winner in my book, because she was never a backstabbing friend, sneaky or two faced. She supported her friends and showed class during the process, even when she wasn't chosen. I vote for Bella to return next season.

I think it’s unfortunate Bella went home alone because she’s so likeable, but when it comes to her and Dan, I don’t think she lost out on anything. I also don’t think they would have had much of a relationship outside of the show. Sabrina is amazing, and it is a little wild that she left alone too. Good luck to Chan and Erika, and a lot of luck to Kj and Tiffany, I think they’ll need it. Good luck to Changhak, he could have been a bit more open with other girls, but they didn’t have that much time to be fair. Not much to say about Sonja and Minjae cause they were pretty self explanatory.

I liked that Changhak was a one-girl type of guy. He focused on his first choice until the end, I like this type of guy
At first Changhak struck me as just a good-looking guy. But he turned out to be my favorite cast member. He is brave, driven, honest and incredibly sweet. He's not a man of many words but the type that would shower the one he loves with a lot of attention and care. It's too bad he wasn't Tiffany's type, but I can tell that he is a keeper and someone you can take home to meet your parents. Would LOVE to see him back in Season 2!

Changhak is my favorite in the show. He's observant and caring. I think he's quickly stereotyped into hottie beefcake because of his looks and profession... this guy has depth. He thinks through whether he should go party... and he doesn't want to put pressure on Tiffany into a relationship. He's the gem in this series TBH.
If boredom had another meaning it’s Changak! He was supposed to be the game changer but decided to be Tiffany’s puppy dog, going after the obvious next thing to a Korean girl and created a muscular bubble around him that no one could penetrate no matter how much they tried! Nah he is way too conservative to actually date international obviously there for some kinda exposure!

I don't think Changhak realized he was on an INTERNATIONAL dating show. He didn't even give the women a chance and he did not even give Tiffany a chance to get to know her. I would have believed he sincerely liked Tiffany for who she is if he didn't offer her water the second he got there. That means it only took one glance, it was just about appearance and that was even before he knew she could speak Korean.

My theory about Dan: He was seriously interested in Sabrina from the start, but he cared too much to risk her rejection. He chose to be the 'lighthearted' one in the crowd -- to appear nonchalant/blasé. That just confused the women. And Sabrina almost mirrored that -- she didn't give out any signals to anyone; I think she might have chosen Dan if he had moved next to her slowly and sincerely.
Sabrina is the youngest person on this show if I recall correctly. I don't remember her exact age - perhaps 19? - but that came across throughout this whole show. The way I perceived her was as this young girl, innocent, with almost no dating experience, and her actions being very awkward and shy, because of her age. Honestly, I don't even know if she liked Dan in the beginning, or if she liked any boy at all, because her actions just didn't indicate any interest. She was always kind of awkward and shy. Either she couldn't express herself properly, or she really had no interest in any of the boys.

I know I'm months late, but I just binge watched the whole show and it was a lot of fun. I'd love to see Bella and Sabrina back on the show. I also think there should be more activities where the contestants have to go on mini dates with everyone in the beginning, this way it gives them the opportunity to get to know everyone before choosing who they want to focus on
I would also like it to be longer. The outcomes could have been different if it was a week or 2.
I’m not surprised in the slightest that Bella didn’t get picked. I had a huge feeling that was going to happen in the end. It was clear nobody really took her seriously. They seen her as a moment of fun and that’s it.
I also feel like Dan only really picked Bella last episode to try and prove a point to Erkia or because he was afraid of being rejected again so he picked her because she was the safest option. Sabrina was the one he was truly interested in.

There should be a reunion with all the contestans where they talk about the things that happened during the show. I really want to see if Sonja and Minjae are still seeing each other, why did Tiffany say yes to KJ after what he did with Bella, and so on. That would be amazing to see where they all are at months later after the show.

Tiffany literally cried when she found out that KJ and Bella had made out, so it was so weird to me that she accepted to go with him in the end. I really thought she was going to say no. This is why I really believe we need an reunion episode with those explanations. Same with Dan and his decision. Also what KJ did to Bella was so not cool! After he got what he wanted, he then literally ghosted her, avoiding contact. Not cool dude. All his high standards (or barriers as he calls it) mean nothing.

I agree 💯 Especially about Chan, he was absolutely precious 😍 I also felt bad for Chanack. I think he really liked Tiffany but KJ threw him under the bus because he liked her too. I think she may have given him a chance if KJ hadn't said about her being picked because she spoke Korean. That really bothered her, because she kept bugging Chanack about it. KJ knew what he was doing, being manipulative. But I guess in the end, it worked for him. I don't think they'll last though. Starting out with dishonesty is never a good thing.
Tiffany deserves better than KJ. Let's be real. I just didn't like that they put someone with the Korean beauty standard on the show. They shouldn't have casted Tiffany on an INTERNATIONAL dating show because she has the Korean look. but she was not a bad person. When all the girls kept saying the guys all liked her, she was pretty humble about it and kept saying no. It's not her fault the guys were assholes. She said many times that she wanted to be sure that the guys were liking her for the right reasons and not because she is Korean passing.

I would actually like to see a less biased panel for s2. I genuinely disliked all of them except for Jin and the host. Imo, this panel was much less insightful and too reactive compared to the panel for Single's Inferno. I love how sophisticated the panel is for SI. They're much deeper thinkers and they try to properly analyze the psychology behind each cast members' words and actions.
Dan translating the meanings of some of the outfits because Sabrina doesn't get Korean very well was actually a very sweet act.

There were preferential (not racists) undertones with the show, Bella allowed herself to be the energy source for everyone. Guys used her to uplift their egos. Chan was overly touchy with Bella, which he didn't do with other ladies. KJ did the same with her. I knew she was not going to be picked. She deserves better.

It'll be a long time before they as a small group can gather people and do this again, unless a network picks it up or they get someone to huge to help them, then season 2 will be released late 2023 or mid 2024. I really don't want a second season of 5 rushed episodes where they cut out all the good development of relationships parts to make space for drama. Honestly, would like to see a change of hosts or none at all to focus more on the people and the meaning behind the show. Felt like a typical dating show when it's supposed to be more than that.

In the end, Erika was mostly right. The house with the most visits and requests from the guys to "Ramyun and Chill" were Sabrina and Tiffany's for a reason... Only two of these guys were open to dating outside their race. Even the one that seemingly was so into Bella.

In Korea, the black knight is the male savior and a black rose is the female version especially when drinking which is why Dan said “if we drink tonight.” It’s also why the band The Rose’s fandom name is black rose. 😊 I’ll comment more when I see the rest of the episode. 😅

So, I finished the episode. I think everything went as I expected. lol I kind of agreed with Megan and saw that Dan was going to do something unexpected and not in his best interest. LOL I did notice that Chan didn't seem to be as into the night in the trailer with Sabrina as much as he was with Bella. I feel bad for Changhak and Bella because they were my favorites. Both just honest and true to themselves. So, I hope they find someone to love them for that. Sonja and Minjae are the most adorable thing ever!

I think Erika wasn't that honest when talking to Bella, at least from what we've seen in the show. She just wanted someone to be on her side because others weren't agreeing with her, and I think she got the gratification from both Bella and Chan even when her attitude was ugly towards others. I guess some people just get it no matter what they do. And the thing is, they probably won't see her ugly side until they watch the show or she'll eventually show it in the future.

It's a hilarious tactic ive seen some men use where they'll make stupid decisions that insinuate "oh i could have chosen this girl over you but i risked it because i realized YOU were the one." it's so stupid and im glad Sabrina said no. 😂
I was laughing so hard when he came out overplaying the act in the final choice he had to make between sabrina or bella, because it became clear to me he was putting on a bit of an act for his kdrama moment. All these theatrics because he coudnt make it clear enough that he liked Sabrina. I knew Bella was going to end up walking out alone because Dan wouldnt stop bringing up sabrina's name every chance he got, and Bella seemed more like an afterthought as he'd mention her last when she was talking about the girls he originally pursued before he went for Bella, even when they were considered one of the strongest 'couples' lol. He's very calculated but with the worst case of executive dysfunction ive ever seen. Trainwreck 😂

The fact that people are this mad at him for not picking a girl he only spent a minute with kinda makes it seem as if he is the main character. He went on one date with Bella last minute and both him and Bella were interested in different people before that, why is it so bad or shocking for some people that he might pick someone else?

I think Dan just wanted to be remembered for doing something unpredictable, which to be it kinda backfired. But the truth is I'm glad he did not walk out with Bella, she is too pretty and too good for him or any other guy in the show.
I have to say, this dating show beats all of the dating shows of Netflix. Great work to the DKDKTV and Nakd seoul team!
What I loved most about this series is that it felt very authentic with the contestants reactions and the overall setting. It didn't feel overproduced like you get in other dating shows where you *know* production is meddling and the storyline is fake/scripted. Looking forward to season 2!! ❤

Bella was my absolute favourite on the show; none of the guys in the show was good enough for her. Bella was the most sincere with her feelings, and the most genuinely sincere personality.

They gaslighted the hell out of Erika and Bella - including shady ass Sonja - just for it all to be true at the end of the day. But going into a Korean based show I knew what to expect.

They weren't overreacting at all. Dan literally chose Erika TWICE yet she denied him. Obviously in Korea this is the case (with them preferring white & Asian girls) but on this international dating show the guys were more so open minded. Sonja literally wasnt picked in the beginnng! Neither was Sabrina, another ASIAN girl. Yet Erika (hlf black) and Bella were BOTH picked. At the end of the day its about who you vibed with the most. Bella didnt have a strong connection with any of those guys lets be honest.

Also, the fact that they kept hating on Erika but when Bella agreed with her but worded it more eloquently the black panelists switched up and agreed because they knew how it would look to the audience. The fact that they kept hating on a black women (Erika) tho throughout the entirety of this show? Also, The bonfire scene where Chan and Erika weren’t paired together (because she wasn’t seen as someone who could match him- I wonder why)? Along with the fact that Dan wanted to Ramyun and Chill with Bella and then for final decision picks someone else
@@loralo7088 YES! To me, it felt like those 2 panelists had some kind of weird agenda. Their response to Erika's suspicion that she wasn't as desired bc of her race felt incredibly performative to me. They were so enthused and ready to bust out the pitchforks and torches for her. Idk if they were trying to impress the non-black panelists or keep their jobs or what but it was very much giving me shuckin' and jivin' (iykyk).
With that being said, I feel like Erika might have ended up at that conclusion regarding the lack of attention she was receiving due to delusion and an inflated sense of ego; I don't think she was trying to use it as a cop-out. I believe that she genuinely believed in what she was saying and I don't think she was trying to be accusatory about it. Dan became defensive and hostile bc she hurt his ego by overlooking his prior efforts, and her suggesting that her race put her at a disadvantage with the guys was the cherry on top for him.

It came across as her not being able to accept the fact that the guy she liked wasn't interested in her. This became extremely evident after she continually stated that she is popular outside the of show and was use to being chased not chasing, so when she got unexpected results she became confused and disappointed (which is why the guy said her entitlement is showing) and I guess in trying to cope with this new revelation and her ego being bruised she chalked it up to mean that the guys there aren't interested in colored women on the whole?? Like Sonja said not everyone is everyone's type, just because you like someone doesn't mean they have to like you back! Terry was making the most accurate predictions left, right, and center throughout the show. From the first episode where he said stuff about Dan being the underdog, that was so spot on! The only reason Sabrina had no-one she really clicked with was because she was probably just meant to meet Terry!
