18/20, the Owlbear was awesome, worth breaking a rule.
Yeah I would say it definitely follows the rule of cool lol
I found myself agreeing a lot here, except that I wasn't offended by the Tabaxi because I just equated the one we are shown to look more like the stocky Snow Leopard than one of the leaner cat species. I was happy with the movie, and hope they at least remain consistent in quality with sequels (better would be amazing, but i'm not going to hold my breath).
Yeah it's just that as soon as I saw them I immediately thought furry lol. But I'm hoping they stay at least this could going forward as well

I can totally agree with that, frankly I feel like I will bear should just be beasts anyways lol
The Tabaxi was a stay at home mom. And not all tabaxi are the same type of cat. She was not a young adventurer. The creators of the movie said they took liberties with the shapeshifting because they specifically wanted an owlbear and let her shapeshift more than the rules allowed.
I watched the movie with my party and it was awesome, ton of fun!
I would have loved to have seen it with my DnD group, that would have made it even better

Druid spell: shapechange
Read it. Its literally madame mim vs merlin spell. They can change into almost everything. And official statblocks say they are lv16 or higher
Finally watched the movie. It was a ton of fun. Felt like an adventure that was shortened down in a retelling, but kept everything important. The DMPC paladin Xerc guy stayed as long as he needed, and left as soon as he wasn't. The party was pretty fun though i do wish the bard character way actually able to do something more with his music. The sorcerer was pretty cool, I liked that as he got more confident his magic seemed to get more powerful as well, like his charisma based magic came from his confidence that his spells would work. The more sure if himself he was, the stronger the magic was. And i like he was a wild magic sorcerer as well. I like they used the actual dragon from the canon in the underdark part and kept that he was a chonky boy. I'd definitely let the druid turn into an owlbear if they had seen one. Rule of cool is worth it sometimes. Sofina was a fun boss character setting up the bigger boss. Forge was just what i expected when they introduced him as a conman. One of my favorite jokes in the movie is near the beginning when they're escaping using the arococra and the judges reveal they were going to be released if they hadn't. Feels like something a DM would reveal at that specific time.
Lore UA-camr "History Behind The Warrior" has A LOT of Mortal Kombat lore videos about the different Fighters and other aspects of the franchise to help fill in the gaps if your interested.

The movie was good for gamers and non gamers.
I also agree on some of the flaws in the movie. I even did a video on the things I didn’t like about the movie.

I didn't even mind the flaws, I just couldn't help but think about how things were less than accurate here and there. But overall I still had plenty of fun with the movie and totally worth the watch
