On the UI you are displaying an actual character that you control but won't it introduce some edge case issues? For example what if a player opens the inventory while the player character is falling or attacking? The falling or attacking animation will then also be displayed on the inventory UI, which isn't really common. I think character renders on UI usually just idle or play a certain set of animations that is for inventory only. Also what if a player opens the inventory in a dark dungeon? You might not be able to see the character all that much since lights will affect him and it's gonna be dark.
