Thanks for the question. Here's my understanding of this: as a foreigner, you can live in India on a spouse visa but you cannot work a job here or run a business unless you are granted an OCI, which is typically granted after you have already lived here for a few years. There may be a special situation where a company sponsors you with a work visa but otherwise this is how it will work, I think. But if you can find a way to make an income here such as online I would definitely recommend trying to live here for a better quality of life than the USA or other Western nations can currently provide
