Dude I love Dustin, I thought people were crazy for picking BSD. But Islam is a nightmare for anybody and I just don't know where Dustin beats him unless he can draw him into a brawl but Islam has shown that he has no problem being patient and resetting every time guys try to get going on him. True . The only downfall to ufc is the wrestling. They have a sport called wrestling go to that instead of wrestling in the ufc . If they fought head up it would have been a way better fight . I honestly hate when Islam just tries to grab his opponent the whole night . Or atleast pick them back up after 10 seconds if he didn’t go down with a choke or arm bar .

I doubt it. Islam generally circles around with his back to the cage a lot, see his Charles and Volk 1 performances, and Poirier does his best work when he gets his opponents back against the cage (McGregor ko, Alvarez ko, and more). Makhachev’s style of striking isn’t suited for Poirier, which is why he will most likely win by mixing in his wrestling and finding a sub.

Whenever Islam was aiming for double champ status the main argument for it was that if he was to fight Gaethje or Poirier or Charles in a rematch he would win.
But just because he would win doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the responsibility as a champ to fight deserving contenders, which he has 3 of, Gaethje, Poirier, and Arman/Charles winner.
Imagine Islam’s resume with Gaethje, Poirier, and Charles/Arman stacked on, he would be indisputably the greatest lightweight of all time and probably make most people’s top ten all time lists.
The division's top 5 are so strong that it makes the rest of the division stall, despite the next 10 being insanely good. There isn't anything that stands against Islam. He could beat Dustin and Justin, but people may not look up to it since Khabib already beat them. He could beat Arman and Charles again, and people may not look up to it because Islam has already beat them once.

Listen, the two Volk fights didn't help Islam whatsoever as far as dominating his division... especially to the first fight. His rise to the title wasn't impressive in the least. So yes he needs to start fighting the top guys in the division. I don't look at the Charles fight simply because the promotion backed him into a corner with Charles already over worked for that year.
I still say ilia the best matchup for Islam not to be a meat🚴🏾 but the level of wrestling & striking the guy has is phenomenal dnt nobody but ilia or Charles sounds like it’s makes sense when talking about matching up with Islam to me

Well, the Connor rematch wasn't a full win. His leg broke at the beginning of the match. It's like winning in pool because the other player accidentally hit the 8-ball in during the match. It doesn't feel the same and it isn't the same.
