No expensive garage or mechanic to do the work all DIY or get in contact with the son of yerman we bought the new bull from is the normal thing that we do if the bits can be made at home well sure that is best way and use the money for paint or whatever else
What a great story. I'll bet the old tractor felt ALIVE being able to do some work again. And I wouldn't change a thing about it . Leave it just as it is . Restoring it would ruin it and the story .I love that old man too! You can see the joy in his heart.
What a wonderful project. Respect to all involved. I had the great pleasure to drive a Fordson Major recently, similar to the one my grandfather would have farmed with after the war. It instantly showed me the advances in tractor engineering today but I still hanker for the FM and her cute little eyes/headlamps. She had real character. God bless from Norfolk England
Thanks so much for following up on the first video, where I never thought in a million years that it would run, at best have a few good parts. There are people in this world who are magic with engines and that beautiful old man is one.
Bright,,i love it A real bronze age tractor from 1954 And it’s goes again👍👍👍👍👍👍 There are still a lot of very ancient things in those bogs Let’s dig 😁👍👍👍
Muy bonita recuperación del tractor, me gustaría que la historia que esas personas cuentan fuera en español, escuchar el relato de esos adultos mayores ...... Saludos. . .!
Hi I like old engines First thjought was a Nuffied but that would have had studs for head bolt all unf thread nightmare David Brown prob a good shout We built an old fordson petrol tvo at collage loads of fun be mello nice one
course her would just alter timing a bit and set injectors up. no electrics hardly to go wrong. i like the new ones dont get me wrong but the older ones will outlive the new ones
What make was that tractor? I think I saw the word or name DAVID on the engine, is it a David Brown? Buy the way, my hat is off to you fella's for all the work it took to unearth and get the old tractor RUNNING AGAIN, WOW!!!!!!!!
What was the other thing you ran belt too thought maybe a bailer but it looked like it just shoot the hay back on ground looking the same as it went in
Reply to Brad not Landa Got any standard tools left in the island? Would be nice to see what it looked like originally. What brand. Some specs and special features.
Im amazed it was able to be made to run again. I still dont know how it ended up buried or what made them decide to exhume it. Is it a rare tractor or what?
Threshing machine. They were forking hay into it just to try it out - back in the day they'd have been forking stooks of cut corn into it - the machine then separates the grain from the corn ears and spits the straw out the back.
@@kingdomfor1 that’s fine no worries And that’s a cool Tractor David Browns are not bad tractors when they’re running right they have their little flaws but otherwise a really good tractors
@@Ellenslife851 my dad and I had a business specializing in david brown repairs in Australia we immigrated there in the sixties , my dad did his apprenticeship on these david brown's in England .wish he was still here to see this .
I’ve worked on some basket cases over the last 60 years but your project was truly a Herculean effort, well done
Fantastic, right from the clay, this is a happy old tractor. Old diesels never stop to impress me.Greetings from an impressed Norwegian viewer.
Amazing that you got it going again. I didn't think what you dragged out of the bog would amount to anything. Great work all round.
Brilliant video nice to see the tractor running again now the can restore it fully great work all thanks for sharing

It's a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing this video! From Texas USA...
Wonderful to see this old lady working again, so very well done folks, love it!

I love this, its fantastic that the tractor goes so well after being buried in the bog.
Amazing work. The young man who worked on it and drove it is a great part of your team!
Awesome!,.... glad to see the outcome of this tractor. 😎👌👍🇨🇦
Great story, thank you for saving her. Regards from Czech Republic.

Amazing he got it going with no more than he said he had to do, a testament to how well built they were 60 years ago.
It's so awesome that you guys got this running. Figured it'd just be scrapped after it was found. Kudos!
I would leave it as it is. True testament of it's buried history! Bloody thing still smokes less than my Landy after ten years in a fookin' bog!!
I bit slow here maybe, but this is same rig as the tractor they uncovered. Just awesome as she runs again, God bless from Canada. 👍
Top work guys!! Cant wait to get back to the best county in ireland.
Incredible find and dedication to the mechanics to bring it back to life.
Well done.
Mechanic home trained on a motorcycle and old car before getting near the tractors
that was a very interesting history lesson. Thanks from Canada!
Legend has it that it drove itself back to into the bog grave that very night.
Fantastic work. My ancestors came from Mayo. Thank you for sharing from Tasmania Australia.
This yarns got everything, nearly shed a tear, the older guy telling the apprentice how to torque up that head
WOW!!! Amazing this is what got dug from some random field! 🌟🌟🌟
Great group effort and seriously fascinating video! Thank You💋
thanks for sharing this it encourages me to think that nothing is to far gone to be restored :)
+gravedigr12 Long as its made by humans, you have something to compare it, enough interest and money... everything can be restored.
A new lease of life, well done to all of these people and shame on whoever buried this fantastic tractor in the bog.

the old guys really know there stuff we all can learn a lot from them

How incredible great job beautiful tractor

We used to start an old Fordson Major using a rope wrapped round the pulley & then pulling it to kick it into life.
Great to be able to see what they've been able to do with it already - they certainly built those old tractors to last.
Excellent thanks
There's an old iron wheeled tracker in a swamp south west of Seneca, Illinois, could see the stack for years
Someone should dig it up.
Wow amazing I thought this tractor was going to be thrown away for sure.
Just be careful to park it on solid ground from now on.
it didn't sink it was buried.
Well done guys awesome job at saving that piece of history
Amazing!! I have a 73 Ford and love it.

I have a feeling one of them convinced the other "It'll just be for a few minutes!"
Bet it will run better and last longer than the new tractors made today
You are joking? "Run better" !?
course her would just alter timing a bit and set injectors up. no electrics hardly to go wrong. i like the new ones dont get me wrong but the older ones will outlive the new ones
GREAT Work!!
Have to wonder if they went back in after the missing radiator and sheet metal, or if they were “found” like the other rear wheel.
great piece of work
i would like to see how they rebuilt the engine, in what stateit was
He said he removed the head and the sump (oil pan) and got the motor free.
So great, but, didn't it have dualled tires when recovered?
Yes but if they keep it on firm ground and not out on those soft bog fields(whatever they're called)there's little need for duals.
The air filter on that David Brown looks just like the one on My Armstrong Siddeley 10 hp Diesel stationary engine. They must have been common.
I did wonder what it was. I saw David on the engine block so guessed David Brown. You have confirmed that.
the old aston martins always look good even in this state
What make was that tractor? I think I saw the word or name DAVID on the engine, is it a David Brown? Buy the way, my hat is off to you fella's for all the work it took to unearth and get the old tractor RUNNING AGAIN, WOW!!!!!!!!
Great stuff,now don't loose it!
good as gold put it straight back to work, but stay away mud holes, top job boys.
very interesting where abouts in north mayo did this great effort take place .
that's why I don't Barry my old junk , never know when you might need it again lol
Wonderful...
Why would anyone give this a thumbs down???
i love it.but what is with the safety vests in uk
Well done , great to see that working ,
Lovely story

1954 C Jackson tractor
Why are you running baled hay through a threshing unit or are we pretending.? Great restore of tractor and video story line?
that apprentice with the love bite smokes more than that old tractor 🚜
The only question I have is the front tires ones bald and the others got new tread aside from the cracking, how and why
Mayo.. Gods own country .
Fine amount of smoke of the old girl
muy interesante
love the way hay in oh look hay out lol
I miss Father Ted
im impressed
Great work, well done, will it be restored or left as is.C.Harrison
The best thing about a David brown is they'll go for ever
So will i, if i eat enough jalapenos!
Wow, it runs!! Hurray!
The tires that were on it when it was dug up were in better shape than that. They must have put older tires back on it.
that thinh looks a lot better than it did
lol the mud did magic to it
Just goes to show that the darned things are almost indestructible... Keep them full of clean oil and they'll run forever...
Just joining in a bit late here, gents. What kind and model is it?
It looks like a David Brown Db series . Maybe a DB5 or a DB50.
William Wallace thank you! Never seen one in Canada, thats for sure. :)
either a cropmaster or a 25d
thanks. :)
its a cropmaster
Erin go Braugh from America!
Im amazed it was able to be made to run again. I still dont know how it ended up buried or what made them decide to exhume it. Is it a rare tractor or what?
Do you still have the tractor😊
I bet a 2019 modern tractor would not have survived that long.
Not a chance.
That little Irishman certainly had a gummy grin didn't he!
Little Irishman? where was he? not on my video.
Talk about..
"Luck O the Irish" !!!
The bogs are likely debris of Noah's flood.
Ok, I give up. Just WHAT in tarnation is that contraption they were forking hay into?
Threshing machine. They were forking hay into it just to try it out - back in the day they'd have been forking stooks of cut corn into it - the machine then separates the grain from the corn ears and spits the straw out the back.
Google used rimes and tir3s 235 70 16 9 to fit 2009 buick
Imagine that ! Put hay in get hay out the other end !
Me just a wonderin about how much work actually went into getting it to run. No way just washing off the gunk and drain and fill. No way, no way.
Tolerances on the older machines were massive.
Was the tractor powering a thrasher?
A Thresher. Yes. Thrashing is what you get for being a bad boy!
YES

thats a david brown 880 ive just finished one
I think it's a David Brown 30C, the 880 didn't come out until 1961. The front was more square on the 880. This one is very rounded.
I dont get the Davie haymaker, oh I get it, it recycles hay, wonderful invention, who is the patent holder.
Does anybody know what it is for Brand It appears to look like it could’ve been a international but just curious
Very late reply its a david brown 25d

nice
A good diesel mechanic can adjust that old engine.
