Tina Mc No. Nobody needs "god". If you like to believe in a god that is located in the sky watching over you as a need of protection and security, you must be in a pretty fragile state. To live in a world full of sheep guided but a religion that contradicts itself is my pure weakness. I don't believe that people die young just because god needs another angel or that people get a disease as a life lesson, because that is a croc of shit. Beliefs don't change facts, and if you're a reasonable human being, facts should change your beliefs. "If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of the divine reward of a position in heaven, then sister, that person is a piece of shit.". I don't expect you to change your beliefs according to a comment on UA-cam, but I can atleast hope that you will open your eyes to see that you don't need a religion to keep you going in life. I can surely live without a god, and so can a few 1-3 billion others.

I remember before I started high school, my sister sat me down with her yearbook and pointed at this one specific boy. She said,"Hannah, this is the only boy I will ever approve of you marrying. I want you to get to know him in school." So turns out that I had him for one class. He's a grade ahead of me. I would always find any excuse to talk to him. He's not very good at getting hints 😅. Met my fiance when i was thirteen years old. He worked for a summer camp I went to in Canada (im from the states). We traded AIM addresses, and were friends for a couple years... talked all the time, started talking on the phone more and more, etc. Eventually, he asked me out. We have been making the international long-distance relationship work now for seven years... He proposed this summer, to which I said YES!, and we are now planning our wedding! For my fiance and it was not love at first sight. I thought he was a jerk and he thought I was annoying. Turns out, he just didn't like people talking to him first thing in the morning. We did however start talking because of a mutual friend, if it wasn't for our friend, we probably would have never started talking. By the end of senior year of high school, about a month before graduation he asked me for my yahoo chat name. We started talking and ended up talking all night. We both knew then and we became official when I wrote him a note and asked. haha, corny, but six and half years later he asked me to marry him. It's hard to find stories like yours these days! Your story reminds me of my love story with my fiancé. We met at a youth minister conference at a church in Massachusetts. My fiancé had come all the way from New Jersey for the conference. I had just started going to church for the first time in a long time, and my fiancé had recently left a successful life and job in NYC to become a youth minister, and to serve God. We met before Mass started and he asked me to be his "church buddy," since I had no one to sit with. I accepted his offer, and was blown away by how comfortable I felt with him. His voice was so beautiful as he raised it to sing praises to God during Mass. I felt so happy to have him sitting there in the pew with me. We gave each other a half-hug, half-handshake during the sign of peace since we both felt so connected to each other, yet were still very shy. The next day, we talked out on the lawn outside the church, enjoying a beautiful fall day. We laughed and chatted all day. He asked me out for tea that night, and we went to TGI Friday's for a brownie sundae and a cup of tea. The best part, though, was when we went to Confession together. Everyone in the conference went, but I was afraid because I hadn't been to Confession in so long! I was thankful that he was right beside me as we waited in line. I told him, "I'm so glad you're here." It ended up being an amazing experience at Confession, and was the springboard that my faith needed. I fell asleep so peacefully that night, knowing that I was so loved by God- and by my fiancé! I could go on and on.. But I am so excited to marry this man... My boyfriend and I met last winter. :) I'd recently gotten out of a long term relationship that didn't go well for me and was depressed. I had always known who my boyfriend was before we met because he was well known in our university town for his photography project, similar to Humans of New York. When I was feeling particularly down one morning, I skipped my first class but made myself go to my next class. I noticed my boyfriend who didn't know me at the time taking pictures of the rose bushes near my apartment. I almost got to say hello to him, but then an old lady and her dog interrupted. lol He was smiling so cutely showing her his pictures and asking how she was doing. I started to develop a crush on him after this, and I'd see him in the library reading books or being teased by the librarians. I thought he'd never notice me because he never looked my way when talking to my friends who he knew. After I had finished one exam, I was walking home and it was snowing. I kinda had a knack that we would meet that day, but I didn't expect how. I was on my street near those rose bushes when I noticed someone was walking beside me. And holy crap, was I ever nervous to realize it was HIM who was beside me. haha He didn't look over at me, just walked beside me for a minute before walking ahead of me. I had wanted to say something but felt my throat choke up. Then he turned around and smiled and said, "Hello." According to him, I looked completely mortified. He asked me for my picture for his project. We talked for awhile and then found out we were neighbours. He walked me to the door of my building and left. I added him on FB later. He accepted right away and then messaged me to meet up to cook together sometime. We went about two months without saying much to each other or even saying hello. But then he messaged me again to have tea together. We started hanging out after that point, which then progressed into dating, and now we've been together eight months. :) We're really happy together and plan to stay together. Unfortunately, he is an international student studying here. He's from Malaysia and I'm Canadian. He is finishing his degree before I will and has a scholarship that bonds him back to Malaysia. We don't know whether he will have to go back next year or not just yet, but if he does we'll make it work. I'm planning on teaching ESL so we are planning on living in a few different countries together. :)
I met my husband in a kind of a school. Here in Brazil we have to do a test to get a job or get in to college and we were taking that kind of classes but in differents schedules. So one day I couldn't go to school in the morning and I took the evening class and I saw him. That day I said to myself: oh, man...I wanna marry this guy. Because when I looked at him I saw a good person in those eyes...and I was right! The next day he went to the early class, so we met and became friends, but he was dating a girl from my class and I didn't knew it. I was so frustrated, so we were just good friends. Few days later , he broke up with the girl and the days passed by and he asked me out and then I was so happy BUT a friend saw us in this party and she was like: hey, I'm so glad you are here, so I have company...And I was: oh, man! Later, she was talking to some other friends and he took the opportunity to kiss me, I kissed him back and then his whole family was there and they came to talk to us and I was so embarrased. Five days later he asked me if I wanted to date him for real, and I said yes. 1 year later he took the exame and became a militar and they send him to another state. We had a long distance relationship for almost two years and when he came back, he proposed me and of course I said YES! We got married and I left my city, family and friends because of his work, and i have NO REGRETS. I was a weak girl, with a lot of scares, anxious, and this whole experience made me a stronger person. I prayed onde day to God if I ever got married that was to a good man, because I didn't want to suffer like my mon and He listened to my prayer. Thank you God for the amazing person that you prepared for me.
my boyfriend and I had met online on a gaming forum. We are really young at the time, only 13/14. We became really close friends on there for a few years, talking to eachother, sending emails, playing games together etc. Eventually we grew to like eachother after a few years but decided not to approach it because of distance (he lives in England, I lived in on the West Coast of the US). Thing is, I'm from Germany and he's from California haha. Well, there was a lot of stuff going on in my life at that time and I was emotionally drained from a bad experience with my ex. But things got better when I "met" him. Eventually we started talking on Skype and I was super nervous and had this feeling in my stomach.. So I knew I had fallen in love with him haha We had a LDR for about 1.5 years, during that time I flew out to see him in California a few times, but it was hard, because I would always have to leave without him..and then couldn't see him for another 3, 4 and even 6 months. We talked on Skype every day when I was in Germany, but still. Long story short, I am now married to him and live with him in California, I left my comfortable life and security (and family lol) to be with him. I also got my Greencard. In the end it's all worth it if you find that one special person :)) and you just feel GOOD and happy when you are with them. He is so sweet and caring, and I don't really trust anyone, but I know I can trust him 100%!!

Tina Mc No. Nobody needs "god". If you like to believe in a god that is located in the sky watching over you as a need of protection and security, you must be in a pretty fragile state. To live in a world full of sheep guided but a religion that contradicts itself is my pure weakness. I don't believe that people die young just because god needs another angel or that people get a disease as a life lesson, because that is a croc of shit. Beliefs don't change facts, and if you're a reasonable human being, facts should change your beliefs. "If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of the divine reward of a position in heaven, then sister, that person is a piece of shit.". I don't expect you to change your beliefs according to a comment on UA-cam, but I can atleast hope that you will open your eyes to see that you don't need a religion to keep you going in life. I can surely live without a god, and so can a few 1-3 billion others.

Shoutout to all the girls/guys who have been mistreated by someone recently. I remember before I started high school, my sister sat me down with her yearbook and pointed at this one specific boy. She said,"Hannah, this is the only boy I will ever approve of you marrying. I want you to get to know him in school." So turns out that I had him for one class. He's a grade ahead of me. I would always find any excuse to talk to him. He's not very good at getting hints 😅. Met my fiance when i was thirteen years old. He worked for a summer camp I went to in Canada (im from the states). We traded AIM addresses, and were friends for a couple years... talked all the time, started talking on the phone more and more, etc. Eventually, he asked me out. We have been making the international long-distance relationship work now for seven years... He proposed this summer, to which I said YES!, and we are now planning our wedding! But, because of the international issues, we have a lot of planning and research to do regarding immigration... which has slowed things down quite a bit. :/ Still, I love him, and it is worth all the time spent apart when we are finally together again.

For my fiance and it was not love at first sight. I thought he was a jerk and he thought I was annoying. Turns out, he just didn't like people talking to him first thing in the morning. We did however start talking because of a mutual friend, if it wasn't for our friend, we probably would have never started talking. By the end of senior year of high school, about a month before graduation he asked me for my yahoo chat name. We started talking and ended up talking all night. We both knew then and we became official when I wrote him a note and asked. haha, corny, but six and half years later he asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes, we both agree, we couldn't live without each. He truly is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me, my rock, my cheerleader, my other half. Learning how to be adults together has been hard, but worth it because hes worth it to me. The moral of my love story is that its not always love at first sight, sometimes it takes a couple glances to focus in on whats in front of you.

Wow, Promise and Steve, you two are an amazing couple and your love for one another is both beautiful and inspiring. Praise God that you two were brought together in such a sweet and romantic way. It's hard to find stories like yours these days! Your story reminds me of my love story with my fiancé. We met at a youth minister conference at a church in Massachusetts. My fiancé had come all the way from New Jersey for the conference. I had just started going to church for the first time in a long time, and my fiancé had recently left a successful life and job in NYC to become a youth minister, and to serve God. We met before Mass started and he asked me to be his "church buddy," since I had no one to sit with. I accepted his offer, and was blown away by how comfortable I felt with him. His voice was so beautiful as he raised it to sing praises to God during Mass. I felt so happy to have him sitting there in the pew with me. We gave each other a half-hug, half-handshake during the sign of peace since we both felt so connected to each other, yet were still very shy. The next day, we talked out on the lawn outside the church, enjoying a beautiful fall day. We laughed and chatted all day. He asked me out for tea that night, and we went to TGI Friday's for a brownie sundae and a cup of tea. The best part, though, was when we went to Confession together. Everyone in the conference went, but I was afraid because I hadn't been to Confession in so long! I was thankful that he was right beside me as we waited in line. I told him, "I'm so glad you're here." It ended up being an amazing experience at Confession, and was the springboard that my faith needed. I fell asleep so peacefully that night, knowing that I was so loved by God- and by my fiancé! I could go on and on.. But I am so excited to marry this man... He is truly a gift from the Lord and though this relationship is not easy, it is worth it. Xoxo :) May God bless you abundantly!

My boyfriend and I met last winter. :) I'd recently gotten out of a long term relationship that didn't go well for me and was depressed. I had always known who my boyfriend was before we met because he was well known in our university town for his photography project, similar to Humans of New York. When I was feeling particularly down one morning, I skipped my first class but made myself go to my next class. I noticed my boyfriend who didn't know me at the time taking pictures of the rose bushes near my apartment. I almost got to say hello to him, but then an old lady and her dog interrupted. lol He was smiling so cutely showing her his pictures and asking how she was doing. I started to develop a crush on him after this, and I'd see him in the library reading books or being teased by the librarians. I thought he'd never notice me because he never looked my way when talking to my friends who he knew.
After I had finished one exam, I was walking home and it was snowing. I kinda had a knack that we would meet that day, but I didn't expect how. I was on my street near those rose bushes when I noticed someone was walking beside me. And holy crap, was I ever nervous to realize it was HIM who was beside me. haha He didn't look over at me, just walked beside me for a minute before walking ahead of me. I had wanted to say something but felt my throat choke up. Then he turned around and smiled and said, "Hello." According to him, I looked completely mortified. He asked me for my picture for his project. We talked for awhile and then found out we were neighbours. He walked me to the door of my building and left. I added him on FB later. He accepted right away and then messaged me to meet up to cook together sometime.
We went about two months without saying much to each other or even saying hello. But then he messaged me again to have tea together. We started hanging out after that point, which then progressed into dating, and now we've been together eight months. :) We're really happy together and plan to stay together. Unfortunately, he is an international student studying here. He's from Malaysia and I'm Canadian. He is finishing his degree before I will and has a scholarship that bonds him back to Malaysia. We don't know whether he will have to go back next year or not just yet, but if he does we'll make it work. I'm planning on teaching ESL so we are planning on living in a few different countries together. :)

So one day I couldn't go to school in the morning and I took the evening class and I saw him. That day I said to myself: oh, man...I wanna marry this guy. Because when I looked at him I saw a good person in those eyes...and I was right! The next day he went to the early class, so we met and became friends, but he was dating a girl from my class and I didn't knew it. I was so frustrated, so we were just good friends. Few days later , he broke up with the girl and the days passed by and he asked me out and then I was so happy BUT a friend saw us in this party and she was like: hey, I'm so glad you are here, so I have company...And I was: oh, man! Later, she was talking to some other friends and he took the opportunity to kiss me, I kissed him back and then his whole family was there and they came to talk to us and I was so embarrased. Five days later he asked me if I wanted to date him for real, and I said yes. 1 year later he took the exame and became a militar and they send him to another state. We had a long distance relationship for almost two years and when he came back, he proposed me and of course I said YES! We got married and I left my city, family and friends because of his work, and i have NO REGRETS. I was a weak girl, with a lot of scares, anxious, and this whole experience made me a stronger person. I prayed onde day to God if I ever got married that was to a good man, because I didn't want to suffer like my mon and He listened to my prayer. Thank you God for the amazing person that you prepared for me.
my boyfriend and I had met online on a gaming forum. We are really young at the time, only 13/14. We became really close friends on there for a few years, talking to eachother, sending emails, playing games together etc. Eventually we grew to like eachother after a few years but decided not to approach it because of distance (he lives in England, I lived in on the West Coast of the US). We stayed friends for a long time, obviously had romantic interests but were essentially muted. When I turned 18, I had saved enough money to go to London for New Years, a place I had wanted to go most in the world, always had such a nice idea of it, wasn't disappointed at all. We planned it together and he picked me up from Heathrow airport and we hit it off then, becoming official after a few weeks while I was there. Now we are 21 and 22 living together in the UK. :)

I met my boyfriend almost 6 years ago on 1st of January. I added him in skype in order to improve my English as I was going to sit for FCE and CAE exams. He is from Greece and I am from Bulgaria, we initially talked for a year and a half without seeing each other in person.He is 8 years older than me, at the time that I added him, I was only 16 and he didn't really want to get involved with me in a serious way. After that 1.5 year I went to Greece and finally met him, we had so much in common and I was so interested in him that it didn't take me long to fall for him but as I had never dated before I didn't have the guts to make the first step and to confess my feelings. Thankfully he liked me too and we sat down and talked it trough, we knew the hardships ahead of us and we are still fighting with them, hopefully our battle with the distance will be soon over, once I finish my university in maybe 2 years.. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and it was only thanks to God that we are still together :)

My husband and I met on facebook too! It was super random though, because I'd never seen him before and one day he sent me a friend request and we started sending messages and chatting. Thing is, I'm from Germany and he's from California haha. Well, there was a lot of stuff going on in my life at that time and I was emotionally drained from a bad experience with my ex. But things got better when I "met" him. Eventually we started talking on Skype and I was super nervous and had this feeling in my stomach.. So I knew I had fallen in love with him haha
We had a LDR for about 1.5 years, during that time I flew out to see him in California a few times, but it was hard, because I would always have to leave without him..and then couldn't see him for another 3, 4 and even 6 months. We talked on Skype every day when I was in Germany, but still.
Long story short, I am now married to him and live with him in California, I left my comfortable life and security (and family lol) to be with him. I also got my Greencard.
In the end it's all worth it if you find that one special person :)) and you just feel GOOD and happy when you are with them.

So my best friend approached me saying she found my "soul mate," (which I don't believe in those things so naturally I didn't believe her) and I was very reluctant to talk to him.
