Love the reactions!! Harry said the song is written about a mom who just gave birth to her child and something happened and the doctors tell her she won't survive so the song is like a letter to her son on how to enjoy life and don't worry about her. In lines like "remember everything will be alright" "we can meet again somewhere, somewhere far away from here" "had the time of your life" "we should open up"
I think in this he’s talking about human behavior and what we’re all doing to the planet and each other. Meaning, the narrator has a big picture view in leaving the planet and is essentially saying “This is how it is, but it will be alright.” But you know, we do have to get away from doing the things we do that has us running from the bullets all the time.
Harry is in a league of his own and much of his music doesn't fit into any one genre. He writes the music he likes, which makes him so unique. After becoming a fan of Harry, I explored One Direction and found they are nothing like I expected and definitely not a typical pop boy band. Their music evolved into more of a pop rock/rock sound by their 3rd album as they got older and took more creative control, and did most of the writing. You would be surprised.
I was in the same thought process as you before hearing this song.Really opened my eyes too. You must watch Harry on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden. Hysterically funny. Nice job😂😂
One direction was probably a great starting point because it's mainstream music and gets you noticed I suppose, if he started in a rock band first he may not have been as well known
I love so much your reactions 💕 , thank you for this, you are really great!!! This is more recommendations of his live performances: - Harry Styles - The Chain (Fleetwood Mac cover) in the Live Lounge - Harry Styles - Girl Crush (At The BBC cover song) - Harry Styles ♪ - Only Angel (at the BBC) - LIVE (his more rockier song) - Harry Styles - She (Official Audio) Pink Floyd influenced song - Harry Styles ♪ - Woman (at the BBC) - LIVE - HARRY STYLES SECRET SHOW @ THE TROUBADOUR // LEATHER AND LACE (WITH STEVIE FUCKING NICKS) (fancam video, but this performance with his idol Stevie Nicks is such enjoyment to watch) - Harry Styles - Medicine (St Paul) (one of fans favorite performances, also fancam video) - Ultralight Beam (Kanye West cover) - Harry Styles Live - Harry Styles Covers Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi” (Radio 2 Breakfast)
@Dawn McClure I mean that not liking 1D doesn't mean that you would not like Harry, because his music is nothing similar to 1D. The comparison is unnecessary, since his music is totally different.
Thank you Lee for another great reaction. Harry was 22 or 23 years old when he wrote this song which I believe was the last song written for his first solo album "Harry Styles" released in spring of 2017. I commend you for opening yourself up to new music, I'm 63 y/o and I would hate to think I closed myself off from new things in life, there's so much great stuff to explore. Have a great day!! 🐾
I'm so glad you've become more open in regards to listening to more music. Love seeing people discover Harry. I would love to see you react to more of his music. I recommend listening to his songs: From his music video: 'Falling.' Ever Since New York on (Saturday Night Live). Only Angel (Live at BBC). I don't know if you do album listens, but if you'd be willing, I'd love to see a reaction to Harry's album Fine Line!
Hi! I scrolled back on you account, and I think the only One Direction song that you listened to is "One Thing". This song was from their as you say "teeny-bopper" phase (as a 1D fan, i don't even like that song...), and Harry was only around 17 when it came out, he's 27 now. It's from their second album, and they didnt really have any prominent rock/pop-rock rongs until their third album. I really, genuinely think you would like some of their later music! Check out "Drag Me Down - Live 2015"!!!! It's professionally filmed, so no screaming girls ;) PS. Zayn Malik isn't in this performance because he left the band a few months prior due to anxiety and an eating disorder :( Some of their other rock/rock influenced songs are - Midnight Memories - Single off the album Midnight Memories - Alive - Track off the album Midnight Memories - Temporary Fix - Off the album Made in the AM Try to Check It Out!!!! :)
Bro, 1D was just the beginning for him. He really broke loose after leaving the band. I'm looking forward to his third solo album. You picked up the message very well! Dying, saying goodbyes, but also the feeling that things are changing fundamentally. This was his very first solo single, and a huge hit in 2017, as it deserves to be. From his first album you did Kiwi and Sign of the Times, which are perfect examples from that album. The second album, Fine Line, is better IMO, but a bit more experimental, groovy and artistic. The first one was more straight-forward old school rock. It's hard to suggest anything from the second album, since I think it is a kind of album that should be listened as whole. But if I had to suggest I think you would like "She" from that album. I'm sure you already know he won a grammy for his massive summer hit "Watermelon Sugar", but that one is just pure popsy, groovy and pretty simple sing-along song. Nice one, yes, but I don't think it's down your alley :) Just for fun & veeeeery different Harry Styles from his newer album: try "Treat people with kindness", with the music video. That is just something that makes people... smile. All the way.
You really should checkout his live version of Adore you there is a whole extended version music video that is like a mini movie it's Awesome but it might be a little distracting first time listening to it so I would do his live version first so you can appreciate his Amazing vocals and then checkout his music video please x
Adam Lambert auditioned for American Idol in 2009 singing Bohemian Rhapsody, Simon Cowell was reluctant for him to go any further as he found him a bit too musical theatre. Anyway f/fwd many months to ‘Rock Week’ and Adam took on Zepplin’s Whole Lotta Love, a mate of Brian May’s saw this and told him to check it out. Later in that series Brian & Roger mentored Adam and played with him. He’s been touring with Queen ten or so years now. ua-cam.com/video/BcdjaU5zrCQ/v-deo.html
Thanks for your reaction. Quite interesting ! if you also react to song without video, and take suggestion, I would like to see what you think of his song « she » on his Fine Line album. 😊 Have a great day. 🌸
Well , ppl say that it's about the whole situation after one D went on a hiatus and the fans were really sad and how they felt about it . But I have also heard that he saw / met a mother who just gave birth to a child but also didn't have much time to live but she wanted to teach her kid about things and give them the right upbringing . So that's also what the song can be about , he just observed that and wrote about that . He does observe ppl a lot and focus on their details
I really really love that you started this channel open minded and ended up quite suprised at how good these artists are. I’m really glad that so many people are starting to appreciate harry ever since he went solo, we could see his potential when he was in One Direction, but sadly it was overshadowed by his image of being a member of a ‘boyband’. back in 2018, I also had the same view seeing boybands from asian countries, despite being Asian myself. I watched Jessie J in a chinese singing competition for established musician and skipped the locals performances, because i had this evil and close minded opinions that their music didn’t matter. that the youngster from Asian countries these days are idols and boyband members wanna be. oh boy how wrong i was. in that show i found Hua Chenyu, i didn’t intend to watch his performance at all. mind you, i was so so close minded and i skipped his performances from previous episode. but i stumbled upon him because i watched the show was being livestreamed, just before his performance. boy he was INCREDIBLE. now i can bravely say, you can’t find somebody as unique as he is in western country. here, i’m going to share you the video that changed my mind 360 degrees: ua-cam.com/video/wpwo-rOqP-Q/v-deo.html . note: he re-arrange the song himself. Can you please react to him? I wanna know if you’ll have the same view as mine or not, overall i wanna hear your honest thoughts. so looking forward for it!

Harry was born to be the front man of a rock band I'm convinced of it imagine what could of happened if he never ended up in one direction.
One direction was probably a great starting point because it's mainstream music and gets you noticed I suppose, if he started in a rock band first he may not have been as well known
He was asked once what would he be if he not ended up in One Direction. He answered "A virgin". You gotta love him!
Love this performance! You should DEFINITELY REACT TO GIRL CRUSH, It’s one of my favorite covers Harry has done😊
I love him, his music and him as a person. I’m into One Direction now too. Wich I would never think I would be.
