Lyrics:
I've been driving for an hour
Just talking to the rain
You say I've been driving you crazy
And it's keeping you away
So just give me one good reason
Tell me why I should stay
'Cause I don't wanna waste another moment
Saying things we never meant to say
And I, take it just a little bit
I, hold my breath and count to ten
I've, been waiting for a chance to let you in
If I just breathe
Let it fill the space between
I'll know, everything is alright
Breathe
Every little piece of me, you'll see
Everything is alright
If I just breathe
Well, it's all so overrated
In not saying how you feel
So you end up watching chances fade
And wondering what's real
And I, give you just a little time
I, wonder if you realize
I've, been waiting 'til I see it in your eyes
If I just breathe
Let it fill the space between
I'll know, everything is alright
Breathe
Every little piece of me, you'll see
Everything is alright
If I just breathe
Breathe
So I whisper in the dark
Hoping you'll hear me
Do you hear me?
If I just breathe
Let it fill the space between
I'll know, everything is alright
Breathe
Every little piece of me, you'll see
Everything is alright
Yeah, yeah
(Everything is alright)
Everything is alright, if I just breathe, breathe
I've been driving for an hour
Just talking to the rain

anyone in 2024?
Meee
Me
Rest in peace Tiffany.
Songs like this have a vibe about them that songs today don’t have, it’s difficult to put into words, but somehow i feel it.
TRUE.
@willieweilish Yeah, I've been trying to recreate this type of sound in my work because I miss it so much.
ok joe
@willieweilish True but there is a band today that has the same vibe to this. Not the same type of music tho but the element has that early 2000's vibe. The name of the band is the 1975.
Nostalgia
Rock star. They don't make em like this anymore. I grew up in the 90's and didn't even fully appreciate it at the time.
Most of us Millennials did not appreciate the 90s and early 00s as much as we should have.
Same.
We were kids. We didn’t know how to appreciate life. We were worried about getting our next toy or going to get candy or ice cream. We had no fucks to give.
@@jtc9098 yup. Agreed.
@@jtc9098 We may have been kids & may had no fucks to give. I was in a totally different situation because between the age of 10 to a little over 12 family was homeless
Some of the 90's magic spilled over into the 2000's. This is a product of that. I love it.
Everything that came before influences everything after
You put it exactly how I've been feeling it but didn't know how to describe it No one can understand this magical time, not unless you were there
Early 2000's in particular.
1998, sure. 1993 was a different story.
So trueee
I'm still stuck in 2000's. This decade was my life.
Yes, even your name throws me back into 2000s
I used to go to the groceries and department stores like albertson and safeway w/ song like these on a cool cloudy day. chill for shopping and so nostalgic.
Best era.. I'd give anything to live one more day of it :(
2000s is the best
You and me both. This was my defining decade so I can't let go.
I am a 70’s and 80’s music lover but a few songs in the 90’s really had it going. This song and Michelle Branch music really stood out for me. Such a beautiful song ❤
Well. This song is from the early 2000s
She is seriously one of the greatest female artist ever.
The kind of music to be played with the windows down driving in late spring, full summer past the deep country meadows I share on my channel....oh I gotta put her music on there!
Ong, I just listened to The Spirit Room not too long ago and it’s a great album. Gonna listen to Hotel Paper next, especially since I love this song.
I was born in 1988. Im 35. Words cannot describe this tune. The years progressively made it better. 🙏🏻👍🏻👊🏻✌🏻
Same here 🎉❤😅
Michelle was one of those singer/songwriters who came along in a flash and left almost as quickly. While she has an undeniable talent for singing AND writing, it's the arrangement here that catches me. Gentle acoustic strumming leads a simple snare beat while she sings all kitten-ish. She gains vocal power during the lead-in to the chorus, and then, you hear the sound of walls being ripped down, as roaring electric guitars tear the chorus apart and flip it inside out. The push-pull dichotomy occurs throughout the song, and then it's back to barren acoustic strums for the bare-bones bridge. A simple cymbal shimmer brings the listener hurtling back into the last chorus, during which she uses every bit of vocal prowess she has to wring every last drop of emotive power out of the song, especially during the held/belted sections. This song is one of my favorites for the arrangement alone.
Without reading your comment, I basically said the same thing. Love how the music was layered and built up to the first chorus.
Never went away. Just singing country garbage now. She had an album in 2017
bro do you write music reviews for articles or something
Amen
You should write & do video reviews on youtube
When I hear this song, I get reminded of early 2000s romcom film scenes that show a montage of the lovers having the best times of their lives.
tru
PS I love you this was the trailer track.
The Prince & Me (2004) with Julia Stiles?! ❤️

Jesus Is King thanks brother really do appreciate it. Honestly hope everything will be okayy
I needed that. Thank you
Michael Domingo God bless brother you are welcome!.
Listening to Michelle Branch helped me overcome depression.
That is amazing, when an artist creates music that has the power to do that.
I totally agree. This song never gets old.
and thankfully it has i know what it's like to have that as a great obstacle in life thankfully music and the great artist who've created it have always been a source of comfort ! listen for my ideas in future stay strong!!
This song helped me overcome my depression as well man. God bless Ya hope you've been doing as good as me
cHeStEr5434 i actually came here because i was depressed. i not giving up, but sometimes all the stuff the universe throws at just keeps stacking up around you. glad i found this song.
Michelle Branch's pop hits soothe the adult me! I always come back for the good feels!!!!😍😍😍😍
I really missed early 2000s. This will be my forever vibe🎉
This song is relevant in these troubling times. Thank you, Michelle Branch for giving me comfort! Just want to breathe
Amen!
I was a kid in elementary/middle school in the early 2000s. This song takes me back to those days and makes me really miss that time.
Can someone bring back the 2000's era of music, thanks I appreciate it.
That laid-back early 2000s I think we all need right now
Whenever anxiety hits me, I would usually listen to this song. The lyrics really resonate with me:
"If I just breathe
Let it fill the space between
I'll know everything is alright
Breathe
Every little piece of me
You'll see
Everything is alright
If I just breathe"
Put in tattoo
Same 😢
Michelle Branch & Vanessa Carlton have a lot in common. They could pass as sisters, both came out around the same time, both have always been underrated.
+Heartboy1031 I was thinking the same thing! They look so much alike, and their music and singing voices are pretty similar.
what about Avril Lavigne? haha she also came out in early 2000s
They should have formed a duo.
nuu they were popular in their time
Couldn't agree more.
Listen 2024 like
The Spirit Room and Hotel Paper are genuinely the most solidly crafted front to back pop albums released in the 2000's. Every track is an absolute slice of perfection.
2020 January am still listening I miss the early 2000s
Prince Mado omg 20 years ago ! Wow !
Miss the early 2000s SO much!
Prince Mado so do i
I miss the days before June 1, 1996 that's the day the FCC allowed radio stations to become corporate

I FOUND IT!!! This song got stuck in my head this morning, and I'd been looking for it for like 20 minutes through 2,000 playlists. I stumbled across "Everywhere" by Michelle Branch, and was like. "This sounds like her. 💙💙💙

Oh how I miss 2003 when I was 4th year high school watching this on MYX.
This song was way before the term self care and clarity was a common expression. This song self explains how to regain your in troubling times. Fantastic song and lyrics that can strike a cord with relatable emotions.
Miss artists like her
Of all the artists out there who are no longer active, I miss hearing Michelle Branch on the radio the most.

I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle when I worked at MTV. She didn't have a security escort out of the building, so I made sure she was safe to her car. She stopped to sign a few autographs for the fans and then thanked me.
This song was my favorite cd while I had a long drive home from work. Saved my life, t-boned by a kid going 70 in a 40mph zone, no license and the doctors said I was never to walk again....I am walking and believe "Breathe" and my Hyundai car saved my life! Thank you Michelle Branch!
Beautiful! Your comment stopped me in my tracks. I'm so happy things worked out in the end. I hope you have a blessed life.
She is extremely talented. I like how her producers layer the music. It goes through several levels of intensity and gets louder as it gets to the first chorus. That was something they did a lot in late 90s and early 00s. But she used that technique in a lot of her singles.
Earth Boy Sun And Rain. Michelle still does it with her singles today when she makes music
I remember the first time I heard this song, hearing her sing "breathe" and then go higher on "that... (will fill the space)" literally gave me goosebumps. I have always been a huge Michelle Branch fan. She's just the right balance of everything. I'm not going to lie, this song bringing me back to 2005 brought a tear to my eyes. What the hell has happened to the world in 15 years? People need to unplug, ditch Facebook. Go back to doing things in person.
Pete Szerszen She’s my favorite artist of all time. Her music has such heart and warmth to it.
I feel people should do that every damn day. Very true.
Wow it's crazy that I came back to this after a 15 year gap. The last time I heard of her was in 2005 in my final year of High School then left the spotlight by the time I went to college the first time. Then in 2019-2020 I found out Michelle Branch did songs for The Wreckers but it turned out that was from 2004-2007 when she was with them and disappeared from the spotlight for a decade. Oddly enough I was reminiscing the 2000's again when I heard my Nieces and Nephews sing "This is me- Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas" and my reaction was its a Michelle Branch song from the 2000's when I first heard it because the lyrics and vibe is all Michelle Branch in the song.
There was a Hopeless Romantic by Michelle Branch but that was released in the 2017-2018 timeframe. Also Michelle Branch had three unreleased albums West Coast Time, Everything comes and goes, and Broken Bracelet. Crazy to think three unreleased albums are some of her best songs out there and yes Michelle Branch is real in the past 20 years on and off the spotlight.
Absolutely!
2003 in La Rochelle, France. I was a young student, 20 years old, and I remember driving by the sea coming back from a date with my girlfriend, having a party to attend to on the beach with my friends, listening to Michelle Branch records.
We used to gather, laugh, and talk about love and life.
That feeling of Freedom. Of expanding my own horizons. That feeling of starlit skies, sunrises and sunsets, of warm summer days and cosy winter nights together. Of friendship, of romance. And the sea, everywhere.
Everyone grew up, and soon we all set on our own paths to adulthood. I wonder how everyone is doing now. I feel a part of my soul has never truly left that place. Sometimes I go back there when I hear such a song. Knowing that these years were the best of my life.
Michelle Branch was the greatest musician of her era. No joke.
Fact
Still is. When she came back after raising her daughter (2017) I'm like YEAH!! I remember her. Missed her for 15 years though. Family is first. Cool interview on You Tube
E Drew Exactly! All of her songs are so well produced and so catchy :)
TheStepmonkey You can tell she puts so much heart and soul in her songs. Listening to her music is like cozying up with a warm blanket
Yeah and she was kind of overlooked in a way sadly.. but we were still all jamming out to her on the radio. It’s weird how she wasn’t “bigger”
Early 2000s music is real music
Late night 2000s music bender anyone 🙋🏾♀️
This song literally helped me cope with life for 6 months while I was in the midst of loosing my Dad 🙏🏼
Thank you Michelle
And I love you Dad ❤️
oh! 2003 please comeback! even just for a day... 🙏🙏🙏

Jsalcedo23 oh! no buddy l was talking about the song itself, sorry for making you confused?.
I miss this kind of music, i want Michelle Back
(2000-2005 maybe to 2009) this era of music. So lucky to have grown up in this era 😊. Just seeing all these people getting old whether it be Britney, Backstreet Boys, Friends cast.. it feels sad.
The most famous person on earth.
This song popped into my head and im glad it did and im glad i found it again. Used to be playing all the time on tv, movies, the radio when i was a lil kid. Always loved it.
WHO ELSE COMPLETELY FORGOT THIS BEAUTIFUL HIT BY HER?!? WOW!!! How times have changed and this song STILL gets to me!
Im a 32 year old male and I'll say this song was amazing then and this song is amazing now! 2000's pop rock was amazing! So many artists I'd rush home from school to and play the music video channel or catch some TRL and jam out to home work!
I love u Michelle
This is still a banger in 2024 🔥🔥🔥
This song reminds me of 2003, a year of transition when I left one job, started graduate school, fell in love... my life has never been the same for all of these incredible reasons. Viva Michelle!
For some of you young folks out there, this was music to my ears in the early 2000s. Michelle Branch had good hits.
Her music is iconic ❤❤❤ 2023 and I’m here for it!
I discovered this song within the last 6 months. In some way, it has helped me with some of my anxiety and depression. Just like it says in the song, If I just breathe I'll see that everything is alright. I think we sometimes get so caught with the stress in our lives that we forget to stop and breathe every once in a while.
I love Michelle Branch. She was such an underrated young female artist. Her music will always take me back.
Her music is as unique as her music video, she's just awesome to infinity and beyond.
I miss you so much, Michelle!♥️
Just so you know, Michelle tried to released "West Coast Time" in 2011 and her record label wouldnt let her but the good news is that a lot of the songs are on UA-cam.
She did successfully release a 3rd solo album in 2017 called "Hopeless Romantic". It sounds drastically different than her 1st two albums. It has an 80's indie pop vibe to it but it still showcases her mastery at writing songs.
The icy blue eyes and glossy lips was everything ❤
Kinda miss the early 2000's with these feel good songs!
I admit that all of her songs are beautiful. But this song "Breathe" was my favorite. 👍👍👍
💙Missus Sag
Out of the three "Anti-Britney" girls of the early 2000's, Michelle Branch is the dearest to me.
- Vanessa Carlton's grand music makes you feel as though an uptown girl's holding your hand while the two of you run through the bright light of a metropolis in Christmas (New York, Chicago, etc).
- Avril Lavigne's mood swing of songs (in her first album, at least) makes you delve into the psyche of a young girl who leads an ordinary life, is desperate for recognition in the big city yet at the same time harbors deep fears of losing her simpler self.
- Meanwhile, Michelle is content with being herself - the "younger sister living next door" that we treasure so much in our youth. Her music is the serene diary of a girl that stays by the ocean/in an old town and holds no ambition whatsoever. And that's fine since the sincerity of a girl who is experiencing the joy and sorrow of adulthood is all us listeners need. Her music comforts us, while making ourselves want to soothe her character also.
Who else agrees with me?
rotenaka this is beautiful. And I’m a 18 yr old dude from Asia 😂🙌🏼
That was beautifully put I grew up when all three were popular and I felt like that too. Michelle is my favorite of them cause im a content person with a positive attitude like her wish she would come back though lol

Seriously, WHERE is Michelle Branch? She should be at the top of the charts right now. The world needs a new album!
yeah, she's way much better and adorable and respectable than Taylor Swift.
+TheWhitelighter19 She's still making music. She's released a few albums and EPs since this. You obviously aren't looking very hard lol.
Demi Lovato's first 2 albums were actually good when she was pop rock. She turned RnB in her recent albums. Demi was much better back then.
I so agree her pop rock albums were way better!
Hell yeah she does!!
Was going through my old cd's and stumbled upon this song and how could I have forgotten about Michelle Branch... Had a crush on her and loved her music... Yes, I've downloaded her album and now I'm listening to it at work... They don't make music like this anymore...

It makes me sad she didn’t stay popular after her 1st 2 albums but I’m glad she decided to keep making music afterwards
This song takes me back to middle school, I love her music compared to the mumble rap and autotune pop songs.
It’s so good to see Michelle Branch back playing music!!
I miss music like this please bring back the 2000s
This is pure talent that doesn't get recognize anymore. You don't to have much talent to be poplar now. But there are rare decent ones here and there.
