- On Monday, August 26, 2024, a building partially collapsed in the Saint-Henri neighborhood of Montreal, Canada.
According to reports, construction on a nearby parking lot apparently triggered the collapse.
There were no injuries.
Significant damage occurred which is visible here.
Apparently the building was for sale as you can see here:

Here is the official news story:

Ironically, while I was filming this incident, a small fire occured just a block or so away. I assumed the responding units were actually responding to the building collapse as I had assumed that either the structure began to further collapse or some additional units were showing up to replace the previous ones.
In fact, they were responding to a 10-06 (minor fire) in an apartment complex down the street from the building collapse.
The fire was quickly contained but I managed to catch the tail end of the response which you can see at the end of the video.
This video was filmed on Monday, August 26, 2024 staring at 4:55 pm Eastern Canadian Time.
Glad to hear no one was hurt!
Hi Pat!...interesting event...great video...luckily no injuries.
Thank you Fred
I was listening to the scanner and heard it come in!
Oh wow talk about timing.
Just one block from St. Remi Street, familiar area....that building was built in 1910, the architect who designed the blueprints for this renovation project miscalculated in some way.
Yeah big time eh? Yeah it looks like an old structure. Makes you wonder how bad things would be if there is ever an earthquake here
Good morning patrick what happened
I remember years ago when I was heading home I saw a building collapse near Montreal-Ouest station
Oh yeah it happens occasionally eh
The building collapsed due to viberations from work being done in some parking lot . the building will be demolished if it isnt done already i feel for the owners insurance company .
Yeah very rare to happen
Amazing footage! 🔥
Thank you mate!!
