Just wish there were more aftermarket accessories made just for the bike.

If you plan on riding get some gear. All that I knew that went down without gave it up, losing skin is a pain. Also if you ride much stuff happens when you hit the ground it hurts even with gear but it gives you much better odds at walking away.

The Ivan’s reflash will make it run smoother. Especially the fuel cut when you decelerate. The factory settings on mine was like you turned the ignition off when you are decelerating. If you live in area where it gets cold, a taller windshield makes all the difference. It helps with the bugs too. As far as putting high rise handlebars, when your hands are above your heart for a long time your hands go to sleep. At least mine do because I’m getting old. Be careful out there and enjoy the ride.

Got my bell on the way to Sturgis in 2003 on a 1999 Vulcan Nomad. Current bike is a 2006 Heritage Softail but the bell still hangs in an appropriate spot to keep the road demons off me. That Vaquero is one good looking bike, Dude. My Nomad was a 1500 and ran great, but I bet that 1700 really pulls.

I bought a new 21' last year, added the passenger backrest/luggage rack and power outlet. Mine has the blackout bars, less chrome. I like it. My first "Bagger", been mostly riding a 79' KZ1000 ST. Put a slightly taller windshield on it too. Love it on the hi-way, 6spd vs. 5spd w/the KZ. I'm in NH.

@@legendaryslimon2s253 Not hard really if you have minimal skills. Remove rear floor board mounting bolt. Loosen front mounting bolt & floor board will tilt out of way. Remove clamp on inside of shifter & pull off. Take a hacksaw remove what you want then file edges. You will have to reset shifter lever to your comfortable place. I kept hitting heel shifter bumping it into 2nd gear at inopportune times so it had to go.

I bought a 2021 new, new kicker speakers with engineered adapters, clear view windshield with adjustable vent, passenger footboard, kawi rider backrest, ecu from factory is horrible, bike pops on deceleration and occasionally backfires, linear throttle is terrible with dead spots everywhere, put in a dyno jet 6 which improved it, ivan reflash maybe or might go back to harley, bike should not have comecout of the factory like this AWFUL!
