A character based on Elizabeth Bathery was one of the Main Antagonists of the animated movie Hellboy: Blood and Iron. It's also heavy on the horror and is split in focus between Hellboy and Broom.
Fantastic review. I recently did a run of this as John and was blown away. I had always read/heard it was a lesser entry. That’s obviously not true. It’s great.

Ever since they released the Castlevania Classic Collection, I gave this game a try and fell in love with it. I prefer the Japanese version included though, since the American version has an absolutely unnecessary amount of Fleamen in the palace of Versailles.
Great work! I love these types of retrospective/reviews for Castlevania. Been playing these since I was a little kid, and for a new fan, you didn’t miss a beat. I’m very happy to see another fan join the club.
Something to note about death punishment in this game: Playing on easy will cut your crystal count in half rather than deplete it outright. Though playing on easy also skips several minibosses and cuts Bathory's second form from the bossfights, which you may or may not want to do.
First of all, great channel, both this one and the blue one. After watching this video and follow the let's play, I noticed that there are two aspects of Eric's character that you do not seem to know. The first is that, with your weapon at the highest power level, if you do not release the attack button too fast after attacking, the spear cross opens and Eric makes two hits in the same attack. Although it seems that the animation is always done, only if you hold the attack button enough Eric makes the two impacts, taking twice as much energy from his opponents. The second is that, if you keep pressing the attack button and press the pad from right to left, or from left to right, Eric makes quick turnstiles with the spear. This tactic sacrifices the distance of the spear but, done at the right moment, can damage several quickly and even shield you from projectiles that would normally be difficult to dodge or deflect. Hope this can help you. Greetings from Spain.
The only real issue I have with this game is that I feel like having limited continues doesn't fit in a series that's as punishing as Castlevania. Granted, the game does give you passwords and only features six (rather lengthy) stages. But I'd rather just have it so you get sent back to the start of the current stage whenever you run out of lives.
I feel like the Death Battle in Bloodlines might’ve been the inspiration for the King Dice Battle in Cuphead. King Dice conjures a die that you need to parry to move an icon across a game board. Landing on certain spaces get you teleported into a mini boss room.
I wanna say she just claims she's Dracula's niece and isn't actually related. That said, I wouldn't object to seeing Dracula's family Christmas party in a game
