These two together could easily conquer the world, but they choose to protect the Princess, even against their own Queen. Wonderful.
Everytime I listen to this, I picture Steiner seriousing the fuck up to protect Beatrix and going into trance. His armor goes from a rusted piece of crap to a shining silver plate and he fucks up all the Mistodons.

for sure, most underrrated FF, iam here almost 20 years after having played, and still feels the freshness of remembering the story, its characters and their adventures.
yeah, that was an old great game...nothing compared to trash like ff13 or 15
I'm playing it right now for the tenth time and it never ceases to amaze me.
Beatrix and Steiner kicking ass. Not that Beatrix isn't kicking ass every time she shows up anyway, but oh well.

In the backstory of her character, actually, it's quite ironic. Her motivation for even BECOMING as powerful as she was is that she had challenged Steiner to a duel during her earlier days in the Military and lost horrendously. From then on she spent her days training insanely hard, and eventually outclassed even Steiner, though she never looked at HIM as anything but an equal really. Not until the events of the game forced him to essentially side with the princess because she was doing what was right, and eventually brought them to work together once more.
