Animation: Donizetti's 'L'elisir d'amore' ('The Elixir of Love')

The international tenor Rolando Villazón, also brilliant at penning a likeness, uncaps his felt-tip and with a few expert strokes brings alive a naïve young peasant called Nemorino who is madly in love with a flighty, beautiful young landowner named Adina. The opera is Donizetti’s great romantic comedy L’elisir d’amore (The elixir of love) that premiered on 12 May 1832, and this animation is brought to you by John Hedley and Nick Martin.
