The Scorpions are a German hard rock band formed in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. The lineup from 1978 to 1992 was the most successful incarnation of the group, and included Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs, Francis Buchholz, and Herman Rarebell. My favorite from them is "Rock You Like A Hurricane"... off the album Love at First Sting · 1984
This guy can sing with the best of them, if not the best!! Especially in his younger years, utterly amazing bro. Enjoy your reactions brother!! This band IMO has been underrated
Agreed, Klaus Meine is definitely one of the best singers ever. He can hold his own against Freddie Mercury or Dio, in my opinion. For me, he's the best, I just love his voice, holds so much emotion - but that might be just a tad bit subjective ;)
Hey brother, I'm a subscriber here from Brazil. This song is from Scorpions' 1979 LP Lovedrive and the cell phone appeared in 1997, almost 20 years apart. Fantasizing this love story told in music, these two were already grandparents when the cell phone was invented hahaha, maybe they called their grandchildren hahaha
This came out in 1978 - definitely a landline. Scorpions were essential in the 1970s/1980s. First album came out in 1972 and they released an album last year. They have around 100 songs, so you'll get more requests! They're in my top 5 favorite bands (probably top 3). I could go on & on about them. They're in their 70s and still touring & they're incredible live too!
Klaus Meine (vocals) od Scorpions is such an incredible singer - u can recognize his voice anywhere... This song was released in 1979 from what became Scorpions first gold selling album (half million copies) in the US called 'Lovedrive'... Scorpions had released a few albums since 1972, but were unable to tour outside Europe until 1978. They played America for the first time in '79 as an opening band. Klaus Meine is not a typical 'rock star'... he was very short and has been very private offstage... He married his girlfriend Gabi in 1976 and they are still together today... In Scorpions documentary 'Forever and a day'... Klaus credited his wife Gabi for supporting him financially as he was a penniless rock singer from Germany, hoping to make it big in the 70's... I'm sure the lyrics to 'Always somewhere' were inspired by being away from her on tour.
This song is one from my favorite. I saw interviews with Klaus Meine in the German TV He is a verry good man. He doesnt act like a Superstar. Oh god my english😂 I come from germany My boyfriend comes from Scotland and I aks him all the time how I can write this 😅
This is also my favorite Scorpions album. What I love about it is that the album tells a story about a touring and. From the beginning with "Loving You Sunday Morning" the day before the tour. Then the next few songs about being on the road, and ending with "Lovedrive" the desire to get home. Finally getting home for a "Holiday" with their loved ones.
I can really invision everything he is saying (singing) the things he has seen the place is he's going, And the emotions he's feeling. (It's life on the road) It's like we are reading his Journal through this song. Beautiful song!!
Underrated band I think. You'll need to hear more of their songs like Rock you Like a Hurricane, No one Like You, Still Loving You, Wind of Change (which is about the Berlin Wall Coming Down), Send Me An Angel. Great Reaction.
My all-time favorite band! There is a definite difference between the 70's version of the band versus the '80s onward. I like both, but personally like the '70s version best, with Uli Jon Roth as lead guitar. The Fly to the Rainbow album from 1974 is absolutely insane! You might try a couple from that album, say "This is my Song", "Far Away", or "Fly People Fly". You won't be disappointed. I put that album CD in my car 2 years ago, haven't removed it since then! The guitar work is second to none, and that is saying a lot. For a real revelation, play "China White" with LYRICS, rocking a great message! (That's from the Blackout album in 1982)
After years of rock and roll of all flavors, lot of emotional highs and lows over a real good life and so much totaly amazing music, this song still hits real hard, very special hitting a special emotional cord. ... Scorpions has many amazing songs, several of these. Holiday is very similar, also amazing. Even more special if you can relate to the historical context is Wind of Change. Do the video version. It is about when the Berlin wall separating East and West Berlin, Communists vs. the West came down, after years of cold war, when everyone lived under constant possibility of Nuclear Armageddon. The song was a major song of HOPE, like maybe things really could end well for the ails of the planet. Kind of like the optimism among youth when Obama was elected but in a sense much bigger. Unfortunately we all moved on and created new demons to keep up the Us vs. Them. attitudes... The big broken concrete wall toward the end of the video is the Berlin Wall. The older suits after all the pics of soldiers and weapons were the leaders of the day of the East and West in various positive Peace talks. If you watch this video, I say again, keep in mind the context if you want to really get a feel for the power of the song.....
A little more about the Scorpions.... it is a German band, they formed in 1965,, 58 years ago, still performing, still touring, still doing it very well. Lots of people like their harder, pounding rock, I prefer the mellower ballad-type songs that I think shows their talent and harmonies better.
Hey JM.... you have other "reactors" following your lead. I watch them do the same songs you do within a week later. I suggest the songs to both channels and you do them first.... A Real Trend Setter you have become.... Cool

The scorpions put out solid music over a few decades. They put out stuff that we revisit often.
Hey Jimboy, The Scorpions at their finest… 1979… what a year for them! Thanks for playing this timeless ballad! Keep on rockin’! - E 🤩👍
They have many good power ballads - When the Smoke is Going Down, Lady Starlight, Still Loving You, Woman, Send me an Angel
Scorps are one of the best ever. Go down their rabbit hole, you will not be disappointed.
Go down the Scorpion hole.

Is There Anybody There off of the Love Drive is my favorite Scorpions song.

This song sounds like a blend of Lynyrd Skynyrd doing "Simple Man' and U.F.O. doing "Love To Love" in a slow rock ballad style.
This album came out in 1979., IMO it's their Best . You won't be disappointed reviewing the whole thing 👍😎👍
