A lot of people want to come here because of the laid back, positive, harmonious, easy going nature of most Kiwis and because it's a beautiful country. We don't have much division between people due to their differences. We have Kotahitanga, and the seeing of people as the same. We sing our anthem in 2 languages. In Englsh, "Men of every creed and race gather here", " in the bonds of love we meet". We are known for our friendliness, Manaakitanga and for our standing up for human rights, "E tu". A lot of people like the way we do a lot of stuff. Our men tend to be masculine and play rugby. Women play rugby but they don't chop their hair off. They're not trying to be men, they just love rugby. Teamwork is important here, and our leaders "Leave no one behind", hence our success against Covid deaths. The U.S. is suffering from living costs and and a high rate of gun violence. We recently embraced Matariki Day. Apparently it was another global achievement here regarding the treatment of indigenous people. We don't use the kind of lingo you have used, and the divisions you highlight. I have never heard your terms regarding separate groups. We hear or say whanau, ( family) Kia ora, manaakitanga, kotahitanga, kaitiaki, team, Ata marie, tangata whenua.... while you talk about your labels for separate groups- w... L..... as if the word used now for centuries, "blacks" isn't a label that leaves enough of a shock in our minds. We don't mind people coming here, but they would be wise to leave behind any thoughts and lingo about division and superiority, but to want cohesion and focus ready for the future catastrophe looming over the entire team of 7 billion. Im half maori, came back to New Zealand after 14 years in Australia in March this year. Skilled and educated, I was passed over for 8 jobs in two months jobs , all of which I was well qualified for including one where I wasn't maori enough (!?!) Now I'm waiting to go back to aus. Jacinda has ruined this country, everyone is surly and angry and depressed, it is very difficult to get simple things sorted because the banking and medical systems are archaic, houses are hugely overvalued, the gap between the cost of living vs what people earn is heartbreaking and almost criminal, we're still wearing masks in shops for gods sake even though we're almost 100% vaxxed and yet we seem to think here that New Zealand is this super progressive world leader. The reality is New Zealand is a poorly paid, backwards, wildly over expensive shit hole and it breaks my heart to have to leave again. My 18 year old daughter came back with me (she was born here) but flew back to Australia 4 weeks ago. Her last message on the plane to me was 'later gay New Zealand'.

Couldn't agree more with their analysis. I'm a 31 year old small business owner in New Zealand, I have been living here all my life. For the most part things were pretty affordable, expensive, but affordable, that was before Ardern was in power. Now its beyond absurd how prices have risen. There is no future here for a lot of young people trying to get established and purchase property, and as far as work goes my business has been crippled since. The last 3 months I have been thinking very seriously about moving to Australia, and I keep meeting people everywhere I go who are thinking the same. To be honest if she is re-elected my chance of leaving is 100%. Why stay somewhere where the government doesn't give a shit about it's people's livelihood? I can't reiterate this enough, for a lot of New Zealander's the hope of a bright future living here is falling away and I am tired of hearing her supporters offer excuses for her poor management, blaming the war in Ukraine/Covid among other things(always with the excuses). We are too smart to be seduced by that weak way of thinking, people in power ARE responsible for how things go in their countries, end of story.

Yes there are taxes but does NZ offer the flexibility of Australia in the same way? i.e. Encouragement of private health insurance with lower medicare tax levies, self managed superfunds that allows individuals to control there own retirement money? The highest tax rate went up by 6% in NZ last financial year and yet the health system is crumbling. There will be more to come too and the money is not spent very well. You also have ACC levies here funding a corrupt government run medical insurance company who couldn't organize a booze up in a pub. Although Australia has issues, it spends on medicare, roads, public transport. Have you been to Sydney recently - you can get on a train and be some where 30 kms away in 40 minutes. Here in Chch, you can barely fit 2 cars on a road because there has been no upgrades in 4 decades. NZ too small and traditional kiwis are too accepting of mediocrity.

Yes, I didn't know about the 50k public servants being hired. Good, I'm glad this is coming out. I live in Auckland and it's basically like being stuck in a snow globe. All for show around the world. You lose your job here and you have quite a high chance of not getting another one. It's that bad. Businesses don't want to employ more people but there's overgrown amounts of work that their employees have to do which works out to 2-3x more work loads, causing fatigue, mental health issues. We have plenty of recent experience with disillusionment in this country - Canada - considering our "rock star" Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. In 2015, I remember allegedly serious journalists in this country asking Trudeau about his lovely hair and unusual socks in the days before a federal election. These allegedly serious journalists didn't even raise questions when Trudeau said ludicrous things like "budgets balance themselves" during the campaign. So it won't come as a big surprise that he won a majority government despite his vapid pronouncements: it was a love-in, not an election. But we've had 7 years of him now and the gloss has long since come off except for his cult-like followers. Yet somehow he's been re-elected with minority (hung) Parliaments twice now so those of us who are desperate to see an end to him cannot confidently predict his departure. Meanwhile, the country goes to hell in the proverbial handbasket. I feel for New Zealanders, I really do. I only hope we both manage to rid ourselves of these virtue-signalling zealots at our next elections.
While it's disheartening to hear people struggling everywhere. It's also good to see people waking up and seeing how destructive wokeness and progressive leadership is. Hopefully it's not too late before 💩hits the fan

A lot of stuff has been quietly slid past us with no adequate public consultation or feed back and this is a pretty big one. I only found out about this because I lucked onto an outfit called H0bs0n's Pledge a while back and they let me know. I can't provide a link to the parliamentary submission page but if you check these guys out there is a link on their site. The actual submission process only takes a couple of minutes and if enough of us do it we may be able to force a public referendum. Please check it out if like me you aren't happy with the way our current govt is changing the country without our consent.

I awoke with a gnawing heaviness in my belly.
It took me a few hours to understand the blocked feeling in my gut, and the sensation of tears brimming just behind my eyes.
Then I got it.
I am feeling anger and grief for the thousands of New Zealanders who have become a part of my life in the past 18 months, those who shared their pain with me.
The vaccine injured.
The vaccine bereaved families who have lost a mum, dad, child, brother or sister after their (possibly mandated) Covid injection.
The mandated out who have suffered professional and personal abuse, lost their careers, their professional esteem, their income....and their trust in the system.
The families who lost a loved one during lockdowns, and experienced the excrutiating pain of virtual imprisonment at home while a loved one died alone, frightened, in a hospital or rest home.
The Kiwis stranded abroad who were unable to get a quarantine room to return home for the death of a loved one or the birth of a child.
The New Zealanders (including me) who have been deemed the black sheep and cut off from family because of our decision to refuse the injection.
The mothers with adult children who will no longer speak to them because of the vaccine divide. The adult children with mothers and fathers who have shunned them for the same reason.
The teachers who were marched off the premises with nothing more than a box of personal possessions, and a warning that if they returned they would be charged with trespassing. Their crime? Refusing the injection. For that they lost their job and were refused the chance to even say goodbye to their beloved students.
The families where both mum and dad refused the injection, perhaps based on pre-existing medical conditions and a personal risk/benefit analysis. They lost their jobs. They lost their homes. Mortgages foreclosed.
The grandparents who for months were banned from seeing grandchildren because of their unvaccinated status.
The teenagers and children who lost their sport clubs, their team memberships, their ability to sit drivers licences, their ability to enter a library or a cinema. Their complete alienation and isolation as a result of their unvaccinated status.
The elderly living in Retirement villages, who for months were forbidden from entering any communal space, and were virtual prisoners in their apartments, because of their vaccine status.
The patients who visited doctors and were "seen" in back alleys next to rubbish bins as they were deemed too high a risk to enter the building. Even with no covid symptoms and a negative PCR test. Virtual lepers because they refused the injection.
The doctors, nurses, surgeons, teachers, police, military (and more) who were severely injured or nearly died from their first shot and were refused an exemption from further doses.
The mandated who collapsed with severe Anaphylaxis from a dose....and then were refused exemptions, instead being instructed to take their next dose in ED with a resuscitation team and a crash cart by their side.
The teenagers who were crippled by Myocarditis and refused exemptions. Instead they were left with ongoing health problems, a potential shortening of their life... and kicked out of their Universities, training insitutitions and jobs.

It took me a few hours to understand the blocked feeling in my gut, and the sensation of tears brimming just behind my eyes.
Then I got it.
I am feeling anger and grief for the thousands of New Zealanders who have become a part of my life in the past 18 months, those who shared their pain with me.
The vaccine injured.
The vaccine bereaved families who have lost a mum, dad, child, brother or sister after their (possibly mandated) Covid injection.
The mandated out who have suffered professional and personal abuse, lost their careers, their professional esteem, their income....and their trust in the system.
The families who lost a loved one during lockdowns, and experienced the excrutiating pain of virtual imprisonment at home while a loved one died alone, frightened, in a hospital or rest home.
The Kiwis stranded abroad who were unable to get a quarantine room to return home for the death of a loved one or the birth of a child.
The New Zealanders (including me) who have been deemed the black sheep and cut off from family because of our decision to refuse the injection.
The mothers with adult children who will no longer speak to them because of the vaccine divide. The adult children with mothers and fathers who have shunned them for the same reason.
The teachers who were marched off the premises with nothing more than a box of personal possessions, and a warning that if they returned they would be charged with trespassing. Their crime? Refusing the injection. For that they lost their job and were refused the chance to even say goodbye to their beloved students.
The families where both mum and dad refused the injection, perhaps based on pre-existing medical conditions and a personal risk/benefit analysis. They lost their jobs. They lost their homes. Mortgages foreclosed.
The grandparents who for months were banned from seeing grandchildren because of their unvaccinated status.
The teenagers and children who lost their sport clubs, their team memberships, their ability to sit drivers licences, their ability to enter a library or a cinema. Their complete alienation and isolation as a result of their unvaccinated status.
The elderly living in Retirement villages, who for months were forbidden from entering any communal space, and were virtual prisoners in their apartments, because of their vaccine status.
The patients who visited doctors and were "seen" in back alleys next to rubbish bins as they were deemed too high a risk to enter the building. Even with no covid symptoms and a negative PCR test. Virtual lepers because they refused the injection.
The doctors, nurses, surgeons, teachers, police, military (and more) who were severely injured or nearly died from their first shot and were refused an exemption from further doses.
The mandated who collapsed with severe Anaphylaxis from a dose....and then were refused exemptions, instead being instructed to take their next dose in ED with a resuscitation team and a crash cart by their side.

Im half maori, came back to New Zealand after 14 years in Australia in March this year. Skilled and educated, I was passed over for 8 jobs in two months jobs , all of which I was well qualified for including one where I wasn't maori enough (!?!) Now I'm waiting to go back to aus. Couldn't agree more with their analysis. I'm a 31 year old small business owner in New Zealand, I have been living here all my life. For the most part things were pretty affordable, expensive, but affordable, that was before Ardern was in power. Now its beyond absurd how prices have risen. There is no future here for a lot of young people trying to get established and purchase property, and as far as work goes my business has been crippled since.
The last 3 months I have been thinking very seriously about moving to Australia, and I keep meeting people everywhere I go who are thinking the same. To be honest if she is re-elected my chance of leaving is 100%.
Why stay somewhere where the government doesn't give a shit about it's people's livelihood? Yes there are taxes but does NZ offer the flexibility of Australia in the same way? i.e. Encouragement of private health insurance with lower medicare tax levies, self managed superfunds that allows individuals to control there own retirement money? The highest tax rate went up by 6% in NZ last financial year and yet the health system is crumbling. There will be more to come too and the money is not spent very well. You also have ACC levies here funding a corrupt government run medical insurance company who couldn't organize a booze up in a pub. Although Australia has issues, it spends on medicare, roads, public transport. Have you been to Sydney recently - you can get on a train and be some where 30 kms away in 40 minutes. Here in Chch, you can barely fit 2 cars on a road because there has been no upgrades in 4 decades. NZ too small and traditional kiwis are too accepting of mediocrity.

Good, I'm glad this is coming out. I live in Auckland and it's basically like being stuck in a snow globe. All for show around the world. You lose your job here and you have quite a high chance of not getting another one. It's that bad. Businesses don't want to employ more people but there's overgrown amounts of work that their employees have to do which works out to 2-3x more work loads, causing fatigue, mental health issues. We have plenty of recent experience with disillusionment in this country - Canada - considering our "rock star" Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau. In 2015, I remember allegedly serious journalists in this country asking Trudeau about his lovely hair and unusual socks in the days before a federal election. These allegedly serious journalists didn't even raise questions when Trudeau said ludicrous things like "budgets balance themselves" during the campaign. So it won't come as a big surprise that he won a majority government despite his vapid pronouncements: it was a love-in, not an election. But we've had 7 years of him now and the gloss has long since come off except for his cult-like followers. Yet somehow he's been re-elected with minority (hung) Parliaments twice now so those of us who are desperate to see an end to him cannot confidently predict his departure. Meanwhile, the country goes to hell in the proverbial handbasket. I feel for New Zealanders, I really do. I only hope we both manage to rid ourselves of these virtue-signalling zealots at our next elections.

Heads up to any New Zealanders that didn't know tomorrow the 22nd July is the last day to make public submissions on the 3 waters bill. A lot of stuff has been quietly slid past us with no adequate public consultation or feed back and this is a pretty big one. I only found out about this because I lucked onto an outfit called H0bs0n's Pledge a while back and they let me know. I can't provide a link to the parliamentary submission page but if you check these guys out there is a link on their site. The actual submission process only takes a couple of minutes and if enough of us do it we may be able to force a public referendum. Please check it out if like me you aren't happy with the way our current govt is changing the country without our consent.

Ardern is not unique. Canada's Trudeau is probably even less of a success and the USA is not in great shape either. I noted that Ardern was wearing her Maori cape for her speech at Harvard, as she famously did at the Palace shortly after becoming PM. It is a political statement and not a fashion statement. Dignified though these Maori costumes may be in the right venue, they will never be popular in the general population of the world. It doesn't improve Ardern's appearance or do her any credit at all.
