Even in modern Japanese media that isn't trying to be realistic you don't see samurai act this way (unless they are Ronin or bad guys) because their whole vibe is supposed to be grounded, deliberate, and patient. There is the drawing sword cut (from the scabbard) that is something like these cuts, but it's more of a surprise attack strike, and is as often done as a horizontal cut across the abdomen as it is a rising cut designed to catch the face or throat, or the sword hand. And it's usually done at full arms length since it leaves you vulnerable. Using two hands on these kinds of cuts is fairly pointless anyway as you cannot generate much power with two hands on a rising cut without a longer handle, and katanas are hand and a half swords, that extra length being there for re-directing the blade more than adding force. The lack of pommel also does not help this as they add leverage and something to push against. A one handed Chinese long sword will do just fine at this because it's a very light, two edged, strait sword, so you can convert to draw or push cuts by stepping in or out, and you can divert the point back into the line to thrust and deflect better than a curved blade can. Plus you will have another free hand for a shield, scabbard, knife, cape, etc. The dao can do this because it's a massive hewing sword that has the weight to deliver a killing blow from most angles, and is either two handed or has a large pommel for this purpose so you can put your weight into it. So she's started out by demonstrating she doesn't even know how to use her sword, or act like a samurai.

Not only are there no Italian or Latin actors, but not even the costumes are correct... And they don't speak Latin, that's cinema. There are at least a couple dozen films about ancient Rome, and all of them are poorly made from a martial, cultural, aesthetic and interpretative point of view, and as for the Japanese, not even they themselves represent Japanese warriors well, for example, the samurai in the movies are all young and handsome and their combat styles seem more like an anime than kenjutsu and iaido... Nothing further from reality. but that is normal, because it is only fiction and not a documentary.

Truth is, the Chinese soldier was (to be honest) often enscripted in press gangs, and unlikely to have more than a few rounds and an uncertain rifle. It was a technological combat, to which the Chinese were ill equipped. It would be occur that soldiers were not only trained but armed properly by Stilwell's forces in and from Ramgara. Later, Chiang kai-Shek threw such men into Mao's forces because they gained something wholly unwanted, which involved a hope for what could be.

Храбрые, благородные, мужественные китайцы в кино в реальности сдали втрое меньшей японской армии половину страны. Китай вообще сегодня есть на карте благодаря американской и советской армиям. Но в кино, конечно же китайский героизм зашкаливает.

Китай потерчл свыше 30 миллионов человек убитыми. Японцы , просто животные. Отрубание голов, это самая безболезненная смерть. А они творили в сто раз ужаснее вещи.
