    Can I just say how much I appreciate that you put out quality content that you are clearly passionate about?
    99% of UA-camrs would be trying to milk these videos for all they are worth with multiple cliffhangers for every individual egg that hatched. It is so refreshing to always get the whole story with no "drama" in one video. Even if it takes you weeks of collecting and editing footage. It is recognized and greatly appreciated!

      Mystical Red Fox I suppose I should have said "manufactured drama". I love feeling like I am witnessing the Maury Povich baby daddy moments along with Emily and Ed (even though it may be weeks later). That is the beauty of their dedication to providing thorough content instead of manipulating reveals to try and boost views!

    I think you should keep the greyscale baby and breed them when they're older: those are some wicked genetics and I want to know if the location of his genes render his morphology dominant, codominant, recessive, or some crazy mixture!
    Alternatively, he might just be a scaleless baby with lots of scale RNA production so who knows! Boop his snoot with kisses for me!

    Just a suggestion for remembering your predictions! I’ve noticed that you make notes on the lids of your incubation containers. Maybe write a prediction code on the lid too, like this:
    S - Scaleless
    A - Albino
    O - Orange

    • @KL-uv3ts
      @KL-uv3ts 5 років тому +95

      Baby snakes need time to fully absorb the yolk inside the egg with them, it helps them survive until they learn how to eat -- so they're not really "done" until they come out of the egg on their own, even if they are alive. If they don't come out it's usually a sign of big problems, and most breeders agree cutting them out entirely does more harm than good.

    Both males could be dads.
    A clutch of snake eggs is much like that of a litter of kittens, if the female breeds with multiple males each of the offspring could have a different dad.
    So it is entirely possible that both Buck and the Het. Male are fathers to different noodles in this one clutch.

    Just an evolutionary theory: as the scaleless snakes are a genetic morph that is less durable in the wild, this would make them weaker by natural selection. So it might be something in their genetics that doesnt allow them to form a sharp enough egg tooth.
    I'm not a snake girl, but I love lil danger noodles so thought I'd chime in!

      Maybe since there head usually has no scales on their head which scales are made up of keratin, maybe the lack of keratin in the genes make a less developed egg tooth which is also made of keratin 🤔

      * eye roll *
      Even if the pre-hatchling was culled, it happens, it's a part of breeding, they've talked about it in other videos. When it has to be done it's the humane thing to do.

    I wonder, since the unpipped eggs were mostly scaleless and you were saying the scaled babies tend to come out first, could the scaleless gene affect the egg tooth development?
