Please take the whole "season 3" rumors with a grain of salt everyone. The article isnt even a very reliable source of information and no one even asked Alex Hirsch if he's making a season 3. If there was gonna be a season 3 he would tell us. Until then don't get your hopes up.

Alex Hirsch did say years ago that he wanted a Grunkle Stan and Ford spin-off, but Disney said no because they wanted more Dipper and Mabel, which Alex didn't want. Maybe they've come to a compromise and we'll get that Stan and Ford spin-off?

@arack4647 I don't care if the story is not as long as other shows. It ended on its own terms with what the creator intended. Plus, a good bunch of episodes and long hiatuses made Gravity Falls feel long enough. When are people going to let this show rest in peace? It doesn't need to be any longer, and the big story and any major ideas have already been done in it.

Gravity Falls does not need a revival, it ended on an awesome note. A revival would destroy the ending of its finale. Though a spin-off can happen.
Exactly! The creator wanted Weirdmaggedon and how it ended. It's better to respect his wishes and intentions and let the series be as it is in its completed form. It's because of this completeness and how singular the story of Gravity Falls is that even the idea of a spin-off is very iffy for me.

The original two seasons of gravity falls showed about two months of Summer over the span of two years irl , so over the last ten years irl that is 10 months in the show leading back to the “next summer”
On one hand the fact that they are potentially open to coming back is great. While on the other, you don’t want the core of the original show ruined with a bad reboot or spin off that won’t capture the greatness of the original series. It’s definitely a double edged sword.
Dont worry there is no season 3 they're most likely only working on some shorts. Alex hasnt said anything and unless he does trust no one! He's working with netflix right now, anyway. He's not working on season 3 the article and videos are very misleading.

I hope with a new summer we see some of what was definitely the best ship in Gravity Falls, Dipper and Pacifica. That had great potential but was only used in one episode.

IF Alex Hirsch were to allow a continuation of Gravity Falls, Disney NEEDS to give him and his team full creative control with minimal meddling. They have proved capable of letting creative teams shine like the XMEN 97 team and that show is a major audience and critical success.
If Disney wants this to succeed, they need to give that same freedom to Alex as there are many notorious examples of their meddling with the original show.
That aside, the original show was iconic and for the most part, pretty darn amazing so a continuation will be very welcome.... just accepted cautiously....
As much as I love Gravity fall I feel like a continuation will be pointless but I won't mind if they just discovered new monsters and more info on Bill each episode. But I don't know I feel like it was already a great show.
And I fear another season would ruin and undermine the ending of the original.

I am so open to this. Yes. The ending was so beautiful and heartwarming and easily makes you cry. That’d all go away. But if they can just make it as perfect as it currently is, it would be so good. Even a feature film would be great.

I once said that they should definitely do a Movie or at least revival on Disney+. Bill Cipher had once said “ This party never stops “ which I know for the fact Gravity falls is destined to return😁!!!
One thing I would LOVE to see is storytelling taking place in the 30 years Stanford was gone. We get some hints to what he was up to in Journal 3, but a series following him on his journeys through other dimensions could have a lot of potential: not only for plenty of new stories, but also to help give more context to the stories we already have or to reconceptualize Ford and Bill’s relationship.

While i guess there is a possibility of a season 3 happening it's probably not gonna be soon and i wont trust anything anyone says until Alex tells us, himself.

As someone who only watched through the whole series this year, I was very disappointed that "See you next Summer" never came true. I can live with things ending, it's a necessary thing, but it's so difficult when there's still so much there to work with, or when the product it's self is teasing more! I hope they go through with this, and I hope it's just as fun as the first season. Maybe I can binge it with my Gravity Falls enthusiast friend.

The original plan for Gravity Falls: Deep Woods was to do Quest for the Northwest, Deep ROOTed MisunderSTANding, and 8 Weirdmageddon shorts as a trial run, and then go to the next summer, where:
Stan and Ford found themselves near Time Baby's Antarctic glacier when the summer started, leaving Soos and Melody to take care of Dipper and Mabel until they returned. Shenanigans ensued involving Dipper clones Tracey and Quattro, a wizard who knew of Grembert, a freak snowstorm, a cursed party thrown by Robbie, a Group of Individuals Who Feel Something Is Missing In Their Lives, a police chase, a wrestling tournament, an unnatural flood, and an underground cave excavation. Meanwhile, Stan and Ford made their way north through the Atlantic, and subsequently took a cross country road trip from Glass Shard Beach to Gravity Falls.
Then after they released my Weirdmageddon short (the second of the 8), they randomly fired me. And then the entire project crumbled.
Funny thing, I recently started streaming the series on Disney+.
Whatever happens, I hope it doesn’t ruin anything.
I don’t think a revival for this is necessary, Gravity Falls ended the best way in the most heartbreaking way and it doesn’t need a revival for a sequel series or spin-off and definitely not a reboot needed

Honestly I just like the idea of just doing little shorts with the characters. They could take place before dipper and Mabel left and could just be fun shorts with a bit of lore sprinkled in there.

I really hope they don’t continue the main story because the main 40 episodes are perfect (except for roadside attraction) and tell a beautiful simple story. I hope if it does happen it’s a spinoff that doesn’t affect the lore too much.
What if it's about Bill coming back and the twins having to finish him off, once and for all? Theories (Mainly Matpat's) has revealed that Bill may still be alive, and plus, it's kindaaa hard to kill off an immortal being. I think we've all seen the theory by Matpat years ago, but I'll recap kind of. If Stan came back, Bill probably did as well.
Speaking of: the Big City Greens movie was very good

Gravity Falls is one of my favourite Disney cartoons next to Phineas and Ferb and this might not be completely true, but it could be what inspired me to one day make my own shows and movies. While the original show ended, I'll be down to see what else they can do with the franchise.
