@@fixitwithjake how is the b hyve connectivity? Do you need a hub for each meter? Or can you get 2 meters and 1 hub?
@jhost0311 very good. I’ve only reset it maybe once a year. Going on 3 years! 1 hub will handle many many valves.
imo totally stupid if it can not also be programmed manually. my new neighbor has it and it will not work with his phone . so it appears he can't run it manually ??
To run it manually for testing purposes you just push on those few simple buttons on the face plate there. It will cycle between the different stations. But no other than that you cannot just run it manually without connecting it to your phone first. Mine was super simple to set up so I would just have him call the company and have them walk him through it. I’m sure it’s probably user because these things are designed to be pretty simple to connect these days.
@@fixitwithjake he called rachio, they could not help him with the phone app ?? so he has to take it out and replace it with a good old manual hunter industries control panel, like the one that came with his house and my house has had a manual hunter for 20 years with zero problems. lol lol drat these new fangled machines bwaaaaahahaha 😄🤠😎🎯‼‼‼
Hire a neighborhood teen. I’m sure they can do it for $20. Kids are good at this stuff! I’ve had the Hunter ones. Still have one at one house. They’re ok but clunky and you can’t adjust them without going out there. Hard to read the screen in the sun. Old design but reliable. I prefer to adjust my sprinkler timing from the comfort of my couch now :) Hunter, Orbit, Rainbird all have smart sprinkler timers on the market. No need to get stuck in the 90’s

No, they use software to predict how moist the soil is. But it does have compatibility to add soil water sensors if you want.
I am looking for a Wi-Fi connected a sprinkler system that is designed for above ground sprinklers in another words, the system screws into the faucet on the outside of the house, the hoses run around the perimeter of the outside of the house, and I have sprinkler heads throughout the span of hose. It is not an underground sprinkler system. My other issue is I am blind, I would like to use one that has an iPhone app that I can use with voiceover, the screen reader for the blind. Any suggestions? Please forgive dictation errors.

Yes. Are use the Rachio smart sprinkler valve that plugs right into the hose bib. They also have a beehive version that’s produced by the sprinkler company orbit. Both of them work really well. The Rachio has a much more modern app. And the orbit one is very old-fashioned. I’m not sure about voiceover dictation, but I will try to do some research and report back.
Questions for you I recently installed one and everything works great. My question was on the yard map. Does that matter. Or have any effect on the timer or is that just for your own knowledge
