Those who think sexual discrimination is ok are completely unhinged. This isn't ok.
Big, BIG kudos to those who came forward and took action.
Umbc does not care. Whether it be athletics or regular students. This speech means nothing. If umbc is truly sorry, they need to actually take the steps who are deeply affected by this and rectify the damage they have caused which is not doing the same title IX training over and over again.
This. I'm still banned from the entire campus, they banned me the day after I sat down with the Dept of Justice on campus, not even a whole 24 hours had passed. That same day, the Retriever also came out with an article that mentioned me and the problems (this was with the rampant discrimination at the library, which even led to a suicide the uni also didn't care about (unless to cover it up)). They genuinely don't and I'm speaking as someone who was student and staff there.
This is very sick! The University needs to step up in a big way. They need to be held financially accountable and people need to be fired. As a University that makes a huge deal about DEI, it is shameful to allow such perverted abuse to occur and for so long. You say that you stand for something, but the University failed to properly investigate a very serious matter over and over and over and over again. It sounds a whole lot like the Administration was protecting the Predator. The President's words are not good enough and were measly compared to what is detailed in the DOJ's report. This is right up there with Team USA Gymnastics level abuse.
Jesus christ, this stuff happens so often and the responses are so political we are desensitized to it. The problem isn't university systems it's American culture.

@@YouCantTop You can’t systemize or account for everything. Our government relies in trusting and puts faith in its people to act with decency, but we have seen the rise of unethical activities in every industry. Right now, the U.S is in a moral recession. More and more we stop believing in a higher cause and worship money. Our ethical code has degraded into “don’t get caught”.
