Also the Aircraft that took off first was the Typhoon display teams new livery “Blackjack” and the display pilot was in it that day, Flt L Adam “paddy” O’hare the current display pliot if you go their again more than likely you will see him display over base which is 4x louder than the usual departures, unless it’s a performance take off (go vertical after take off)
Absolutely my lucky day. Im here from Oz, about to tour in a rental. Driving from York to Ipswich and desperate to see the BBMF. Now I know about the hotspot and the hangar tour. I’m also using your vids about the Peak District as a guide on my travels there. Thanks very much.
hey! I'm from Coningsby, I would check out a village/small town called woodhall Spa nearby, lots of history there, the petwood Hotel, where the 617 sqdn lived and drank is a must to see!
Great video! So nice to see the old planes still being preserved. As my grandfather flew in the Battle of Britain, I found that quite moving. Makes you think about what they went through.
Tattershall castle is gorgeous on a clear day you can see Boston stump. It’s a church in Boston. Soooo jealous u guys got to see the lanc I grew up sat in school watchin it out the window at what was gartree gm school. Xx now a member of Lincolnshire Lancaster association 🎉🎉 xx
Lovely video, one a year i drive up to RAF Coningsby and then down to RAF Lakenheath, what you would have seen on the day flying would have more than likely been 29th squadron, typhoon training planes along with Black Jack the display plane
Moved here a few months ago, although this is the main area to park up there is a spot where you can have them fly right above you, there's a main road that is under their flight path between 2 train track stop signs you can't park you car their but its cool to watch them fly over you (I havnt stood their so locals may say not to but we've sat in the car waiting for the signs and my daughter loved it)
Great video. I think I need to visit there! The Typhoons often fly circuits of The Wash and shoot ground targets. I live close enough to hear them from home.
I see you guys outside Home bargains in Peterborough a month or so ago but was to shy to say hi lol if you get hooked on jet noise raf lakenheath is also brilliant
Hahaha this is wicked! I live right next to it, actually in New York hahah!! You 100% drove past my house to get there ✌️ when they fly over I can see underneath of the plane from my bedroom window and just relax in my garden during summer and enjoy the fly overs without having to travel, glad you enjoyed it ✈️
If you enjoyed that, you need to get yourself over to RAF Lakenheath. The Americans do it louder. And RAF Mildenhall is close to if you fancy some heavies.
Great to meet you both in the spotters car park. Glad you enjoyed it. The sound is absolutely amazing isn’t it?? Shame more didn’t go up that day. Oops with the coffee jar. You should have popped over for some coffee. Safe travels. Yvonne and Kev
When the 2 fighter jets pulled up they were on alert because an unauthorized aircraft was in the airspace. This is called QRA Standing for Quick Reaction Alert
What a great vlog !! Nice one guys, more like this please. Maybe a summer tour of museums could be an idea for a series. Don’t forget the pencil museum in the Lake District
Great vid man, I’m a plane spotter and a photographer and have had some memories at Coninsby, you should definitely try to go to RAF Lakenheath, is a Usaf base and the pilots are a lot crazier their and do a lot cooler stuff in my opinion!!
It’s an awesome place, well worth the day up there active hours on a week day are usually between 8-4pm they do fly later and earlier sometimes they are just rough time!
Hi guys Oh wow what a brilliant find. That must of been so noisy but amazing to watch. The hanger tour was also interesting Thank you Charlie for the lesson 😊 Very good 👍 Have a safe drive home Love Kim x x
Hari OM I am a total flight geek so LOVED this!!! Conningsby is on my bucket list. If you ever come up to East Lothian, then the National Museum of Flight near Haddington is an excellent day out (it's got the last Concorde)... ta for taking the time to do this one! YAM xx
Hi guys. Loved the vlog. We love being up around there with all the air bases around. When we took the boat back to the cam be had the Lancaster fly over us in the Ouse just outside Ely at around 300ft. It was awesome!!!! Hey how you getting on with your nb engine? Miss seeing you guys!!😜😜😜👍👍
Nice video. I was walking along the river from Tattershall to Coningsby on 2 June, and the Lancaster flew overhead me at a few hundred feet, wheels down. Pethaps on the downwind leg of a landing approach? An unexpected treat.
Come over here from wills channel to then find out after watching a load of your videos you live in the same town as us mad I'm gunna have to take the van down to connigsby did you have any issue with the over night stay there
Thought you'd have gone Ostler's Wood down the road and had a night in the creepy haunted woods on the old RAF woodhall spa base! home of wartime 617 sqdn. Proper Blair witch in there!
OMG I saw you guys parked up. I drove passed you on the way to work....RAF Coningsby 🚀 not missiles but fuel tanks. That noise is 'the sound of freedom'
OMG guys we live close to Coningsby! Such a cool spot! Nice that you went through the original New York too! You guys should visit RAF Scampton... home of the Red Arrows, just north of Lincoln. We often see them practicing 👍🏻 x
Great vlog the jets you saw taking off are typhoons used a lot by the yanks these days based in sunny Norfolk. If your ever in Norfolk check out mildenhall airforce base you’ll see the typhoons and also the massive c130s or you have raf marham where the navy training at present with the F-35 lightnings these bad boys can hover and are used on the aircraft carriers these days. In Norfolk they train over the coastline in north Norfolk for dogfights
Typhoons are not used by the americans, and no typhoons are based in Norfolk. Norfolk bases do hosts the americans, mainly in F-15's. Typhoon is only based at Coningsby and Lossiemouth in the UK.
I’m so gutted I’ve always wanted to meet you guys and you camped 2 minutes from my farm. 🥲 Currently carrying out my own van build, hope to meet you on the road one day 👍👋😎
@@CharliePauly if you go again park at the other side of the RAF camp on Langrick Rd B1152 as when they land you can stand underneath them and see the colour of the pilot’s eye your that close 👍✈️

I don’t know if you’ve been told this but it is 1 of 2 RAF QRA stations or quick reaction alert bases used to defend British airspace from any unauthorised aircraft entering our airspace or if an aircraft is not responding. The jets are eurofighter typhoons. Love the video

100% we originally just went to see ‘some planes’ but it’s an eye opener when you actually think about it!
This was my last RAF camp in 1996. Time seems to fly as you get older and look back on the old days in uniform.
Glad I could roll back a few memories for you!
Glad you enjoyed the park up! cheers for the shout out! -Alex

Not actually stealth camping. In Berkshire there's a village called Egypt but no pyramids!
Not sure what’s ‘not stealth’ about it. It’s a van that you’d have no idea people are sleeping inside. That’s stealth.
