- In this video I teach you how you can play the old Skylanders Wii games on PC by using an emulator. You don't even need a portal! You can emulate all the Skylanders and their varients super easily.

The PS3 and Wii U versions can also be played via Rpcs3 and CEMU. Pretty useful for some of the later games in the series. Really great video. Gonna use this when playing the first game again for nostalgia.

Edit: Not to mention, we lost the original Skylanders disc when I was but a child, leaving me only with the memories of the Kaos fight I did with my sister, I’m very excited, I cannot thank you enough!

@@ayv3e I don’t quite remember his name, he’s from trap force. Water with a bow that shoots I think crystals, he was the first one I maxed, i think it was gillshot though that might be the name of the original water guy from the first.
I used to crush on the the grass rogue elf girl, the one with 2 daggers. I have a shocking inability to remember their names
I got only one gold as I only got one or 2 packs per game, but I got the one for the vampire boxer from Swap Force

i personally use cemu cus it has its own emulated portal and has better graphics + more skylanders games you can play, one thing is cemu isnt good for modding, so i have to use both lmao

Is it possible to do something like this on dolphin iOS? I know it’s possible to emulate the Skylanders games on iPad, but I’d like to be able to play as the characters portal-free if possible.
Have not tried it yet but do you know if it possible to play it with a friend? We would be using Parsec to emulate playing on the same PC. But is it possible to play the emulated Skylanders as 2 just like the good old days?

Which games are you able to play this way? Just SA and Giants, or are the later instalments such as Swap Force and Imaginators also playable?

i joined the discord and downloaded the emulator and spyros adventure game file, but it just says " failed to init core " do i need to plug in a portal for this to work or something?

@@troiqn4761 okay so my first issue was i accidentally downloaded the wrong version of the game file. make sure you get the WII version of the game file to download its in her server. also you need to make sure you have your emulated portal open before you open the game itself. sometimes the failed to init thing will pop up anyways and youll be able to play though

I was honestly not aware that there was an Xbox version of Dolphin Emulator. I looked into it because of your comment and the interface seems far different. I am unsure whether this is possible for Xbox. I recommend just to 'F*ck around and find out'. Somewhere in the interface there might be something like a virtual portal hidden, but I couldn't find it within my 5 minutes of searching. I hope you are able to make it work :]
@@ayv3e Thanks for replying - I tried but I don;t think it has a tool option like the pc version does. I recebtly had it all working great on my rog ally but had to return the Rog ally as it was faulty . Really wish they woudl bring the franchise back but i doubt they ever will . I recently bought a Godzilla Pinball so that keeps me busy when i am not on my switch or Ps5. Have a great day :)

Emulation really is something
SSA said the portal isn't plugged in. THE GAME IS UNABLE TO REALIZE I AM USING THE VIRTUAL PORTAL
I had someone in the Discord Server run into the same problem. They mentioned something along the lines of 'running another 3rd party software'? I simply asked them to reinstall and that seemed to do the trick for them. I hope you are able to make it work, keep me updated!

Am very late but as a quick question.
I am a person who uses a emulator which is Cemu. My prefer method is to get the a UBS storage devices and get the files that way.
So am wondering if I could use that same method with a Wii game or not

Aren't the games very poorly optimised for emulation on PC? Last year when I tried running the games they were blurry and ran at 10 fps. My PC isn't the best but it shouldn't be that bad
I haven't experienced this. Dolphin isn't recommended for any of the games after giants, as the PS and XBOX version are way better. Looking into PS3/PS4 emulators could perhaps solve your issue :]
I personally only play SSA as of rn, which is better played on the wii than the PS3 in my opinion, thus my choice to use Dolphin Emulator.

Get 2 of each lander so i can have one for each skill path
If you just store the 'save file' for a Skylander with a specific path in another location, you'll be able to swap them out. I personally just used the different gens of Skylanders to do this. So for Sonic Boom I have her bottom path on her Giant's Figure and her top path on her SSA figure :D

Both of you, is Emulate Skylanders Portal in the top left selected? There is a little box you can click!
