The Naha Te kata of Okinawan Karate are the most beautiful - clearly combining the internal (breathing/soft defence) and external (muscular force/hard offence). Beautiful flow between tension and relaxation; slow and quick movement. Contrast this with the Shuri Te kata, which are much more external, with hard defence and hard offence. Kururunfa is classic Naha Te and considered advanced. This demonstration is superb.
Elegant, precise and simply beautiful. Notice that she begins and ends in the same spot. Go back to the start and you can check it. That is a how a kata is supposed to be.
I don't practice karate but wushu, I have a lot of respect to karate, I like shito ryu, goju ryu and uechi ryu. This kata is just amazing, the performer is just perfect.
i practice Karate Shito Ryu but i dont like Katas, i only do them to advance, but on tournaments i only go for combat. i understand latter reading a manga, that you should picture the enemies while performing a Kata.
@@izilgur I always found that trying to picture an opponent made by katas much much worse. You don't expect every move to be picture perfect during sparring, so why should that be expected against an imaginary opponent?
The way i am learning karunfa is a bit different. After the starfish looking movie(sorry idk how else to explain it) we do a double punch towards the floor when going into sheiko datch instead of what they did. I am going to the Seminar in LA this weekend tho so i guess I’ll see what shehan Fujuwara does
I do not like her timing. The techniques we're good, and she has great power. But the pacing of it was way off for me. Also, if she was supposed to be doing the Goju Ryu version of this her stances were too wide and long.
Similar to Goju Ryu kata but different because she is a student of Shinanomachi Dojo of Keio Dojos of the Funakoshi Gishin original students. About 500 students. Not sure why this kata is of their practice but it is along with Kobudo which Funakoshi Gishin taught as part of routine training

Nunca he practicado Karate Japones (u Okinawense), pero no se porque en el Goju Ryu noto mas la influencia del kung Fu Cantones que en otros estilos de los mas conocidos de Karate. A lo mejor me equivoco o esta mal mi apreciacion, pero si lo noto mas.

This is not a shoto ryu kata. It means that you will not find it in your curricular program. Only the schools: Goju ryu and Shito ryu have it.

porque viene de ahi directamente. Goju Ryu es de Naha te y mantiene muchisimo la influencia del Kung Fu.
