I met Gilbert’s father ~ he happened to be staying in the room across from my casino hotel room~ he was totally cool as I told him what a huge fan I was of his son’s. We exchange info and he came to our concert that evening. I think very highly of Gilbert’s honesty as well as his BB IQ
My husband’s mom abandoned him & his siblings too. Left them with his abusive step-father. He went through a lot too. I know this and I’m extra patient with him, because of this. I here Gil talk and it’s like hearing my husband. I hope Gil gets counseling, because I know behind closed doors his abandonment issues eat at him. Over all he seems humble and down to earth. I was there when he dunked the first time. He went to Grant and killed it. I trained thousands of kids in the Valley and T.O. buy only a few played with me on the court. Gil did.
