  • We are at the quarters of the Herman Williams Jr. Fire Station, which houses Baltimore City Fire Department Truck 5, Medic 16, and EMS 2, at 805 East 25th Street in the Berea-Clifton neighborhoods, where we see Truck 5 as they respond to an unknown service call at 2905 North Charles Street off of West 29th Street. There had previously been a small fire at this location earlier in the day, and the people at the address were calling about issues with the utilities, which should have been passed on to the utility company, and not the fire department. Either way, Truck 5 responded. Truck 5 is a 2017 Pierce Enforcer tractor-drawn aerial with a 100-foot mid-mount stick. Enjoy the view of the rig as it responds, as well as the sounds of the tones and gong going off. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on April 21st, 2024.

I wonder what these folks feel heading out thinking what they be headed into. Not a job for everyone. Thanks for the video. We do remember.

It didn't startle me, it was just loud because it was directly over my head.

Terrible acoustics! Builders nor FD brass don't consider this when planning a new station. Nor due they consider the crews that will have to endure this torture.

believe it or not, it's improved quite a bit in recent years. But they will not splurge for omni-directional speakers in the middle of the apparatus room. So this is what we get.

@@mackflickerson6722 oh, I get it. The labor force gets what they get. Admin gets the good stuff. Rank has its privileges.

Take their sweet ass time getting to the apparatus but then run lights and sirens to the call.

Instead of being an armchair firefighter, I think you should go to their firehouse, show them this video, and tell them yourself. Let me know what their response is.

@@FL92002 So you don’t see how ridiculous this is?
If it’s a run which no one finds important enough to step it up in the house, then why bother doing it on the street?
Why not take a non emergency drive to the address?

@@ritirons2726 its not unusual for T5 to take upwards of 20 runs per 24 hour shift, so no, no one is rushing for an outside smoke odor. Department policy dictates the lights-and-siren response. We'll be hiring in June, probably. You should come out and fix us up.

@@ritirons2726every dept has their own protocols and policies regarding responding and lights and sirens usage, depending on the nature of the call as well.
