Not possible with Merab. He would literally have to KO Merab inside 2 minutes, otherwise Merab will drown O Malley. Too big of a risk. That guy literally shot almost 50 takedowns on Petr Yan, and picked Cejudo up like a little girl while smiling. No other way to win, than a clean KO in the first 2 minutes. Ilia would atleast strike with O Malley, so there is a good chance O Malley catches Ilia.

The difference is, if O Malley cant snipe Merab within the first few minutes where he is trying to come in, its over. And Merab doesnt close the distance like Aljo, so its not like he will run head first into a punch.

To young for tuf, I would say defences from each in there respective weight classes. If Sean wins and ilia wins the hype continues as well as trash talk promotion. Depending on the winner a defence against murab is inevitable. If ilia loses he must have a title contention fight against some top ~3 guy. A rematch for ilia would be mandatory and sean would have to defend against the winner of the contender fight anyways. it all has to be timed well for both parties otherwise careers go to waste in the years that fly by and hype dies.
This is all dependant on wether both Sean and ilia win there next defences respectively. If murab wins or ilia loses the matchmaking plan fails!

I know it won’t happen, but I’d love to see Sean vs Cory, and Merab fight Umar. I think stylistically it would be incredible. On top of that I know he had one fight in the UFC on short notice, but feed Bekzat Almakhan another striker like Yadong coming off a loss. I think he’s gonna be a Diego Lopez type situation where we see him fast track through the division.
