    Can die just say I reckon I’ve just struck gold finding you so I’ve tried to do similar videos of even easier tasks on my car and failed miserably you have got what it takes I hope you’re still going at it

    Love your videos dude. Thanks so much for the effort taken to make truly excellent DYI vids.
    Sometimes I watch then just to learn and relax, seeing competence in action.
    I'd pay you something but I am far far away in the land down under (where 80 series live for ever and ever and ever in road-salt free paradise :) )

    Love the 80 series videos! Do you locktight your caliper bolts. Also would love to see the same video for the front breaks and rotors!.

      I don't generally locktite caliper bolts. I just torque them to factory spec. It's been forever since I filmed it, but I'm pretty sure the 80 knuckle video covers the front brakes.

    OTRAMM you are the man! love watching all of your videos . Thank you for all the help with my 1997 FZJ80..
    Question.
    Can you, how difficult is it to clean, rebuild the inline OEM CATS . OEM CATS are pretty spendy. If rebuilding/cleaning is an option is it worth it or should one buy new? How long does this last? Also I want to replace my exhaust from the 2nd CAT to Tailpipe. I believe stock OEM exhaust is 2.5 OD and 2.25 ID? I think I want to stay with Toyota OEM exhaust as it bolts together and I do not run forced induction. Stock 1FZFE.. granted one needs to replace the donughts. I believe there are a couple other parts that need to be replaced also but I need to go back over this in the FSM.
    I was looking for some input, recomendations etc.
    any and all help with the above is greatly appreceiated. Much love and respect sir. Thank you for your time, have a great day.

      Cleaning the cats doesn't really seem to work. It may as a short term solution, but I've never seen it last. We usually use Magnaflow for the two converters and Toyota for the rest of the exhaust pipes and all of the gaskets. You'll probably want new rubber mounts as well.

      Working on editing that video. I shot a parking brake video and a rear wheel bearings video at the same time as the brakes.

      What happens that you can't do it? I trick is to go inside and bring the parking brake lever up about 3-4 clicks then go to the back rotor and adjust so it won't spin. Then back to the inside and bring the brake lever back down. That should be just about right for the adjustment. ;-)

    I have a "94" 80S Land cruser and last week I followed your directions and replaced front rotors and breaks. This weekend it's the rears. My question is I can't find which direction the wear indicators go, last person (the dealer) had them going both directions on the front, don't know about the rear quite yet. Anyone have the right answer? Thanks for the GREAT videos!

      I've seen them both ways. As long as they clear the caliper I don't think it matters which way they go top or bottom.

    *Should I go stock pads rotars?
    *All my other yotas have ebc slotted drilled with green stuff

      We use factory pads and rotors on the more mild trucks. I've had good luck with EBC and DBA for heavier trucks.

    I noticed you didn’t install the pad wear indicators. Was that intentional? I’ve recently installed new calipers, pads, and rotors and I’m currently battling a constant squeal so I’m thinking about taking them off of mine.

      The pads that I'm running don't have the indicators. I could have ordered them separately but it's my personal truck and gets looked at regularly. If they're installed correctly the indicators shouldn't make noise until the pads are low.

    What's the best rotor and pads you can get for a fj80 97

      Depends on your use. Most often we use factory pads and rotors. They seem to give the best balance of life and stopping power. We've also been using EBC. They seem to stop a bit better but also wear faster. Terrain Tamers stop really well but also wear pretty fast. So it just depends on whether you want excellent stopping or long life.

      Do you recommend an upgraded rotor with stock pads or just keep stock all the way around sry if all this is new to me I mostly own 70's Ford trucks so that explains why so many questions lol I almost didnt get my cruiser do to having to many buttons:) but I'm in love with the fzj80

      @@robertsanchez9229 mostly we do factory pads and rotors. We only move up if someone needs greater stopping power and is ok with replacing brake parts more often.

    Hi. There’s a bit of confusion on the installation of the stainless pad guides. Seems they can go in 2 different ways. Do you have the correct way. ?

      The guides that snap in to the caliper bracket only go in one way and clear the rotor. The ramped edge goes to the outside.

    What brand re-man calipers do you use? I've always been big on NAPA stuff..

      Usually the Napa Eclipse. They were out when I did these so I used Toyota. I've had terrible luck with other reman parts but the eclipse calipers have been great.
